High Heaven Pavilion

Yang Kai starts off as a Trial Disciple of High Heaven Pavilion, where he is unable to advance on the path of Martial Dao due to a birth defect. This all changed when he one day stumbled upon a mysterious Black Book. Later, a Golden Skeleton, impressed by Yang Kai's mental fortitude and attitude, comes from the book and integrates itself into his body. This fixes his meridians and replaces his own skeleton to allow him to finally practice Martial Arts. Yang Kai then quickly becomes adept at cultivation, and blooms as one of the best upcoming talents of High Heaven Pavilion.

One day, a Mysterious Small World opens up near High Heaven Pavilion, leading to its disciples entering it with the hopes of possibly receiving the inheritance left behind by the ancient cultivators who fell there. From this event, Yang Kai and Su Yan, an extremely talented Core Disciple of High Heaven Pavilion, receive a Dragon and Phoenix-related inheritance respectively. They also learn and willingly perform the Yin-Yang Joyous Unification Art, which greatly enhances their strength in addition to establishing them as lovers. Later, Yang Kai also manages to acquire the Heaven-defying Soul Warming Lotus during another fortuitous adventure.

One day, upon returning to High Heaven Pavilion, Yang Kai finds it in peril. This is because Yang Bai, the previous disciple of High Heaven Pavilion's Sect Master, Ling Tai Xu, broke out of his prison in the Sect's Coiling Dragon Stream, injured his former Master, and proceeded to cause chaos in the Great Han Dynasty. This leads to High Heaven Pavilion being targeted by the other Sects of the Great Han Dynasty. The Eight Great Families of the Central Capital, known as the most powerful forces within the Great Han Dynasty, then proceed to forcefully disband High Heaven Pavilion as Yang Kai and most of its members successfully make their escape from persecution.

The Inheritance War

Later, after some adventures in the Ash-Grey Cloud Evil Land involving the Seductress Shan Qing Luo, Yang Kai is revealed to be one of the Young Masters of the Yang Family, the greatest of the Eight Great Families. The Yang Family is about to hold an Inheritance War to determine its next Patriarch, and Yang Kai qualifies for this competition as one of the family's Young Masters. At first reluctant, Yang Kai eventually chooses to participate in this war in order to restore the name of High Heaven Pavilion.

In the War, Yang Kai proves to be by far the most talented of all the Young Masters, and builds up a very powerful force. Threatened by how skillfully Yang Kai inspires forces to join him, as well as his ability to rapidly increases their strength, the Eight Great Families eventually shirk the rules of the War in order to directly oppose Yang Kai themselves. However, before either side can determine victory in this conflict, the Inheritance War is interrupted by the now extremely powerful Yang Bai. Yang Bai, as the 3rd Order Transcendent Realm “Demon Lord,” managed to conquer all 6 of the Evil Kings of the Ash-Grey Cloud Evil Land, and now shockingly leads them in invading the Central Capital of the Great Han Dynasty.

In light of this, the Eight Great Families eventually concede to follow Yang Kai in order to use his great leadership skills and personal army to combat this overwhelming threat. However, Yang Kai eventually discovers that Yang Bai's actual plan involves accessing a Void Corridor, which just happens to be under the Center Capital, in order to both access a higher world and pursue an even higher Martial Dao. Though Yang Bai is eventually defeated outside the Void Corridor, his self-destruction causes it to collapse with a fleeing Yang Kai, Su Yan, and others inside of it. Separated from his friends and loved ones, Yang Kai eventually makes his way back to the Central Capital after spending some time in the Endless Sea Islands.

Though Yang Kai heroically lead the Eight Great Families to victory against the enemy forces, he refuses to take the position of Yang Family Patriarch upon his return to the Central Capital. Instead, he chooses to travel to the higher world of Tong Xuan Realm alongside one of its natives, Shui Ling, whom he had incidentally met and befriended during the Inheritance War. Looking to both reunite with his lost friends and pursue a higher Martial Dao, Yang Kai accesses a Void Corridor to Tong Xuan Realm in the Abandoned Earth of the Tian Lang Dynasty.

Tong Xuan Realm

Upon arriving in Tong Xuan Realm, Yang Kai finds that his Immortal Ascension Boundary cultivation level is only good enough to be an average disciple of most Sects. After some initial adventures in this new world, Yang Kai is eventually caught and thrown into a coffin by a mysterious zombie known as the Coffin Carrying Man. Finding himself in a Mysterious Small World, Yang Kai learns that this Small World is the home of the sealed Ancient Demon Clan. During his time in the Small Boundary, Yang Kai makes a deal with the Li Rong, the leader of the Ancient Demon Clan, in which he promises to become a Saint Grade Alchemist in order to refine a Pill that allows for the Ancient Demon Clan to free themselves from this Small World. Eventually, the Ancient Demon Clan learns that Yang Kai is the inheritor of their eternal master's, the Great Demon God's, legacy, leading to him receiving better treatment. Likewise, Li Rong eventually allows Yang Kai to leave the Small World in order to continue developing his skill in Alchemy after they run out of materials for him to practice with.

After numerous subsequent adventures, including meeting the Ancestor of High Heaven Pavilion and briefly joining his Sect, reaching the Transcendent Realm after briefly ending up in the Starry Sky, finding Su Yan safe at the Ice Sect, and experiencing a run in with the Demon General Xue Li, Yang Kai ends up being reluctantly chosen as the next Holy Master of Nine Heavens Holy Land by the Saintess, An Ling’er. At first shirking the responsibility due to the drawbacks of the position, Yang Kai eventually accepts it, and starts to make attempts at developing the Holy Land. Having increased his Alchemy Skills, Yang Kai makes an alliance with a Monster Race Great Senior to temporarily protect the Nine Heavens Holy Land from hostile Sects, whom are angry over the destruction caused by the Holy Land's revenant Saintess Nan, until he has the power to take it back.

Yang Kai, after being chased by Xue Li again, eventually returns to the Coffin Carrying Man. After setting the Ancient Demon Clan free with a successfully refined Saint Grade Pill, Yang Kai returns to Nine Heavens Holy Land and takes it back as he promised. Yang Kai then develops Nine Heavens Holy Land into a more prominent existence than ever. Later, Yang kai is invited to travel with two Monster Race Great Seniors into a new Void Corridor discovered in their Domain. In the Small World this Void Corridor leads to, Yang Kai and the group eventually come across Meng Wu Ya and Xia Ning Chang, who are shockingly trapped in a terrifying Spirit Array made up of pillars with the word "TONG XUAN" engraved across them. Yang Kai has a conversation with a clone of the Great Demon God, who tells him that this Spirit Array is important to Tong Xuan Realm. Yang Kai then destroys the Spirit Array anyway in order to free Meng Wu Ya and Xia Ning Chang. However, instead of reproaching him, the Great Demon God Clone simply smiles, seemingly at peace with Yang Kai's decision to destroy the Array.

After the Spirit Array is destroyed, Void Corridors appear all over Tong Xuan Realm, and Yang Kai eventually uses one to return to his original world in order to migrate his family and friends back to Nine Heavens Holy Land. However, on the way back to Tong Xuan Realm, Yang Kai runs into Zhang Yuan, the leader of the Demon Race, who wants Yang Kai to help him unlock the secrets of the Great Demon God locked beneath the Demon City Capital. Yang Kai accompanies him with Meng Wu Ya, Li Rong, and Old Demon as they discover the secrets of Great Demon God's past. In this vision, they learn of the Starry Sky, the Saint King Realm, and the devastating threat of the Bone Race. Around the same time as the Void Corridors appeared in Tong Xuan Realm, the Bone Race reemerges. Eventually, Yang Kai unites all 3 Clans of Tong Xuan Realm, and proceeds to make war with the ever-expanding Bone Race. After a hard-fought victory, Yang Kai breaks through the Saint Realm and looks toward the mysteries of the Starry Sky.

Starry Sky

Destroying the giant Spirit Array reintroduced Tong Xuan Realm to the Starry Sky. After some investigation at the Ice Sect, Yang Kai finds that Su Yan likely traveled to the Starry Sky. Yang Kai travels the Starry Sky aimlessly until he incidentally stumbles upon a conflict between Sword Union and Purple Star, two major influences of the Heng Luo Star Field. Yang Kai ends up being caught and imprisoned by some disciples of Purple Star, but eventually manages to break free. After making his way to the command deck, Yang Kai takes the Star Chart Master of the Purple Star Starship hostage. However, a cosmic event causes a massive explosion that instantly vaporizes the Star Chart Master next to Yang Kai, while simultaneously sending everyone involved in the conflict between the two opposing forces into another world, called the Floating Continent.

On the Floating Continent, Yang Kai is forced by a powerful 1st Order Origin King Realm master, named Gui Zu, to improve his attainments on Space Force for the purpose of finding a way out of the Floating Continent. After some trial and error, Yang Kai eventually gets out of the Floating Continent with Gui Zu. He also escapes with a friend from the Heng Luo Chamber of Commerce named Shen Tu, in addition to Sword Union’s He Miao, He Zao, and their Master, Yue Xi.

Upon traveling to the Heng Luo Chamber of Commerce with Shen Tu, Yang Kai quickly comes into conflict with the Chamber of Commerce's most prominent Young Master, Xue Yue. Through a series of coincidences, Yang Kai later ends up stranded with Xue Yue on a Dead Star, where he learns the Young Master's incredibly dangerous secret: that he is actually a female. After some more trouble, Yang Kai manages to escape from Xue Yue on Rainfall Star, but ends up running into a group of miscreants exploring a Secret Boundary in the Starry Sky. As a result of the brief adventure in this Secret Boundary, Yang Kai ends up drifting in the Starry Sky in a sort of Chrysalis while his body is tempered for a few years, until he eventually ends up on a Starship headed to Shadowed Star.

Shadowed Star

On Shadowed Star, Yang Kai is given a small piece of land, called Dragon Cave Mountain , from the leader of the Starship that delivered him to Shadowed Star, a young woman by the name of Wu Yi. Wu Yi offered Dragon Cave Mountain to Yang Kai due to its desolate nature, knowing that her clan, the Hai Ke Family, would have no complaints about the matter. However, Yang Kai plans to develop Dragon Cave Mountain tremendously, and soon looks for an Artifact Refining Expert to help him in this endeavor. Upon searching for master in the nearby Heavenly Fate City, Yang Kai ends up meeting and befriending a female Artifact Refining Expert, named Yang Yan, despite her terrible reputation within the Artifact Refining Hall. Later, Yang Kai joyfully discovers that Yang Yan also happens to be an extremely talented Array Master.

Overtime, Yang Kai and Yang Yan continue developing Dragon Cave Mountain from a desolate landscape into an incredible Treasure Land. During this time, they also build up some significant money stores through lucrative business dealings in the nearby Heavenly Fate City. Through these business dealings, Yang Kai befriends the 3rd Order Origin Returning Realm Great Elder, Qian Tong, of Shadow Moon Hall, one of the major Sects of Shadowed Star. After subsequently coming out on top in conflicts with two of the nearby families, Yang Kai establishes himself as a powerful and influential individual in the region. This eventually allows him to participate in the exclusive opening of the Flowing Flame Sand Field as a guest of Qian Tong and Shadow Moon Hall.

In the Flowing Flame Sand Field, Yang Kai obtains a lot of benefits, and continues to develop Dragon Cave Mountain into even more of a Treasure Land. After more conflicts and adventures, Yang Kai eventually makes enemies with numerous jealous and weary Sects on Shadowed Star. He also learns that Yang Yan is actually a Soul Clone of the famous Starry Sky Great Emperor. When the Emperor Garden comes to float above Dragon Cave Mountain due to its attraction to Yang Yan, Yang Kai and the others have no choice but to abandon their home after it's destroyed in a battle to defend themselves from some of the envious major Sects of Shadowed Star. However, after safely leaving Dragon Cave Mountain on a Yang Yan built Origin King Grade Starship, Yang Kai manages to form a new base for his newly formed High Heaven Sect within the Flowing Flame Sand Field.

After promoting to the Origin Returning Realm, Yang Kai takes a trip into the Emperor Garden. In the Emperor Garden, he runs into the familiar faces of Bi Luo, Shan Qing Luo, and Xue Yue. He then learns that Shan Qing Luo, the ”Beguiling Demon Queen” he was affiliated with back in his original world, is now a Princess of Monster Emperor Star. After escaping from Xue Yue once again, Yang Kai returns to Shadowed Star. Upon eventually returning to High Heaven Sect with the young but powerful Lin Yun'er, Yang Kai finds that Yang Yan has gone into isolation within the deepest layer of the Flowing Flame Sand Field in order to re-consolidate her identity and power as the Starry Sky Great Emperor.

