GREENE COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

Through the week ending May 18, 2024: The following traffic advisory includes restrictions on the state highway system in Greene County. All work will be contingent upon the weather. U.S. 35-Valley/Trebein Interchange - Construction of an interchange at the routes’ intersection between Xenia and Beavercreek. Traffic is being maintained on U.S. 35; however, left turns from U.S. 35 West to southbound Valley Road have been eliminated, and motorists may detour by way of U.S. 35 West and the signalized loon past Orchard Lane to return east on U.S. 35 to Valley Road. Additional lane restrictions may also be in effect in either direction on U.S. 35, including the following: Monday-Thursday, May 20-23: Single-lane closures on Treibein Road, between U.S. 35 and Dayton Xenia Road, daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Monday-Friday, May 20-24: Single-lane (left lane) closures on U.S. 35 East and West from the Valley/Trebein intersection to one mile east of the intersection, nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day. Tuesday & Wednesday, May 28 & 29: Single-lane (right lane) closure on U.S. 35 West from Valley/Trebein intersection to one-half mile west of the intersection, from 7 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. the following day.

NEW IMPACT

U.S. 42 Resurfacing - From the northern corporation limit of Xenia to the southern corporation limit of Cedarville. Construction also includes repairing pavement, repairing or replacing guardrail, and replacing expansion joints at one bridge. Preliminary operations are under way, and traffic will be maintained in one, 12-foot lane with the use of flaggers, daily from approximately 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. All work is scheduled to be completed in the fall.

CONTINUING IMPACTS

Dayton Street (Yellow Springs) Pedestrian Facility - Construction of a multi-use path along Dayton Street, between U.S. 68 and East Enon Road in Yellow Springs. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with barrels and the use of flaggers as needed during hours of operation. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2024.

S.R. 72 Minor Widening & Pavement Rehabilitation - Between the U.S. 35 interchange and Turnbull Road at the Cedarville corporation limit. Traffic is being maintained in a single lane with the use of temporary signals immediately south of Straley Road through mid to late-May, as well as by flaggers as needed during daytime hours of operation in other segments of the work zone. All work is scheduled to be completed in late summer of 2024.

U.S. 42 Bridge Rehabilitation - Over the Little Miami Scenic Trail bike path, immediately north of the route's junction with S.R. 725 at Spring Valley. Traffic is being maintained in one lane with temporary signals throughout most construction, and the project is scheduled to be completed in mid-November.