Later, Star Emperor Mountain's Great Elder, as the current leader of the undisputed most powerful Sect on Shadowed Star, comes to covet High Heaven Sect's Origin King Grade Starship. Likewise, he subsequently organizes a collaboration with Thunder Typhoon Sect and Heaven Battling Union, as Shadowed Star's next two most powerful Sects, in a bid to move against Yang Kai. As a result of this conflict, Yang Kai ends up destroying all 3 Sects, making High Heaven Sect essentially the new top Sect of Shadowed Star.

Returning to Tong Xuan Realm

Yang Kai then decides to leave Shadowed Star on the Origin King Grade Starship in order to look for Tong Xuan Realm and Su Yan. Upon returning to Tong Xuan Realm, Yang Kai finds that it is actually dying, with its World Energy being much weaker than other Cultivation Stars. He eventually helps Xia Ning Chang to become the Star Master of Tong Xuan Realm in order to help it survive. After returning to his original world for a little while, Yang Kai uses the Void Corridor that Shan Qing Luo used to end up on Monster Emperor Star. There, he eventually befriends her master and righteous mother, Chi Yue, who carries a Heavenly Moon Demon Spider-related Variant Divine Spirit Bloodline like Shan Qing Luo. Yang Kai then later goes with Shan Qing Luo and other Origin Returning Realm Monster Race masters to participate in the Blood Prison Trial on Green Mountains Star.

In the Blood Prison Trial, Yang Kai manages to obtain an Origin Essence Crystal he promised to Chi Yue. However, this unfortunately attracts the attention and coveting of Green Mountains Star's 2nd Order Origin King Realm Star Master, Luo Hai. After delaying some time for Qian Tong's successful promotion to the Origin King Realm upon exiting the Blood Prison, Yang Kai makes adept use of Space Force in escaping an enraged Luo Hai as the latter pursues him all the way to Scarlet Wave Star. Here, Yang Kai manages to hide within his Sealed World Bead for nearly a year before inadvertently and joyfully discovering that Scarlet Wave Star's Ice Heart Valley contains Su Yan. After numerous events within Ice Heart Valley, Yang Kai and Su Yan eventually use the Yin-Yang Joyous Unification Art along with a previously unused Star Emperor Token to kill Luo Hai.

Corpse War

When Yang Kai returns to Shadowed Star, he finds it being overrun by a group of monsters called the Corpse Spirit Race, now organized as the mysterious Corpse Spirit Religion. His High Heaven Sect gave asylum to numerous Sects while he was away, but these ungrateful Sects drove the original High Heaven Sect members deeper into the Flowing Flame Sand Field. Infuriated, Yang Kai brutally destroys the ring leading Sects on the spot, only sparing the rest after making them concede to some conditions.

After resettling High Heaven Sect and integrating the members from Tong Xuan Realm into it, Yang Kai briefly meets with the Soul Avatar of the still sleeping Yang Yan within her Knowledge Sea. Here, Yang Yan informs him that he needs to seek out the Corpse Spirit Religion Master, whom she suspects is the cultivator who injured her in the past, in order to put and end to the true danger of the Corpse Spirit Religion. Yang Kai then takes Qian Tong along with him as he pays a visit to their Religion Master in Grand Burial Valley.

The Religion Master of the Corpse Spirit Religion turns out to actually be the possessed former disciple of Flowing Cloud Valley, Lu Ye, whom Yang Kai had previously conflicted with in the Flowing Flame Sand Field. Though Yang Kai and Qian Tong manage to destroy Lu Ye's body, the strange and powerful Divine Soul that possessed it manages to continuously escape and evade the two powerhouses for several days by continuously jumping into new hosts without any signs of weakening, something that Yang Kai previously believed to be impossible.

Again seeking help from the still sleeping Yang Yan, Yang Kai returns to meet with her Soul Avatar. Here, Yang Kai learns that the mysterious Divine Soul does indeed belong to the Insect Emperor, the cultivator who, over 10,000 years ago, significantly injured Yang Yan before falling to her. After warning Yang Kai of a fully cultivated Insect Emperor's ability to destroy the entire Star Field, Yang Yan's Soul Avatar significantly helps Yang Kai to become the Star Master of Shadowed Star. This allows Yang Kai to finally track down and destroy the Divine Soul of the Insect Emperor.

Subsequently, after some more adventures on Shadowed Star, including an accidental visit to its 3rd and final Forbidden Zone of Shadowed Soul Island, Yang Kai solidifies High Heaven Sect as the leader of Shadowed Star. He then sets up Space Arrays around Shadowed Star for easier travel and trading routes, before later setting out to make a Cross-Cultivation Star Space Array network between Tong Xuan Realm and Shadowed Star.

The Severed World

On his way to Tong Xuan Realm, Yang Kai ends up getting sidetracked after he is ambushed by a 1st Order Origin King Realm Elder of Sword Union, who was looking to kill the Union's Young Master, Gu Jian Xin. After rescuing Gu Jian Xin, Yang Kai is invited to Azure Tree Star, where he learns from its Master, Luo Lan, about the mystery of the Severed World. During the events within the Severed World, Yang Kai again runs into both Xue Yue and Gui Zu on separate occasions, with the former sparking a mutual romance with him, and the latter agreeing to become a Supreme Elder of High Heaven Sect. Though he later comes into conflict with Purple Star's 2nd Order Origin King Realm Master, Zi Long, Yang Kai manages to steal the legendary Immortal Tree from under the nose of the Severed World's seemingly impossibly powerful Seven Colored Radiant Peacock, and ends up being chased back into the Star Field by this infuriated Divine Bird.

Fortunately, the Divine Bird is eventually forced to retreat back to the Severed World due to the rejection of the Heng Luo Star Field's World Principles, but Zi Long continues to pursue Yang Kai and the Immortal Tree until the latter ends up back on the Floating Continent. Once here, Yang Kai allows his Embodiment to refine the Floating Continent as he himself promotes to the Origin King Realm. Yang Kai then kills both Zi Long and his arrogant son, Zi Dong, before finally arriving at Tong Xuan Realm.

A Higher World

However, Yang Kai runs into the Soul Wisp of a powerful martial artist of a higher realm on Tong Xuan Realm. Upon Yang Kai's return to Shadowed Star, a now fully awakened Yang Yan explains to him that he must reach the higher world the strange cultivator comes from and then become the Star Field Master of the Heng Luo Star Field in order to prevent even more powerful foes from trying to invade it. After learning some of the mysteries of Star Boundary from Yang Yan, Yang Kai proceeds to confront the powerful cultivator when he comes to Shadowed Star. Yang Kai then finds that, even as a 1st Order Origin King Realm Star Master, he is not an opponent of this cultivator. However, Yang Yan quickly intervenes before a real battle can begin and takes the helpless foreign martial artist prisoner. Yang Yan then departs from the Heng Luo Star Field.

Having learned from Yang Yan that he needs to collect all 9 Star Emperor Tokens and at least six 3rd Order Origin Kings in order to go to Star Boundary, Yang Kai sets out once again from Shadowed Star. After numerous adventures, Yang Kai manages to collect the last 3 Star Emperor Tokens from the Star Field's 3 major forces, becomes unofficially married to Shan Qing Luo and Xue Yue, and allies himself with the requisite number of 3rd Order Origin Kings. During this time, Yang Kai also sets up a Cross-Cultivation Star Space Array network across the Heng Luo Star Field for more convenient travel. After spending a year with Su Yan, Xia Ning Chang, Shan Qing Luo, and Xue Yue, Yang Kai sets out with the 3rd Order Origin Kings: Ai Ou, Chi Yue, Gu Cang Yun , Wu Dao, and Gui Zu, in order to finally travel to the higher world. They then combine their strength, with the additional assistance of Long Tian Shang of the Heng Luo Chamber of Commerce, in order to power the 9 Star Emperor Tokens and open up the Star Gate to the Starlight Corridor leading to Star Boundary.

Starlight Corridor

In the Starlight Corridor, Yang Kai and the others find that the Saint Qi in their bodies is being slowly turned into the significantly more powerful and potent Source Qi, with the Star Masters Yang Kai and Ai Ou having a significant advantage in the speed of this process. However, things go awry when the group eventually runs into a group of cultivators from another Star Field. This group, which stems from the Grand Desolation Star Field, is far more advanced and knowledgeable about Star Boundary relative to the Heng Luo Star Field. Their leader, Yin Le Sheng, was the first cultivator of the Grand Desolation Star Field, and has already spent years in the Starlight Corridor in order to convert most of his Saint Qi into Source Qi. A malevolent individual, Yin Le Sheng then ruthlessly attacks Yang Kai's group with the two cultivators he press-ganged into his service. Yang Kai is then forced to destroy the Starlight Corridor, separating him from Xiao Xiao, Liu Yan, and his allies from the Heng Luo Star Field.

Arrival in Star Boundary

Upon arriving in Star Boundary, Yang Kai quickly becomes acquainted with Liu Xian Yun of the Grand Desolation Star Field group, and finds that she is actually an affable person. However, they shortly after end up being placed into the prison of Blue Feather Sect after being captured by some disciples under suspicion of being spies for one of their rivals. After being released from the prison, Yang Kai is forced to join Blue Feather Sect by Bian Yu Qing, one of the four 3rd Order Dao Source Realm Protectors that currently govern the Sect. Eventually, when Bian Yu Qing is away, Yang Kai is again placed into prison by one of Blue Feather Sect's other Protectors.

In the Prison, Yang Kai frees a powerful prisoner by the name of Wu Meng Chuan in exchange for an extremely evil Secret Art known as Heaven Devouring Battle Law, once used by the legendary and infamous Heaven Devouring Great Emperor. As the subject of a previous mutiny by the 4 Protectors, Sect Master Wu Meng Chuan slaughters the 3 Protectors present in the Sect as Yang Kai is allowed to escape with Liu Xian Yun. Yang Kai then refuses to practice Heaven Devouring Battle Law due to his suspicion of it harboring horrendous side effects, and instead gives it to his Embodiment for both study and practice.

Adventures in Maplewood City

Yang Kai then travels alone to Maplewood City, where he meets Mo Xiao Qi. Together, they join a group of cultivators in hunting down a "Firebird" until its mother suddenly shows up and saves it, wiping out every cultivator that is unable to escape from the area in the process. Starting anew, Yang Kai finds work as an Alchemist in Maplewood City, and eventually attends an open event to enter the Five Colored Treasure Pagoda of Star Soul Palace, the Sect of the Bright Moon Great Emperor. Yang Kai gains many benefits in the Pagoda, and at one point meets Zhang Gao Xuan, the dying Patriach of the Zhang family. In exchange for a Dao Source Fruit, Yang Kai promises Zhang Gao Xuan that he will return his Space Ring and last words to his family.

Eventually arriving at the 3rd Layer of the Pagoda thanks to the assistance of Mo Xiao Qi, Yang Kai encounters the extraordinary opportunity to sense its broken World Principles, allowing him to take his first steps in transferring the strength of Space Principles instead of Space Force despite still being an Origin King. After leaving the Pagoda, Yang Kai bears witness to the fact that a Wood Demon that was released within the Pagoda has infected some of the surviving participants. Yang Kai then waits as the 6 Emperor Realm representatives overlooking the event help to contain the outbreak.

Later, Yang Kai visits the Zhang Family before proceeding to protect them from their former allies in the Lu Family, whose Patriarch betrayed and killed Zhang Gao Xuan in the Pagoda. While wiping out the Lu Family, Yang Kai finds that they possess a strange Space Spirit Jade that resonates with the Zhang Family teenager, Zhang Ruo Xi. Mistaking Yang Kai's interest in Zhang Ruo Xi to be for "other reasons", the eternally grateful Zhang Family show great eagerness in allowing her to subsequently follow Yang Kai.

Reuniting with Liu Yan

Yang Kai later attends an auction in Maplewood City, where he is eventually surprised to find that Liu Yan is actually one of its prime attractions. However, Yang Kai is unable to acquire the extremely popular Liu Yan, and she falls into the hands of Ning Yuan Cheng, an arrogant Young Master of the famous nearby influence, Flying Saint Palace. Likewise, Ning Yuan Cheng is surrounded at all times by strong Dao Source Realm guards. After the auction, Yang Kai follows Ning Yuan Cheng's group with the intention to steal Liu Yan.

However, another powerful Dao Source Realm cultivator, named Han Leng, ambushes Ning Yuan Cheng's group first and ends up killing them all with the help of a powerful Spirit Array. During their battle, Yang Kai learns that Han Leng is actually a fugitive as a former disciple of Star Soul Palace. When Yang Kai approaches the injured Han Leng with the hopes of somehow acquiring Liu Yan, the latter is unexpectedly ambushed and killed by a Wood Demon that had unknowingly infected Ning Yuan Cheng's body. Yang Kai manages to kill the Wood Demon with the help of Liu Yan, and from its body he finds a strange Two-Colored Seed. After planting the Seed into the Medicine Garden of his Sealed World Bead, Yang Kai returns to Maplewood City before finding a Dragon Island Token in the possessions of Han Leng.

Ancient Demon Qi

Later, Yang Kai promotes to the Dao Source Realm in large part due to a trip into an Alchemy-based Cave Mansion that belonged to a deceased, expelled disciple of the Wondrous Pill Great Emperor. Upon returning to Maplewood City, Yang Kai finds out that Zhang Ruo Xi has been kidnapped by the local Jiang Family, and has been sent to work in their mines. Though he shortly thereafter manages to rescue her, Yang Kai accidently breaks a Seal within the Jiang Family mines, causing the release of an extremely potent and corrosive Ancient Demon Qi. Yang Kai escapes back to Maplewood City before helping it to endure a siege from both the Ancient Demon Qi and the various monsters it spawns. Eventually, he uses a powerful Black Tortoise Array with the Qin Family Old Ancestor, Hua Qing Si, the Maplewood City City Master, Vice City Master, and another 3rd Order Dao Source Realm cultivator of Flying Saint Palace in order to go through the Ancient Demon Qi and seal off the leak in the mines.

However, the cowardly Vice City Master, Zhuang Pan, ends up abandoning the Formation in a critical moment, and Yang Kai is corroded by the Ancient Demon's Black Purgatory Eye as most of the others escape. Before he completely loses his mind, he takes Hua Qing Si into his Sealed World Bead after she protects him from the Flying Saint Palace cultivator. Now appearing as a Demon, Yang Kai fends off 3 of the Emperor Realm cultivators who oversaw the Five Colored Treasure Pagoda event in Chen Wen Hao of Heavenly Martial Holy Land, Feng Ming of Orthodoxy Temple, and Gao Xue Ting of Azure Sun Temple, before eventually using the Two-Colored Seed he planted in his Sealed World Bead to seal the Black Purgatory Eye's Ancient Demon Qi and regain his consciousness.

Azure Sun Temple

During these events, Yang Kai also befriends the Qin Family Old Ancestor, Qin Zhao Yang, along with its Young Lady, Qin Yu. After learning that Qin Yu's life is threatened by her World Tribulation Body, Yang Kai heads to Azure Sun Temple in order to ask for a Tribulation Fruit in order to save her. Once at Azure Sun Temple, Yang Kai ends up joining their elite disciples in going to Four Seasons Realm, which is said to have belonged to the legendary Flowing Time Great Emperor. During the Four Seasons Realm experience, Star Seals, which allow access to the legendary Shattered Star Sea, appear, and Yang Kai ends up obtaining 7 of them. Yang Kai also becomes famous here for refining the Extraordinary Treasure Pill, which practically guarantees promotion to the Emperor Realm. After a very successful trip to Four Seasons Realm, Yang Kai returns to Azure Sun Temple and enters their Divine Ascension Mirror World, where he greatly strengthens his Divine Soul. During his time in the Mirror World, Yang Kai makes a promise to its most powerful soul, Tian Yan, to refine a Flesh Incarnation Pill in order to bring him into the physical world one day.

After leaving the Mirror World, Yang Kai makes his way back to Maplewood City and saves Qin Yu. After some other events, including dealing with some arrogant Young Masters, Yang Kai ends up discovering a World Energy Spring from the former site of the Ancient Demon Qi, attracting the attention of all the major Sects of Southern Territory. Yang Kai, now extremely famous within Southern Territory, is subsequently convinced by Gao Xue Ting to accept an Inner Sect Disciple Token from Azure Sun Temple in order to keep other Sects from coveting him.

Reunion with Old Friends

After these events, Yang Kai is eventually convinced by Ye Jing Han, the Young Lady of Thousand Leaves Sect, to use his skill in Space Force in order to help her Sect to recover its legacy. In the process of accomplishing this, Yang Kai discovers that Luo Jin, the City Master oppressing Thousand Leaves Sect, is actually trying to forcefully marry Chi Yue while holding Yang Kai's other companions from the Starlight Corridor captive. Yang Kai then rescues Chi Yue, Ai Ou, Gui Zu and Gu Cang Yun. Upon returning to Thousand Leaves Sect, Yang Kai obtains a puppet body for Liu Yan, restores Thousand Leaves Sect’s access to their legacy, and crushes all the Sects that oppose them along with a vengeful Luo Jin, whom he formerly spared. Chi Yue and the others decide to stay with Thousand Leaves Sect while Yang Kai moves on.

Bing Yun

Yang Kai then travels toward Eastern Territory, but, along the way, he ends up accidentally tempting a 3rd Order Emperor Realm cultivator with a severely injured Divine Soul, and is chased into what is known as the Solitary Void Secret Boundary. After momentarily unsealing the Ancient Demon Qi within his body, Yang Kai manages to kill the weakened 3rd Order Emperor despite his 3rd Order Dao Source Realm cultivation level, but he still finds himself momentarily stuck in this strange world. The Secret Boundary is soon found by Yang Kai to also have an extremely inconvenient and unique quality, in that its World Energy is impossible to cultivate without significantly damaging one's meridians.

After toiling for a while within this Secret Boundary, Yang Kai eventually happens upon an Ice Heart Pavilion faction. In this faction, he stumbles upon Bing Yun, a 3rd Order Emperor, who turns out to be the Ancestral Founder of Scarlet Wave Star's Ice Heart Valley. As Su Yan's Martial Ancestor, Yang Kai has a deep respect and affinity for Bing Yun, and they quickly form a mutual friendship. They later escape the Secret Boundary together with some new disciples for Bing Yun.

Northern Territory and Shattered Star Sea

Having appeared in Northern Territory, Yang Kai heads toward Ice Heart Valley with Bing Yun. However, they unfortunately find that it is being oppressed by Seeking Passion Sect and its Young Master, Feng Xi. Yang Kai then embarrasses Seeking Passion Sect multiple times and defeats Feng Xi. However, before he can finish the latter off, the Shattered Star Sea, which was formed when the Heaven Devouring Great Emperor killed four other Great Emperors in a massive war within the lower Star Fields before apparently dying himself, suddenly opens.

After entering Shattered Star Sea, Yang Kai frees Zhang Ruo Xi and Hua Qing Si from the Sealed World Bead so that they can obtain their own beneficial experiences. Yang Kai then obtains many benefits from Shattered Star Sea, including Phoenix True Fire, left behind by the deceased Martial Flame Great Emperor, and the Mountains and Rivers Bell, left behind by the deceased Yuan Ding Great Emperor, as well as a trip into the Secret Boundary’s legendary Source Sea. However, Yang Kai also kills many Sect Elite Disciples, including Feng Xi, who used the Soul Descent of his 3rd Order Emperor Realm father, Feng Xuan, before dying. This earns Yang Kai a ton of enmity back in Star Boundary. Yang Kai also ends up killing Wu Meng Chuan, effectively ending Blue Feather Sect.

Eventually, after they come across a collection of hundreds of complete Star Sources, the talented disciples within the Shattered Star Sea discover a Black Hole with a Skeleton and Space Ring within it. While Yang Kai is fighting with recently promoted Emperors over the right to enter the Black Hole, the Bustling World Great Emperor, disguised as an Old Swindler, appears. However, his true identity is eventually only discovered by Lan Xun and Yao Si as the daughter and son of the Bright Moon and Serene Soul Great Emperors respectively. The Old Swindler then fails to convince many of those present, except for Lan Xun, Yao Si, and those loyal to them, to leave the Black Hole alone. This being the case, he seems to somehow collect the Space Ring from the Skeleton across the Void and then throw it into the distance. This is highly effective, and almost everyone is drawn away from the Black Hole. Meanwhile, an unconvinced Yang Kai remains behind as the Old Swindler enters the Black Hole.

Wu Kuang Lives

The Skeleton turns out to belong to the still living Heaven Devouring Great Emperor, Wu Kuang. Having inadvertently followed the Bustling World Great Emperor, Duan Hong Chen, into the Black Hole through a Jade Slip he collected from the deceased Wu Meng Chuan, Yang Kai then watches as the latter fights to prevent Wu Kuang from regaining his full flesh body. However, the incredible battle between these two extraordinary cultivators stimulates Yang Kai, causing him to have an extraordinarily powerful and conspicuous breakthrough to the Emperor Realm. Wu Kuang and Duan Hong Chen are then shocked by the power of Yang Kai's breakthrough, and the fact that it even includes the World Force. Wu Kuang then states that Yang Kai is sure to die from this attempt. Likewise, Wu Kuang is then absolutely astonished when Yang Kai survives the breakthrough, something he knows that even he wouldn't have been capable of.

Shortly after this, Wu Kuang's body is destroyed, but his surviving Divine Soul manages to invade Yang Kai’s Knowledge Sea. However, before the latter's body can be seized by Wu Kuang, Duan Hong Chen enters Yang Kai's Knowledge Sea to help hold the Heaven Devouring Great Emperor off. Yang Kai then uses a powerful Divine Soul attack at the urging of Duan Hong Chen to take both him and Wu Kuang out together. Hong Chen and Wu Kuang are then subsequently devastated by Yang Kai's incredibly powerful Divine Soul attack. When Yang Kai subsequently sees Duan Hong Chen's dying physical body, he decides to try and save him with a leaf of the Immortal Tree. Surprisingly, this causes Duan Hong Chen's body to wake up with two Divine Souls. However, though he now shares the control of his body with the Divine Soul of Wu Kuang, Duan Hong Chen still serves as the dominant Soul. After leaving the Shattered Star Sea with Yang Kai, Duan Hong Chen seeks a way to rectify this error as he quickly parts ways with Yang Kai in the Eastern Territory of Star Boundary.

Eastern Territory

Back in Shattered Star Sea, Yang Kai learned from his enemy Yin Le Sheng of the Netherworld Sect that Xiao Xiao appeared within the Eastern Territory with the latter back when the Starlight Corridor was destroyed. Xiao Xiao then fled Yin Le Sheng’s pursuit to the Ancient Wild Lands, which is the origin of the Mountains and Rivers Bell and famously ruled by 32 3rd Order Emperor Realm comparable Monster Kings. These Monster Kings are in turn led by 4 Divine Spirits known as Fan Wu, Cang Gou, Luan Feng, and Shi Huo.

On his way through Eastern Territory, Yang Kai’s possession of Mo Xiao Qi, whom he met again in Shattered Star Sea, results in another encounter with Jiu Feng and Li Wu Yi, who want to take the Young Lady back to Spirit Beast Island. Having no objections, Yang Kai also allows Jiu Feng to take Liu Yan, who is attempting to refine the Phoenix True Fire Yang Kai found in Shattered Star Sea, with the hope that she can successfully start on the path of becoming a true Phoenix Divine Spirit.

Ancient Wild Lands

After some brief detours, including both the rescue of Gao Xue Ting from the machinations of a treacherous Elder of Eastern Territory’s Brahma Holy Land and the acquisition of a Flesh Incarnation Fruit, Yang Kai and Zhang Ruo Xi continue toward the Ancient Wild Lands. In the Ancient Wild Lands, Yang Kai is ambushed by a group of Netherworld Sect cultivators, lead by Yin Le Sheng, and is provoked into killing them all. In addition, upon their arrival in the Ancient Wild Lands, Zhang Ruo Xi has a strange resonance and attraction to its Blood Gate, a legendary existence that is said to hold the Divine Spirit Source inheritances of the Ancient Wild Lands’ inhabitants. During further adventures into the Ancient Wild Lands, Yang Kai and Ruo Xi eventually stumble upon a disheveled and wild-looking woman, whom Yang Kai later deduces is Bing Yun's long-lost "Third Disciple." The Third Disciple has been missing from Ice Heart Valley for almost 3,000 years after disappearing during her search for Bing Yun in the Eastern Territory. Seeking to bring her back to her home, Yang Kai chases the Third Disciple around the Ancient Wild Lands before he eventually connects with the Stone Puppet Clan.

Fortunately, Xiao Xiao is also found to be with the Stone Puppet Clan, who receive Yang Kai as an honored guest in their home. The Stone Puppet and Wood Spirit Clan Elders then convince Yang Kai to help them siege the Blood Gate, which is defended by the 32 Monsters Kings and 4 Divine Venerables of the Ancient Wild Lands, in order to help Xiao Xiao to inherit the Tai Yue Divine Spirit Source. Yang Kai eventually agrees with their plan, but the siege fails. Fortunately, Yang Kai manages to trap Shi Huo, the most belligerent of the Divine Venerables, within the Mountains and Rivers Bell in order to hold him hostage. However, after making a deal with the other 3 Divine Venerables to allow the Stone Puppet Clan, Ruo Xi, and the Third Disciple to escape, Shi Huo betrays the deal and brutally attacks Yang Kai. The other 3 Divine Venerable do not intervene, and Yang Kai is then beaten severely as Shi Huo refuses to stop. This infuriates Zhang Ruo Xi, and causes her bloodline to finally awaken with the terrifying aura of Heaven's Order. Her bloodline then resonates with the Blood Gate as it sends out a shocking strength, which greatly suppresses the Divine Spirits present.

Zhang Ruo Xi proceeds to brutally slaughter the previously arrogant and belligerent Shi Huo as he begs for mercy, and gives his Divine Spirit Source to Yang Kai's Embodiment for refining. She then takes Xiao Xiao and enters the Blood Gate to receive the full legacy of Heaven's Order. The Ancient Wild Lands' remaining 3 Divine Venerables have no option but to treat Yang Kai, and by extension the Stone Puppet Clan, with the upmost respect for fear of facing the return of Heaven's Order. Yang Kai eventually departs from the Ancient Wild Lands with the Third Disciple, whom he learns is named Ji Yao, after receiving Shi Huo's entire fortune in addition to some gifts from the other 3 Divine Venerables as compensation for his troubles.

Return to Northern Territory

Yang Kai takes Ji Yao back to Northern Territory to return her to Ice Heart Valley. Ji Yao, a 2nd Order Emperor, is mentally confused and believes Yang Kai to be Bing Yun. Yang Kai uses this to keep her stable for the trip. However, Yang Kai learns that Seeking Passion Sect is leading all of Northern Territory to suppress and destroy Ice Heart Valley due to Bing Yun sheltering Yang Kai after he killed Feng Xi, and Ji Yao regains her senses upon reuniting with Bing Yun. As the war kicks off, Yang Kai goes back to the Ancient Wild Lands and convinces the 3 Divine Venerable to lend him three Monster Kings: Ying Fei, Xi Lei, and Xie Wu Wei.

These Monster Kings actually willingly volunteer to serve Yang Kai and overcome fierce competition in order to do so. This is because all of the 32 Monster Kings want to curry his favor, enter the Blood Gate, and gain access to their Divine Spirit heritage through Heaven's Order. Yang Kai creates a Cross-Territory Space Array to return back to Ice Heart Valley with the 3 Monster Kings. With their help, Yang Kai helps lead Ice Heart Valley to a decisive victory over Seeking Passion Sect. With Seeking Passion Sect wiped out, Yang Kai takes their now empty treasure land and forms a new sect by the name of High Heaven Palace.

Southern Territory Events

Yang Kai returns to Southern Territory with Monster King Ying Fei at his side to retrieve his friends from Thousand Leaves Sect, with the plan to now place them in his newly established High Heaven Palace. However, he shortly afterward finds that Thousand Leaves Sect has been destroyed by a Sect called Flowing Shadow Sword Sect. Upon storming Flowing Shadow Sword Sect, Yang Kai learns that they were actually only being manipulated behind the scenes, and that an auction will be held soon by his true enemies. However, as he leaves Flowing Shadow Sword Sect, Yang Kai is suddenly attacked by an incredibly strong Dragon Clan female.

Eventually, Yang Kai suppresses this female completely with his Ancestral Dragon Source, and learns that her name is Zhu Qing. However, he feels an incredibly strong and irresistible sexual attraction to this female through his Dragon Bloodline. Eventually, Zhu Qing stops trying to force Yang Kai and instead attempts to befriend him at the bequest of Dragon Island's Great Elder, who hopes to have the former return to Dragon Island with Yang Kai. Yang Kai tells Zhu Qing that he'd only befriend her if she brings him some of the best alcohol in Western Territory, to which she seemingly scoffs before departing.

Yang Kai then finds that the auction was a farce set up by Hua Qing Si's Honored Master, Tan Jun Hao, a 3rd Order Emperor Realm Elder of Star Soul Palace, whom wants to take Yang Kai's Sealed World Bead, the Immortal Tree that lies within it, and the Dragon Island Token he acquired from Han Leng. Tan Jun Hao holds Hua Qing Si and Yang Kai's friends from Thousand Leaves Sect hostage within the auction building. Remaining composed, Yang Kai proceeds to buy everything in the auction with his enormous wealth, and everyone in attendance eventually sees there's no point in competing. However, when they try to leave, Tan Jun Hao seals off the Auction House with no intention of letting anyone escape until Yang Kai is dealt with. During the ensuing battle, Yang Kai shockingly kills many Emperor Realm cultivators before managing to shield many of those forced to fight against their will within the Mountains and Rivers Bell.

Yang Kai eventually manages to kill Tan Jun Hao, and takes his extraordinary Golden Armor Heavenly Book Artifact as a prize. Upon awakening from exhaustion due to the hard fought battle, Yang Kai finds himself once again faced with Zhu Qing, who actually went to Western Territory in order to buy the alcohol he requested. Yang Kai, touched, agrees to be her friend but still refuses to go to Dragon Island. Stubborn, Zhu Qing resolves to follow Yang Kai until he agrees. After recovering his friends along with the assets of Thousand Leaves Sect, Yang Kai convinces them to take safe haven in his High Heaven Palace, and then proceeds to send them there through a Space Array.

Rise of the High Heaven Palace

Yang Kai quickly establishes High Heaven Palace as a major force in Northern Territory. With 3 Monster Kings, an Array Grandmaster in Nanmen Da Jun, and Hua Qing Si placed as Head Manager, he eventually attains Ji Ying, a disciple of the Wondrous Pill Great Emperor, as his Chief Alchemist after defeating him in an Alchemy competition. Through a bet linked to this same competition, Yang Kai attains enormous benefits from the Sect Masters Li Jiao and Mi Qi of Fire Dragon Palace and Full Sky Sect respectively. These are two of the of the top 4 Sects of Northern Territory, along with Ice Heart Valley and now High Heaven Palace. After this occurs, Zhu Qing decides to depart for the "Frozen Earth" of Northern Territory in order to look for a lost Dragon Source, leaving Yang Kai with the True Dragon Transformation Secret Technique before she does so.

Azure Sun Temple Guest Elder

Later, Yang Kai returns to Southern Territory, taking the time to revisit the now bustling Maplewood City along with the nearby Spirit Lake Palace formed around the World Energy Spring he discovered after ridding the area of Ancient Demon Qi. During this time, Yang Kai incidentally happens to again run into Bian Yu Qing, who is being pursued by enemies. After rescuing a distraught Bian Yu Qing, Yang Kai decides to help her breakthrough to the Emperor Realm within the Spirit Lake Palace using his status as an Inner Sect Disciple of Azure Sun Temple. Astounded by his kindness, Bian Yu Qing then happily agrees to join High Heaven Palace. As Yang Kai later heads to Azure Sun Temple, he finds that he is being pursued by the Elders of Star Soul Palace, who appear to be seeking answers for the death of Tan Jun Hao.

Upon arriving at Azure Sun Temple, Yang Kai is quickly given asylum by Wen Zi Shan, who makes the former a Guest Elder of the Sect. Unfortunately, the ceremony to celebrate this occasion gets crashed by one of the Star Soul Palace Elders, causing tensions to rise. However, Lan Xun eventually arrives and settles things down with the news that the Bright Moon Great Emperor recognizes that Tan Jun Hao committed numerous nefarious actions through the testimonies of the many Emperor Realm cultivators that Yang Kai rescued during the Auction House events. Lan Xun then offers Yang Kai an award for helping to clean up their Sect in exchange for the Golden Armor Heavenly Book he received off the corpse of Tan Jun Hao. Yang Kai then happily agrees to exchange the Artifact for another month in the Five Colored Treasure Pagoda.

After later successfully recruiting the Emperor Artifact Refiner Hou Yu into High Heaven Palace, Yang Kai again returns to the Southern Territory to pick up Bian Yu Qing. Here, Yang Kai runs into Hua Yu Lu, a friend of Xia Sheng’s, and one of the Emperor Realm cultivators he rescued from Tan Jun Hao. She informs Yang Kai, whom she knows is extraordinarily powerful due to his largely witnessed battle against Tan Jun Hao, that she and a group of cultivators had found an exclusive Cave Mansion, and that she would like Yang Kai to help them crack into it. Yang Kai agrees to do so after his visit to Star Soul Palace.

Thousand Illusions Dreamworld

Yang Kai re-enters the Five Colored Treasure Pagoda and absorbs many Small Worlds into his Sealed World Bead in order to improve its World Principles. Eventually, he goes to the 5th level of the pagoda. On this level, he experiences another lifetime on an Ancient Battlefield, where the Ancient Barbarian Race of Star Boundary fought against the Demon Race of Demon Realm. In this Antiquity Era, Humans cultivated Shamanic Spells due to the differences in the Heavenly Way at the time. Yang Kai, as Ah Niu, eventually trains to the level of High Rank Shaman King (antiquity equivalent of 3rd Order Emperor) and participates in a massive final war against the Demon Race.

In the final sequence of this war, Yang Kai/Ah Niu witnesses as a horrifically giant hand of the mysterious “Great Demon God” forms at the site of the Two Worlds Passage, which connects Star Boundary to Demon Realm, in an attempt to crush the Ancient Barbarian Race’s revered Evergreen Divine Tree. As a Shaman Saint-level existence itself, the Evergreen Divine Tree proceeds to sacrifice itself in an all-or-nothing attempt to close the passage. Under the power of the hand, even a Demon Saint, i.e. Great Emperor, appears absolutely powerless to resist, and Ah Niu himself meets his end. However, the Evergreen Divine Tree’s sacrifice still manages to successfully cut off the Two Worlds Passage, and the prevention of further invasion results in a massive yet costly victory for the Ancient Barbarian Race.

Yang Kai, after regaining his sense of self, meets with the Butterfly Spiritual Wisdom of this Small World and learns that it is called Thousand Illusions Dreamworld. This world allows its user to experience an illusory lifetime of real cultivation in only a few days. Yang Kai, thrilled with the benefits, asks the Butterfly if it would like to go with him to High Heaven Palace, to which it happily obliges. Yang Kai then takes the Thousand Illusions Dreamworld from the Five Colored Treasure Pagoda, inadvertently causing it to become unstable. Though he quickly departs from Star Soul Palace, Yang Kai is momentarily caught in the gaze of the Bright Moon Great Emperor, who fortunately decides to let him go with his trophy.

Southern Swamp

Later, Yang Kai heads with Hua Yu Lu to the Southern Swamp in order to investigate the Cave Mansion. After a while, the group of cultivators manages to infiltrate deep into the swamp until they come across a mysterious door. However, one of the group turns out to have been secretly corroded by Demon Spirits, with the whole expedition actually being an elaborate ruse for the purpose of opening the door. The door is actually a seal responsible for holding back a large amount of Demon Spirits, which can turn even powerful Emperors into servants of the Demon Race. Yang Kai, having luckily just experienced Thousand Illusions Dreamworld, actually has methods to combat the Demon Spirits, but a Demon Spirit still manages to infect the Array Grandmaster and Gong Family Great Elder, Gong Yue, who quickly makes an escape.

The entire Southern Territory, including the major Sects of Star Soul Palace, Azure Sun Temple, Orthodoxy Temple, and Heavenly Martial Holy Land, are all on high alert after learning of the release of a Demon Spirit. Eventually, Yang Kai and dozens of Emperor Realm leaders track down the primary culprit, Gong Yue, to Yang Kai's Spirit Peak home at Azure Sun Temple. Here, Gong Yue makes use of a black dog-like creature that lives at Yang Kai's Spirit Peak in order to fend off the attackers for a while before he is eventually killed. However, before his death, he manages to release a large amount of Demon Spirits from a hole around Yang Kai's Spirit Peak.

To make matters worse, Wu Kuang/Duan Hong Chen comes to Yang Kai's Spirit Peak after visiting Tian Yan in the Divine Ascension Mirror World. Having now become the more dominant of the two personalities, Wu Kuang smugly chats with Yang Kai for a while before opening the Sect's Protective Array, allowing the Demon Spirits to escape before his departure. Before anyone can regain their composure at this bizarre sight, Zhu Lie, the brother of Zhu Qing, comes to attack Yang Kai in order to bring him back to Dragon Island. However, Yang Kai proceeds to use the True Dragon Transformation Technique in order to combat and eventually suppress Zhu Lie. As the entire Southern Territory subsequently moves to combat the enigmatic and difficult to trace Demon Spirits, Yang Kai fulfills his promise to Tian Yan by delivering a Flesh Incarnation Pill to him, allowing the latter to finally enter the physical world.

Revolving World

After these events, Yang Kai learns from Zhu Lie that Dragon Island has heard nothing from Zhu Qing since she departed for Frozen Earth. Concerned, Yang Kai again goes to Fire Dragon Palace in order to collect Li Jao, who has been to Frozen Earth, and proceeds to head there with both the latter and Zhu Lie. Upon arriving in Frozen Earth, the three cultivators find the empty Dragon Corpse that Zhu Qing was searching for, but no sign of Zhu Qing herself. Suddenly, a mysterious Frozen Tide hits the trio, and they end up scattered and separated into a Small World. Yang Kai then manages to find Zhu Qing, who is suffering from the conflicting Divine Spirit Source of the dead Dragon within her body. Yang Kai activates his own Dragon Source in order to save Zhu Qing, and she ends up having sex with him. From this encounter, Zhu Qing miraculously develops from an 8th Order Dragon Bloodline to a 9th Order, good enough to be an Elder on Dragon Island.

After collecting themselves, the two eventually manage to stumble upon Human Race cultivators. They then enter a Human Race city that is protected from the Demon Qi that frequently invades this mysterious Revolving World. In the city, Yang Kai learns that his Emperor Realm cultivation level does not mean much, and that it is instead dominated by a Royal Family that makes use of special powers to dominate even those with superior cultivation to their own. Upon encountering a particularly arrogant Royal, Yang Kai recognizes these powers as Shamanic Spells.

Being a Shaman King himself, Yang Kai then usurps control of the Human Imperial City’s Sacred Tree, which is actually the surviving body of the Evergreen Divine Tree he saw in Thousand Illusions Dreamworld, from the Royal family, forcing them to accept him and Zhu Qing as honored guests. After learning the location of the exit from the Revolving World, Yang Kai and Zhu Qing eventually make their departure. Upon leaving the city, they proceed to track down Zhu Lie and Li Jiao, who had been surviving in the outer area by constantly fighting against both the Demon Race and their Demon Qi. After confronting even more Demons on the way to the exit, the group find their way out of the Small World due to Yang Kai's proficiency in controlling Space Principles, which allows him to relatively safely guide them through the Void.

Western Territory

After leaving the Void, Yang Kai finds that he is separated from Zhu Qing, Zhu Lie, and Li Jiao. While traversing Western Territory, Yang Kai stumbles upon his former niece-like High Heaven Sect disciple, Lin Yun'er, who was taken with Yang Yan at the time the latter arrested Wu Sheng Feng back on Shadowed Star. Lin Yun'er was born with an extremely special and powerful physique, known as the Tyrant Strength Body, and Yang Yan took her to Star Boundary in order to learn from a powerful friend of hers. After destroying a major Western Territory Sect (whose Young Master provoked Lin Yun'er) and robbing their storehouse with Lin Yun'er and Li Jao, Yang Kai tries to take her to High Heaven Palace through a newly built Cross-Territory Space Array. However, Lin Yun'er is suddenly taken back by her Honored Master, and Yang Kai's Space Array is destroyed. Yang Kai then deduces that her master is actually the Iron Blood Great Emperor, recognized as the strongest fighter among the current Great Emperors of Star Boundary.

Dragon Island

After returning to High Heaven Palace, Yang Kai again wants to find Zhu Qing, trumping him experiencing his first ever bottleneck in cultivation. Likewise, he once again approaches Li Jao, and heads off to find Dragon Island. After searching in the Eastern Territory Sea, Yang Kai uses the Dragon Island Token in his possession to direct his way under the ocean, where he finds a Void Corridor that leads to Dragon Island. Later, Yang Kai arrives at Dragon Island's Half-Dragon City. Here, Li Jiao meets his ex-fiancé, Lu San Niang, whom he thought had abandoned him in the past. In reality, Lu San Niang was actually kidnapped by the Dragon Fu Chi, and treated as a sex slave for decades until she gave birth to a daughter with no Dragon Bloodline before being exiled to a life of further misery in Half-Dragon City. After rescuing her and her daughter from being brutalized, Li Jiao starts to rekindle his romance with her while bearing an intense rage toward Fu Chi.

Yang Kai then helps Li Jiao to infiltrate the main Dragon Island by joining a group that is being sent off to build a Wedding Palace for Fu Chi. As he goes on a search for Zhu Qing, Yang Kai eventually finds out that Dragon Island’s Great Emperor-comparable 2nd Elder, Fu Zhun, is furious that Zhu Qing is in love with Yang Kai, and plans to marry her off to Fu Chi in the coming months. It is actually for this reason that the Wedding Palace is being built. During this time, Yang Kai also learns that the 3rd Elder of Dragon Island is imprisoned in the Dragon Grave for a similar reason to why Zhu Qing is being forced to marry Fu Chi. Over the subsequent time spent in preparation for the wedding, Yang Kai also notices that ever since a strange man named Wu Chen was placed in charge of the Palace workers, several Emperor Realm cultivators have gone missing. However, his overall management is good, and the Palace is completed within a month.

The day of the wedding, 3 of Dragon Island's 4 Elders are present, but Yang Kai, who spent the majority of the previous time strengthening his Dragon Bloodline with the Dragon Blood Flowers of Dragon Island, boldly crashes the wedding anyways, immediately taking Fu Chi hostage. After a dramatic showdown between the two, Fu Zhun does not concede to allowing Yang Kai to take Zhu Qing away, even after Yang Kai cuts off both of Fu Chi's arms before threatening to destroy the latter’s Dragon Source. However, before tensions can rise even further, the Dragon Grave is suddenly attacked by the Martial Beast Great Emperor, and Zhu Yan and Fu Zhun have no choice but to fly off to confront him. Yang Kai stays behind, and is faced with the 4th Elder along with the rest of the true Dragon Clansmen. Suddenly, he receives help in the form of Li Wu Yi, Jiu Feng, and the newly born Phoenix Divine Spirit, Liu Yan. It turns out that the 3rd Elder, Fu Xuan, and Mo Huang are actually the parents of Mo Xiao Qi, and that this is what ultimately caused Fu Xuan to be imprisoned in the Dragon Grave. While these forces engage in battle, Yang Kai allows Li Jiao to take this opportunity to chase down and attempt to kill Fu Chi in order to avenge his fiancé.

However, before Li Jiao is dealt a final blow in a hard fought battle with Fu Chi, Wu Chen suddenly appears and uses Heaven Devouring Battle Law to brutally kill the Dragon. All the battles on Dragon Island then stop due to the death of a Dragon Clansman, and everyone eventually pursues Wu Chen, now revealed to actually be Wu Kuang, as he skillfully flees into the Dragon Temple. In the Dragon Temple, Wu Kuang makes a Void Corridor leading to a Star Field. After forcefully submitting the Dragon Elder's with the power of the Dragon Temple, Yang Kai agrees to chase down Wu Kuang as long as the Dragon Elders treat Zhu Qing fairly until he returns. After relieving Fu Xuan of her Dragon Grave Seal, Yang Kai follows Wu Kuang's trail through the Void Corridor.

Ancestral Domain

Yang Kai ends up in the Unending Star Field, where he crashes through a Starship and lands on a Dead Star. After easily killing some evil Origin Kings and rescuing a young family Matriarch by the name of Lu Huai Shuang, Yang Kai accompanies her for a little while before heading off to look for a route to the Ancestral Domain. Yang Kai then comes to the Yan Family, the undisputed most powerful force in the Star Field, who is rumored to have a way to get to the Ancestral Domain. After "convincing" the arrogant Yan Family Patriarch to take him to the Ancestral Domain, Yang Kai eventually arrives there. Over the course of this time, Yang Kai learns that the Ancestral Domain's World Principles allow martial artists to reach as far as the Dao Source Realm, and that the Ancestral Domain is both the origin and connection point for every existing Star Field. However, he still doesn't know how to find the Heng Luo Star Field.

Eventually, Yang Kai finds Wu Kuang/Duan Hong Chen, from whom he learns that the Star Chart in his Knowledge Sea, which he gained from the Chart Master that exploded back when he first entered the Starry Sky, is actually the Source of the Heng Luo Star Field. Therefore, in addition to being capable of inducing its location, Yang Kai can potentially refine the Star Field Source to become the Heng Luo Star Field's Star Field Master. Yang Kai then finds the Heng Luo Star Field near Red Clouds Sect. However, he fortuitously hears that Su Yan is actually at Red Clouds Sect, having arrived there 20 years ago. After displaying outstanding aptitude, she quickly reached the 1st Order Dao Source Realm, causing her to become feared by the higher ups in the Sect, who have a contentious relationship with her righteous Honored Master, Great Elder Ruan Bi Ting.

Before Red Clouds Sect's Sect Master excommunicates her from the Sect, Ruan Bi Ting informs Yang Kai that the Red Clouds Sect leaders decided to try and suppress Su Yan by sending her to a mine with an environment that is extremely unsuitable for her Ice-related cultivation, despite her staunch disapproval. After their attempt to poison him proves woefully unsuccessful, Yang Kai has Liu Yan completely destroy Red Clouds Sect as he heads along with Ruan Bi Ting in order to rescue Su Yan from the mines. Eventually reuniting, the couple spend a few days making love in Yang Kai's Sealed World Bead before finally returning to the Heng Luo Star Field.

Star Field Master

Yang Kai returns to Shadowed Star to find that it is being besieged by Starships. He subsequently learns from High Heaven Sect that the Netherworld Sect of the Grand Desolation Star Field has invaded the Heng Luo Star Field, and has propagated a reign of terror on numerous Cultivation Stars. After crushing the Netherworld Sect forces around Shadowed Star, Yang Kai proceeds to travel the Star Field. Eventually, he completely refines the Star Chart in his Knowledge Sea and becomes the Star Field Master of the Heng Luo Star Field. Meanwhile, the forces of the Grand Desolation Star Field are completely routed.

However, Yang Kai later notices that someone is trying to swallow the Heng Luo Star Field, before finding out that it is the Star Field Master of the Grand Desolation Star Field, Wu Heng. Yang Kai uses this opportunity to summon Embodiment, now with the Divine Spirit Source of Shi Huo, to use Heaven Devouring Battle Law in order to efficiently swallow the Grand Desolation Star Field into the Heng Luo Star Field. Yang Kai then moves further into the Grand Desolation Star Field unimpeded, as Wu Heng cannot both stop him and prevent Embodiment from continuing to swallow his Star Field's foundation. Yang Kai takes this opportunity to practice Heaven Devouring Battle Law through his Sealed World Bead in order to absorb numerous Cultivation Stars of the Grand Desolation Star Field, and the Sealed World Bead even develops its own Artifact Spirit.

Eventually, Wu Heng cries for help from the Star Envoy, Cang Mo, who oversees the Grand Desolation Star Field. Cang Mo doesn't hide the fact that he covets Yang Kai's Sealed World Bead and Mountains and Rivers Bell. Despite his Pseudo-Great Emperor cultivation level, Cang Mo is actually fought to a draw by Yang Kai after losing his Star Envoy Sword, as he becomes susceptible to the rejection of the Star Field's World Principles. However, Yang Yan appears and intervenes before the fight can continue. Yang Kai then catches up with Yang Yan, and learns a little bit about the mystery of Pseudo-Great Emperor and Great Emperor. After this encounter, Yang Kai returns to Shadowed Star, where he gathers his wives, family, friends, and all the most talented individuals of the Star Field, places them in his Sealed World Bead, and brings them back to Star Boundary.

Martial Gathering

Upon reentering Star Boundary, Yang Kai immediately breaks through to the 2nd Order Emperor Realm. After settling everyone down within High Heaven Palace, Yang Kai prepares to attend a Martial Gathering at Orthodoxy Temple as one of his duties as a Guest Elder of Azure Sun Temple. At the Martial Gathering, Yang Kai is impressed with a disciple of Luo Sha Sect, named Yu Zhuo, after he officiates one of her matches. Initially having come to repay a kindness Yang Kai extended to her after the match, Yu Zhuo continues to visit Yang Kai a few times, and even helps him to collect some seeds that he desired for the purpose of further developing the Medicine Garden within his Sealed World Bead. However, Yu Zhuo becomes a little too infatuated with Yang Kai, causing the latter to avoid her for fear of inappropriate developments. When Yang Kai orders his servant to harshly deny his presence during Yu Zhuo's next visit, Yang Kai senses a saddened Yu Zhuo as she looks back toward his door during her departure.

Later, after being lured outside of the confines of Orthodoxy Temple, Yang Kai falls victim to an ambush consisting of both a numerous amount of Demon Spirit-corroded Gathering cultivators and a mysterious assassin. Having taken an extraordinarily powerful blow from this assassin, Yang Kai miraculously manages to survive due to the assailant being unaware of his incredibly powerful Half-Dragon Bloodline and Physique. After considering his fortune, Yang Kai quickly manages to imprison the corroded Emperor Realm cultivators within the Mountains and Rivers Bell. However, upon returning to Orthodoxy Temple, Yang Kai comes across the horrifying sight of Yu Zhuo's lifeless corpse.

Wrecked with guilt and anger, Yang uses a newly built Cross-Territory Space Array to gather the forces of both the Ancient Wild Lands and Northern Territory for the purpose of surrounding and exterminating the Demon Spirits infecting Orthodoxy Temple. Coming to the rescue of Wen Zi Shan, Xiao Bai Yi, Murong Xiao Xiao, Gao Xue Ting, and all the Southern Territory martial artists, Yang Kai, Embodiment, and Liu Yan eventually defeat the Demon Spirit-infected Patriarch of Orthodoxy Temple. Fortunately, with Ah Wang, the Stone Puppet Clan, and the Wood Spirit Clan, Yang Kai and his allies manage to save countless Demon Spirit-corroded cultivators, and finally eradicate the Demon Spirits from Southern Territory. Later, Star Soul Palace arrives on the scene, and they eventually award Yang Kai both Orthodoxy Temple's foundation and their primary inheritance for his merits in the incident. Orthodoxy Temple's foundation then becomes the southern base of High Heaven Palace.

Luo Sha Sect

After the war, Yang Kai pays respect to Yu Zhuo's corpse that was frozen by Ji Yao for preservation. A group of women stand nearby until Yang Kai approaches them. They then reveal themselves as all that is left of Luo Sha Sect, an all female Sect whose only 1st Order Emperor, their Patriarch, died in the battle against the Demon Spirits. They proceed to give Yang Kai some seeds that Yu Zhuo asked them to gather, and Yang Kai chooses to personally follow them back to their Sect so as to become the High Ranking Guest Elder of Luo Sha Sect in an official ceremony.

Later, while traveling in the restricted area of Luo Sha Sect, Yang Kai discovers and enters a Void Crevice. In the Void, Yang Kai shockingly finds a shriveled human woman named Sheng Yu Zhu, who is both a Pseudo-Great Emperor and former colleague of some of the current Great Emperors. Having been betrayed by Wu Kuang before the latter became a Great Emperor, Sheng Yu Zhu has been stuck in the Void for tens of thousands of years.

After coming to trust her, Yang Kai heals Sheng Yu Zhu before allowing her to rest within Luo Sha Sect. Sheng Yu Zhu then decides to take responsibility for Luo Sha Sect as its Martial Ancestor. After holding an official ceremony that is widely attended by Southern Territory out of respect for Yang Kai, Luo Sha Sect has sufficient protection to continue to exist.

Half-Person of Spirit Beast Island

Yang Kai intends to travel to Dragon Island and Spirit Beast Island in order to set up Space Arrays, allowing for easier access and travel to these locations. On his way in Eastern Territory, Yang Kai is ambushed by Fu Bo and Xu Chang Feng, the leaders of Netherworld Sect and Brahma Holy Land respectively, who both have grudges against Yang Kai for killing their Core Disciples at some point. An extraordinarily powerful 2nd Order Emperor Realm master, Yang Kai proceeds to wipe out the ambush party before being further ambushed by Wu Heng. What's more, after briefly chatting with Wu Heng, Yang Kai reveals that he is aware of the true mastermind behind this ambush, causing a shocked Cang Mo to reveal himslef.

As Wu Heng is easily dealt with, Yang Kai engages in a fierce battle with Cang Mo alongside Embodiment. During the hard fought battle, Qiong Qi, the former mount of the Flowing Time Great Emperor, intervenes and swears allegiance to Yang Kai as the inheritor of the Great Emperor's legacy. As the Pseudo-Great Emperor comparable Qiong Qi manages to completely suppress Cang Mo, Li Wu Yi and Jiu Feng arrive, causing the battle to come to an end. With Li Wu Yi and Jiu Feng declaring Yang Kai as a Half-Person of Spirit Beast Island, Cang Mo has no choice but to retreat in defeat. Qiong Qi, whom was escaping the pursuit of Li Wu Yi and Jiu Feng before stumbling upon Yang Kai, quickly seeks asylum from the latter. After warning Yang Kai to keep a tight leash on Qiong Qi, Li Wu Yi and Jiu Feng allow the Divine Spirit to follow the former.

Later, Yang Kai agrees to the Martial Beast Great Emperor's request-by-proxy to take Mo Xiao Qi to Dragon Island in order to visit Fu Xuan. During his trip to Dragon Island, Yang Kai eventually ends up using his own Dragon Source and blood to hatch the hopeless Dragon Egg of Great Elders Zhu Yan and Fu Zhun. The egg is born into a young male White Dragon, self-named Yang Xiao, who recognizes Yang Kai as his father. After some time, this happening dramatically improves the relations between Yang Kai and Dragon Island overall. Yang Kai then departs with Yang Xiao from Dragon Island with the blessing of the Great Elders to serve as Yang Xiao's adoptive father.

Sinister Events

When leaving Dragon Island, Yang Kai, Mo Xiao Qi, Qiong Qi, and Yang Xiao run into a man who has apparently kidnapped Yao Lin, the daughter of the Serene Soul Great Emperor. Before they can react, the cultivator flees after delaying Yang Kai by injuring Yang Xiao. Yang Kai then meets with Mo Huang on Spirit Beast Island, where they learn that, all over Star Boundary, many children and/or disciples of the Great Emperors have gone missing. Yang Kai eventually travels with some Elders from Star Soul Palace to investigate the disappearances, which trace back to the Western Territory of Star Boundary. Eventually coming across a mysterious Void Corridor, Yang Kai and the Elders enter in search of the youths.

Finding himself in a Mysterious Small World, Yang Kai manages to find the missing disciples and/or children of the Great Emperors, most of which he'd met at some point. However, the newly met disciple of the Flower Shadow Great Emperor, Li Shi Qing, turns out to actually be a woman named Yu Ru Meng in disguise. The Small World is then rocked by a battle in which the Iron Blood and Bright Moon Great Emperors are fighting against the Night Shadow Great Emperor. Eventually, Yang Kai and the mysterious Yu Ru Meng, who has bound Yang Kai to herself through a Heart Seal Secret Technique, manage to escape from this Small World.

Demon Realm

Star Boundary learns that Demon Realm is invading it, and a War is started. Yang Kai, with Yu Ru Meng mysteriously by his side, then leads Northern Territory and the forces of the Ancient Wild Lands in an initial clash with the Demon Race while displaying his Shamanic Spells to great effect. After making numerous preparations throughout these battles, including acquiring both the Shamanic cultivators of the Revolving World and the Origin King Realm and above level masters of Dragon Island’s Half-Dragon City to participate in the war effort, Yang Kai emerges as a hero in the Demon War. At some point during this time, Yang Kai is approached by the Great Emperors, who need someone to travel to Demon Realm in order to rescue the Bright Moon Great Emperor. In front of all of his allies, Yang Kai is later confronted by the Iron Blood Great Emperor, who is seemingly furious that Yang Kai’s Embodiment has practiced Heaven Devouring Battle Law. The Iron Blood Great Emperor then orders Yang Kai to abandon his cultivation level. Yang Kai then releases both Embodiment, who is revealed to be a user of Heaven Devouring Battle Law in front of many witnesses, and the Ancient Demon Qi that he sealed within himself to escape from the Iron Blood Great Emperor. Star Boundary then views Yang Kai as a traitor, and High Heaven Palace is forced by the Great Emperors to both withdraw its forces from the battlefield and close up its Sect.

However, this is actually a ruse of the Great Emperors in order to protect Yang Kai's friends and family while he travels to Demon Realm, as well as to help avoid suspicion by the enemy. It works, and Yu Ru Meng reveals herself as one of the twelve Demon Saints upon her and Yang Kai’s successful arrival in Demon Realm. Around this time, Yang Kai learns that the Demon Realm Great World is actually a collection of broken and unstable territories, and that the world will eventually be destroyed. Yu Ru Meng needs someone skilled in Space Principles to help her to save Demon Realm. While being used by multiple Demon Saints to fix their regions broken Territory Gates, Yang Kai eventually befriends the Demon Dragon Chang Tian, who is as respected as a Demon Saint.

Later, Yang Kai finds that Lan Ming Yue, who had been holding his ground for a long time against the powerful Demon Race, is sneak attacked and gravely injured by the Night Shadow Great Emperor, who is actually a Shadow Demon descendant. Ming Yue then forces Yang Kai, through illusion, to kill him in order to pass on the approval of the World's Will to him and prevent it from falling into Demon Realm's hands.

Yang Kai then escapes from the pursuit of Half-Saints and Demon Saints before subsequently becoming demonized and promoting to High Rank Demon King (3rd Order Emperor Realm). Thanks in large part to the Soul Warming Lotus and the latter’s Half-Saint former master, Xuan Bing, Yang Kai subsequently gains the opportunity to enslave the Demon Saint Bei Li Mo. Later, after obtaining Yu Ru Meng's Primordial Yin, Yang Kai greatly strengthens his Divine Soul, allowing him to solidify his control over Bei Li Mo. Yang Kai then proceeds to start devouring numerous continents of Demon Realm into his Sealed World Bead in order to create a new, "perfect" Demon Realm. Eventually, Yang Kai's plan receives the blessings of both Chang Tian and his lover, Yu Ru Meng. Yang Kai absorbs as much as he can before the other Demon Saints discover his actions, and he escapes back to Star Boundary with Yu Ru Meng, Bei Li Mo, Chang Tian, and the real Li Shi Qing.

Demon War

Yang Kai returns to Star Boundary, where High Heaven Palace has covertly been used as a major base of operations by its main forces. After the Great Emperors restore his reputation, Yang Kai rejoins the War effort as a Army Commander. However, the Demon Saints eventually come to Star Boundary and kidnap the Great Emperors into an unknown space. After some battles and adventures, Yang Kai returns to the empty Demon Realm to finish swallowing it up. While on a particular continent of Demon Realm, Yang Kai experiences an ancient battle between the Flowing Time Great Emperor and the Great Demon God of Demon Realm, which resulted in Great Demon God's body being destroyed. Subsequently, in the Sealed World Bead, Yang Kai runs into a clone of Great Demon God in the form of the Blood Demon Mo Sheng. After learning of Mo Sheng's plan to consume Star Boundary in order to heal himself, Yang Kai kills the clone and finishes absorbing the rest of Demon Realm.

On his way back to Star Boundary, Yang Kai ends up in the Outer Universe, where he encounters a massively gigantic being outside of Demon Realm by the name of A Da. The being is upset that Demon Realm disappeared before he could eat it, so Yang Kai feeds him some Dead Stars he refined into World Beads. Satisfied with Yang Kai's concession, Ah Da hands him an extremely powerful Azure Dragon Spear before departing. Yang Kai subsequently returns to Star Boundary, where he finds that Demon Qi is slowly corroding it, slowly turning it into a new Demon Realm. The World's Will of Star Boundary, sensing its own destruction, prepares to open the Profound Heavens Temple in order to decide a new Great Emperor.

Profound Heavens Temple

Li Wu Yi gathers a large group of Pseudo-Great Emperors, including Yang Yan, Cang Mo, Bing Yun, and Sheng Yu Zhu, to be sent to the Profound Heavens Temple in order to attempt to become the newest Great Emperor. Shockingly, Li Wu Yi also chooses to give his spot up to Yang Kai, a mere 3rd Order Emperor, which draws the disdain of Cang Mo and elicits surprise from many others. The Demon Saints not occupied with the Great Emperors also send numerous Half-Saints to compete for the Great Emperor position. When the Profound Heavens Temple finally opens, the two opposing forces enter. After many daunting trials and tests, Yang Kai obtains numerous benefits, including a large amount of priceless World's Source Liquid.

Later, the surviving Pseudo-Great Emperors and Half-Saints arrive at the Illusionary Heavens Furnace that decides who becomes Great Emperor. After a competition, in which Yang Kai kills the detestable Cang Mo in order to save Bing Yun, the Half-Saint Jia Long almost stops him from reaching the Illusionary Heavens Furnace, where one may condense a Dao Seal to become a Great Emperor. Tian Yan, who went undercover as a servant of Night Shadow Great Emperor, ambushes Jia Long to give Yang Kai the opportunity to acquire the Great Emperor-producing Heavenly Source Fruit within the Furnace.

Void Great Emperor

The Half-Saints and Pseudo-Great Emperors return to Star Boundary to find the War in its final stages. Star Boundary has been almost completely corroded, and all of its remaining forces gather in High Heaven Palace as the last standing pure land. As the Demon Race closes in, the Illusionary Heavens Furnace suddenly appears in the sky with the word "Void" etched across it, and Yang Kai eventually emerges as the Void Great Emperor. After calmly reciting his title and Grand Dao to the awestruck forces of both armies, Yang Kai uses a few waves of his palm to slaughter countless millions of Demon Race as if they were mere ants, allowing everyone under Great Emperor to finally experience their true and horrifying power.

Witnessing the rapid and unstoppable annihilation of the Demon Race army, the Night Shadow Great Emperor, real name Can Ye, appears and tries to distract Yang Kai until Star Boundary is corroded. However, the World's Will abandons Can Ye, and Yang Kai uses his own Dao Seal to kill him within an extremely short period of time, further terrifying the present Demon Saints and remaining Demon Race army. Yang Kai then begins rapidly reversing the corrosion of Star Boundary. Suddenly, however, the Demon Qi gathers into the giant face of Mo Sheng, who combats Yang Kai in a battle of wills to corrode Star Boundary. As Yang Kai struggles, Zhang Ruo Xi's voice comes from the Blood Gate in Eastern Territory and says that she will provide aid soon. It turns out that Zhang Ruo Xi's ancestor, Heaven's Order, is the woman who originally injured Mo Sheng in ancient times.

Final Battle of Star Boundary

Eventually, Wu Kuang/Duan Hong Chen appear, having saved the Great Emperors from the Demon Saints that kept them imprisoned in another space. The Great Emperors introduce themselves respectfully to their newest member, Yang Kai, and proceed to gain a momentary advantage over the Demon Race. Mo Sheng realizes his original plan is ruined, and, in desperation, collects all of the Demon Qi in Star Boundary, along with the Demon Saint Huang Wu Ji, in order to form a giant physical body. At the same time, Zhang Ruo Xi emerges from the Blood Gate with Xiao Xiao, now as the Divine Spirit Tai Yue, to aid in the fight. Yang Kai, Wu Kuang, Zhang Ruo Xi, Xiao Xiao, and the other Great Emperor-level forces of Star Boundary fight valiantly to overcome Mo Sheng's Open Heaven Realm power, as Mo Sheng is forced to eventually absorb all the other Demon Saints in order to heal his many sustained injuries. Desperate, Mo Sheng unleashes a devastating attack that threatens to destroy Star Boundary. Yang Kai takes the initiative to sacrifice himself by taking this attack into the Void. The Void Great Emperor's flesh body explodes in the Void and the morale of Star Boundary's remaining forces takes a big hit.

In the Void, Yang Kai's Divine Soul survives in excellent condition due to the Heaven-defying Soul Warming Lotus. Yang Kai, with the help of his medicine garden Wood Spirits, Mulu and Mu Zhu, takes this opportunity to refine the Immortal Tree. Yang Kai flies back to the mass of flesh that was once his body, refines the Immortal Tree, and restores his flesh body to be stronger and more full of vitality than ever. The Void Great Emperor then returns to the battle, greatly invigorating Star Boundary's forces while simultaneously horrifying Mo Sheng. Yang Kai turns the tide, and Mo Sheng is finally suppressed with the awesome power of the Azure Dragon Spear. With Mo Sheng restrained, Wu Kuang takes the opportunity to invade Mo Sheng's Knowledge Sea and destroys his Divine Soul. Yang Kai watches as Wu Kuang gains a new flesh body, and the Battle of Star Boundary comes to an end.

Star Boundary's New Crisis

In the aftermath of the war, Star Boundary is heavily damaged. The Great Emperors, most of which appear to need at least 100 years to recover, realize that the world will eventually die if something is not done. Before they can contemplate further, Wu Kuang suddenly returns to Star Boundary and asks Yang Kai and the Great Emperors to take a look outside of the Universe. To the surprise of Yang Kai, and to the absolute horror of both the Great Emperors and Zhang Ruo Xi, A Da, the Giant Spirit God, is now situated outside of Star Boundary. Zhang Ruo Xi explains that Giant Spirit Gods are one of the most powerful entities of the Outer Universe and, while they are quite docile, they have a need to feed on dead Universe Worlds. Yang Kai wakes Ah Da up and repetitively ask him for a way to save Star Boundary while feeding him dead stars. Ah Da eventually mentions a "World Tree" as a possible method.

Yang Kai and the others return to Star Boundary, where Zhang Ruo Xi, with some knowledge and memories of Heaven's Order, explains to them some mysteries of the Outer Universe, including the details of the Open Heaven Realm. Yang Kai then spends 50 years refining the Immortal Tree as the first Element of his Dao Seal before departing for the Outer Universe, along with Zhang Ruo Xi, in order to find a World Tree.

The Outer Universe

After leaving Star Boundary, Yang Kai decides to first create a new Demon Realm by stripping it’s area from his Sealed World Bead along with Embodiment to serve as its World Master. Later, while Yang Kai and Ruo Xi traverse space, She explains that 108 major influences dominate the 3,000 Worlds of the Outer Universe. These influences are known as the 36 Cave Heavens and 72 Paradises. Ruo Xi's ancestor, Heaven's Order, was a disciple of Langya Paradise. Suddenly, however, Yang Kai and Ruo Xi run into a Void Beast and are separated. Yang Kai then subsequently ends up being forced to serve as a Worker for Seven Wonders Land, a 2nd Class influence with numerous Middle Rank Open Heaven Realm cultivators on a turtle-shaped Spirit Province. However, he eventually escapes after he helps a man named Xu Huang, the deposed former Sect Master of Seven Wonders Land, to go on a suicide mission that greatly damages Seven Wonders Land by killing a large number of disciples, and two of their top Middle Rank Open Heaven Realm Venerables.

The First Inn

Yang Kai and several friends he met in Seven Wonders Land, including the Golden Rooster Divine Spirit, Great General, and the Peak Emperor Realm cultivators: Old Fang, Die You, and Ah Sun, head toward Great Moon Province in order to meet up with a former Elder of Ah Sun's. Before they proceed with this journey, Great General leads Yang Kai to rescue his mother, Mie Meng. Eventually, the group stumbles upon the First Inn, where, for a price, they learn tons of crucial information about the Outer Universe (3,000 Worlds). Running into Great Moon Province outside a dying Sun Star, where several nearby influences have gathered in order to search for Middle Rank and above Fire resources, Yang Kai happens to stumble upon a legendary Golden Crow's Palace.

As the first one in the Palace, Yang Kai stumbles upon the corpse of a High Rank Open Heaven Realm equivalent Golden Crow, but is forced to hide when many Open Heaven Realm cultivators, including the prestigious and powerful Lan You Ruo of the First Inn, also happen upon the Golden Crow corpse. After many trials and tribulations, Yang Kai manages to swipe the Golden Crow Corpse in front of the many Open Heaven Realm cultivators, and uses his skill with Space Principles to miraculously make it back to the First Inn before Lan You Ruo could kill or stop him,

Yang Kai manages to condense the High Rank Golden Crow's True Fire into his Dao Seal before finally handling it over to the First Inn. However, his actions in delaying this process caused Lan You Ruo's First Inn building to be destroyed, leading to Yang Kai being forced to join her as a new valet. Over the next several months, Yang Kai befriends both Bai Qi, another valet, and Lan You Ruo, who somewhat obviously uses his debt to her as a pretext for protecting him while he learns more about the 3,000 Worlds.

Great Ruins Boundary

When Locking Yang Land appears, Bai Qi finally sees the opportunity to promote to the Open Heaven Realm, and Yang Kai goes along with Lan You Ruo to accompany him on the journey. However, this event turns out to be a trap set up by several Open Heaven Realm cultivators, including Qi Jin of Golden Rainbow Province, Ling Chun Qiu of Boundless Altar, and Yue He of Green Mountains Palace, who all have enmity toward Lan You Ruo. As a result of this confrontation, Bai Qi successfully promotes to the Open Heaven Realm due to Yang Kai's World Source Liquid, but Lan You Ruo is forced to lure the enemy away from them. This leads to Yang Kai being captured by Yue He, the former "sister" of Lan You Ruo, who subsequently takes the former to a nearby Star City.

However, the Star City is shortly thereafter covered by a mysterious mist, and Yang Kai and Yue He end up being taken into Great Ruins Boundary. However, Yang Kai is overjoyed to learn that in Great Ruins Boundary, World Force is suppressed, and Open Heaven Realm cultivators can be openly challenged by Emperors. Over the first set of years in Great Ruins Boundary, Yang Kai convinces Yue He to submit to him, acquires a High Rank Earth Element, develops a Divine Ability Manifestation in the Emperor Realm, single-handedly destroys a Thunder Light and Sword Pavilion army, becomes a Foreign Elder of Scarlet Star, and acquires a High Rank Water Element resource alongside Qu Hua Chang and several other Cave Heaven/Paradise Core Disciples.

However, Yang Kai's reign of terror is eventually curtailed when he is made the Bearer of the Heavenly Moon Demon Spider, Zhu Jiu Yin. As a participant in the Seizing Spirits War in the Primordial Land of Great Ruins Boundary, Yang Kai manages to acquire several World Fruits, a World Tree Root Hair to save Star Boundary, and the single Innate Spirit Fruit that allows Zhu Jiu Yin to leave Great Ruins Boundary. Before escaping Great Ruins Boundary with Zhu Jiu Yin, Yang Kai manages to save all the other surviving Bearers with his Sealed World Bead.

Void Land

After escaping from Great Ruins Boundary, Yang Kai and Yue He are chased all the way to Seven Wonders Land by Scarlet Star, a 2nd Class influence who suffered many losses to Yang Kai in Great Ruins Boundary in addition to gaining many benefits. While hiding out in Seven Wonders Land, Yang Kai and Yue He watch Scarlet Star brutally betray Seven Wonders Land alongside the latter's sworn enemy, Flying Smoke Palace, leading to both their destruction and the supplanting of their altar by Scarlet Star. Yang Kai, taking advantage of the Seven Wonders Land Formation Jade left to him by Xu Huang, then uses this opportunity to wipe out Scarlet Star. Only Chen Tian Fei, having bargained for his life with the Loyalty List, is spared as a slave of Yang Kai's.

Seven Wonders Land then becomes Void Land. Yang Kai, as the Void True Lord, also take over the entire Great Territory, in addition to all the 3rd Class Influences and Universe Worlds within it. As his first act as the Void True Lord, Yang Kai solicits Proprietress's help in convincing the talented Immeasurable Grandmaster to build an extremely powerful Nine Heavenly Layers Grand Array for Void Land.

Star Boundary and New Demon Realm

As Yang Kai continues to develop Void Land and Void Territory, he finds the opportunity to travel back to Star Boundary with Lu Xue and Guo Zi Yan in order to plant the World Tree Root Hair to save it. During this trip, he has a dangerous encounter with the 5th Rank Open Heaven Realm Hei He, who ends up being defeated and added to his Loyalty List. Upon arriving at Star Boundary, Yang Kai is welcomed back by the other Great Emperors, who are curious as to what means he has brought to fix Star Boundary. Yang Kai then plants the World Tree Root Hair, which, after consuming an alarming amount of Star Boundary's World Energy, relatively quickly begins to miraculously repair the Heavenly Way of the World.

With Star Boundary saved, Yang Kai gathers 600,000 of Star Boundary's most talented cultivators, including the Great Emperors, Pseudo-Great Emperors, members of Dragon Island/the Ancient Wild Lands, and all Emperor Realm martial artists, in order to bring them back to Void Land to pursue a higher Martial Dao. However, on the way back from Star Boundary, Yang Kai discovers that the new Demon Realm is under assault by a 2nd Class Influence by the name of Black Feather Sect, who is on the run from another influence called Flying Flower Boat. Yang Kai helps Bei Li Mo, Chang Tian, and Embodiment to defeat Black Feather Sect before putting the former two into his Sealed World Bead to travel to Void Land.

Having rescued the Young Lady of Flying Flower Boat from Black Feather Sect, Yang Kai allows them to catch up with his group in order to return her to them. However, Flying Flower Boat's 5th Rank Open Heaven Realm leader, Shangguan Long, betrays Yang Kai's generosity with an attempt to force him into serving under her. However, Yang Kai not only manages to return safely to Void Land, which holds the protection of the 6th Rank Open Heaven Realm Yue He, but he also forces Shangguan Long and Flying Flower Boat to give up their precious Lotus Fall Flying Palace Artifact as compensation for his troubles.

Blood Monster Cave Heaven

Having overseen the completion of the Nine Heavenly Layers Grand Array, Yang Kai eventually sets out to meet with Proprietress again. After attending a Red Clouds Paradise auction in which he receives a High Rank Yang Element resource, and draws the attention of a Xuanyuan Cave Heaven Outer Sect Elder, Yang Kai accompanies the Proprietress to the opening of the legendary Blood Monster Cave Heaven.

In the Blood Monster Cave Heaven, Yang Kai again meets Qu Hua Chang, briefly reunites with Zhang Ruo Xi, combats a reborn former 8th Rank Open Heaven Realm Master in the Black Crow Divine Monarch, destroys the Blood Monster Divine Palace, takes the people of Abundance City into his Sealed World Bead, and acquires a High Rank Metal Element resource. Unfortunately, Yang Kai's acquisition of the High Rank Metal Element alarms several Cave Heaven and Paradises Elders before leaving the Blood Monster Territory.

Suppression

Heavenly Sword Union, backed by two 1st Class Influences, organizes a 100 Force Alliance to lay siege to Void Land, which is due to both their Union Master, Kong Feng's, desire to acquire Yang Kai's High Rank Metal Element and the Cave Heavens and Paradises' desire to suppress his direct promotion to High Rank Open Heaven Realm. When the alliance crumbles under the might of Void Land's profound Nine Heavenly Layers Grand Array and surprising number of Open Heaven Realm cultivators, two Cave Heaven and Paradise 7th Rank Open Heaven Realm Inner Sect Elders make a move to kill Yang Kai. However, they are driven off when Void Land's two Divine Spirits, Zhu Jiu Yin and Bi Xi, force them to retreat.

Promoting to Open Heaven Realm

Since Void Land is hard to take due to the presence of its two Divine Spirits, Ti Zheng of Myriad Demons Heaven instead lures Lan You Ruo into the extremely dangerous Shattered Heaven, where she gets trapped in the Shadowless Cave Heaven while searching for a High Rank Yin Element resource for Yang Kai. After learning about the situation and recognizing it as a trap, Yang Kai immediately heads to Shattered Heaven regardless alongside Zhu Jiu Yin, Yue He, Bai Qi, and Qu Hua Chang. After later confronting several High Rank Open Heaven Realm Elders outside of the Shadowless Cave Heaven, Yang Kai discovers that he cannot enter the Universe Cave Heaven unless he promotes to the Open Heaven Realm.

After exploring all of his options, Yang Kai discovers that he has no choice but to straight promote to the 5th Rank Open Heaven Realm if he has any hope of saving the Proprietress. When Yue He protests his choice, Yang Kai secretly reminds her that he has a Middle Rank World Fruit in his possession. Yang Kai ends up successfully promoting to the 5th Rank Open Heaven Realm, and the Cave Heaven and Paradise forces depart without any further interest in him. Unbeknownst to anyone but Yang Kai, his merging of the Sealed World Bead into his Small Universe during the promotion allows him to achieve the unprecedented feat of having a real Small Universe World at the Middle Rank Open Heaven Realm.

Zuo Quan Hui War

In the Cave Heaven, Yang Kai uses a Middle Rank World Fruit to jump straight to the 6th Rank Open Heaven Realm. Later, after rescuing the Proprietress and others from the Shadowless Cave Heaven, Yang Kai eventually returns to Void Land with several powerful new followers. Eventually, Yang Kai learns of a Dao Theory Assembly being held by Yin-Yang Heaven to determine a husband for the punished Qu Hua Chang. Yang Kai is eventually tricked into competing in this Dao Theory Assembly by Xu Ling Gong, the Honored Master of Qu Hua Chang, and her Senior Siblings, Qing Kui and Su Ying Xue. Fortunately, Yang Kai convincingly wins the Dao Theory Assembly on Crime Star over several elites, but accidentally kills a 6th Rank Open Heaven Realm Thousand Crane Paradise Core Disciple by the name of Zhao Xing in the process. This draws the immeasurable wrath of Zhao Xing's 7th Rank Open Heaven Realm Honored Master, Zuo Quan Hui.

After spending some time in a Small Source World of Yin-Yang Heaven, Yang Kai eventually returns to Void Land, where he soon engages in a protracted war with Zuo Quan Hui. Despite his incredibly domineering 7th Rank Open Heaven Realm strength, Zuo Quan Hui surprisingly suffers both the loss of another disciple and serious injuries at the hands of Yang Kai after he attacks an innocent Universe World within Void Territory. During an extended respite in the war, Yang Kai manages to gain control of Black Territory, which supplements Void Land with resources necessary to allow for the straight promotion of 13 6th Rank Open Heaven Realm cultivators, including all the Great Emperors of Star Boundary.

Yang Kai and Void Land end up taking another victory over Zuo Quan Hui, who recently took control of Heavenly Sword Union. However, through unfortunate events, Zuo Quan Hui discovers the location of Star Boundary and its World Tree Subtree. Yang Kai manages to make it back to Star Boundary with his forces before Zuo Quan Hui, and discovers the World Tree has miraculously improved Star Boundary's Background. Eventually, Yang Kai manages to kill Zuo Quan Hui in a new Great Territory next to Star Boundary.

New Center of the 3,000 Worlds

Taking the opportunity to get out ahead of any problems, Yang Kai intentionally invites the representatives of Cave Heavens and Paradises to Star Boundary in order to share the bounty of the World Tree Subtree. Eventually, Yang Kai comes to an agreement to allow each Cave Heaven and Paradise 5 Star Boundary disciples every 100 years in exchange for a full set of 6th Rank resources, or their equivalent, per disciple. However, Yang Kai manages to retain complete control over the new Great Territory next to the newly named High Heaven Territory.

After making sure that things are stable in High Heaven Territory, Yang Kai travels with Xu Ling Gong in order to repair some Universe Temples for the Cave Heavens and Paradises. This experience acts as an excellent opportunity for Yang Kai to both learn how Universe Temples function and further advance his attainments on the Dao of Space. After successfully accomplishing this task, Yang Kai eventually ends up in Shattered Heaven again.

Void World and Ancestral Land

In Shattered Heaven, Yang Kai trains to become stronger before running into the infamous Blood Crow Divine Monarch, formerly known as Black Crow. After Blood Crow is captured by a Bright King Heaven Inner Sect Elder in large part due to Yang Kai's actions, Yang Kai ends up miraculously acquiring a World Spring in his Small Universe from a fractured Universe Cave Heaven from under the gaze of several contending High Rank Open Heaven Realm cultivators. After numerous events and conflicts, Yang Kai manages to finally ally himself with the 7th Rank Open Heaven Realm Xia Lin Lang. Shortly after this, they both end up chased into the Divine Ability Sea of Shattered Ruins by the 8th Rank Open Heaven Realm Bright Sun Divine Monarch, whom, as one of Shattered Heaven's 3 rulers, greatly covets the World Spring.

After becoming stuck in a strange Space Divine Ability in Shattered Ruins, Yang Kai simultaneously meditates on solving the predicament while entering his own Small Universe, called Void World, to explore its development. During this time, he both names and raises two genius disciples from birth, as they both greatly and respectively match the Space and Spear Dao Marks of his Small Universe. After they grow old enough, Yang Kai reveals to his disciples, Zhao Ye Bai (Dao of Space) and Zhao Ya (Spear Dao), the truth about their home world, and his intention to take them out one day in a better practice environment.

Having finally solved the Space Divine Ability, Yang Kai ends up in Ancestral Land with Xia Lin Lang. Here, he meets Mie Meng and Great General again before befriending the Ancestral Land's Four Phoenix Pavilion leaders in Azure Luan, Yue Zhuo, Yuan Chu, and Hong Hu. During the rest of his time in Ancestral Land, Yang Kai helps unseal the Sealing Demon Land, discovers a "dead" Black-colored Giant Spirit God, retrieves the Dragon Clan's Crystal Palace Sacred Object, and achieves the 1,000 zhang Great Dragon Transformation, which allows him to display power equivalent to the 7th Rank Open Heaven Realm. Yang Kai then departs from Ancestral Land with Xia Lin Lang and Hong Hu, who comes to collect Su Yan and the other Divine Spirit-related members of Void Land in order to bring them back to Ancestral Land for training.

Ink and Langya Paradise

Upon arriving back in Void Land, Yang Kai has Su Yan, Zhu Qing, Shan Qing Luo and all the other Divine Spirit-related members of Void Land accompany Hong Hu back to Ancestral Land. Later, Yang Kai heads back to Star Boundary, drops off his disciples at High Heaven Palace, and visits the incredible Small Stone World of the new Great Territory. Later, Yang Kai is summoned to a isolated meeting with a Langya Paradise Inner Sect Elder, Shi Zheng, whom is accompanied by Zhang Ruo Xi. During this meeting, Shi Zheng tricks Yang Kai into opening a box containing a Ink insect, which, much to Shi Zheng's surprise, is unable to corrode Yang Kai due to his acquisition of the World Spring.

After safely sending Ruo Xi off to Star Boundary, Yang Kai uses his Great Emperor status of Star Boundary along with his newly improved Dragon Bloodline strength to force Shi Zheng to commit suicide. After informing the other Cave Heaven and Paradise Elders of the incident, Yang Kai finally learns the massive secret of the existence of the Ink Clan. Yang Kai then elects to covertly infiltrate Langya Paradise to discover the extent of Ink corrosion there.

In Langya Paradise, Yang Kai indeed discovers some Ink Disciples, or Humans corroded by Ink, and eventually makes his way to the 7th Rank Open Heaven Realm Headmaster of Langya Paradise, Li Yuan Wang, to inform him of the situation. The Headmaster, having his own eccentric methods, simultaneously tests Yang Kai's abilities against the entirety of Langya Paradise's present 6th Rank Open Heaven Realm cultivators, while allowing him to secretly test them for Ink corrosion, and is absolutely shocked when Yang Kai easily defeats and screens them all. Yang Kai, through this process, manages to discover the primary inked members of Langya Paradise, and the other Cave Heaven and Paradise Elders help to both defeat them and examine their own Sects for possible corrosion.

As a reward for his efforts, Li Yuan Wang allows Yang Kai the opportunity to study the Great Desolate Scriptures, which Yang Kai hopes to use to both improve the speed of time in his Small Universe and to learn as the method of creating Small Source Worlds. During this time, Yang Kai raises a 3rd disciple, who is a natural genius in the Dao of Time, by the name of Xu Yi.

Sun's Burning Light and Moon's Serene Glimmer

After returning from Langya Paradise, Yang Kai happens to see another Giant Spirit God traversing the Void. Excited, Yang Kai jumps on his shoulder as he travels several Great Territories until they surprisingly end up in a Chaotic Dead Territory. Here, Yang Kai witnesses the legendary battle of Sun's Burning Light and Moon's Serene Glimmer from the safety of Ah Er's protective shield. Taking advantage of this miraculous opportunity, Yang Kai spends many years collecting several High Rank Yin and Yang Element resources formed from the cast off energies of Sun's Burning Light and Moon's Serene Glimmer. However, Yang Kai is shocked into ceasing this activity when the two Divine Beings appear in front of him in child-like human forms.

Eventually, Yang Kai forms a bond with Sun's Burning Light and Moon's Serene Glimmer as their "little brother," and uses millions of Small Stone Race to help them continue their eternal battle through a new and fresher method. As a thank you for his efforts, Sun's Burning Light and Moon's Serene Glimmer greatly stimulate the growth of Yang Kai's Ancestral Dragon Source by pointing their index fingers at him.

Yin-Yang Heaven

Having missed his hundred year time limit to return to Yin-Yang Heaven for his marriage to Qu Hua Chang, Yang Kai eventually makes his way there. Upon arriving at Yin-Yang Heaven, Yang Kai gets rapped up in a scheme by one of its Inner Sect Elders, Chen Xiu, who tricks Yang Kai into becoming the sole option as a cultivation partner for his disciple, Tao Ling Wan. This was done to prevent Yin-Yang Heaven from looking bad for trying to break from the marriage arrangement, as well as to set up Tao Ling Wan with a suitable and worthy partner.

However, Yang Kai manages to retrieve Qu Hua Chang, who fled to the Sect's mysterious Samsara Pavilion to both delay for Yang Kai's arrival and prevent herself from being married off to someone else, by winning her love through 9 different lives over 130 years. During this process, Yang Kai also manages to inadvertently befriend, retrieve, and rescue a long lost Yin-Yang Heaven straight promote 7th Rank Open Heaven Realm Core Disciple, Luo Ting He, from the Samsara Pavilion. Yang Kai then witnesses as Luo Ting He almost immediately promotes to the 8th Rank Open Heaven Realm upon leaving the Pavilion.

In the aftermath of these events and various negotiations, along with the aid of Luo Ting He, Yang Kai ends up taking both Qu Hua Chang and Tao Ling Wan as wives into his household at the cost of an extremely large dowry of 6th Rank and above Yin-Yang resources. This means that, despite the fact that he is marrying a potential 8th Rank Open Heaven Realm Cave Heaven Core Disciple in Qu Hua Chang, Yang Kai achieves the extraordinary and historically unprecedented feat of maintaining his independence from Yin-Yang Heaven.

Light of Purification

On the way back to High Heaven Palace, Yang Kai gets a strange feeling before suddenly noticing that the names of Xin Peng and Luan Bai Feng have disappeared off of his Loyalty List. After immediately heading to Black Territory, Yang Kai is horrified to learn that they have been corroded into Ink Disciples, and that the strange World Force-consuming energy the Great Territory contains is actually due to the presence of an ancient and imprisoned Ink Clan powerhouse sealed within its depths. While using the protection of the World Spring to pretend to have been inked by Luan Bai Feng, Yang Kai secretly requests for backup from the Cave Heavens and Paradises through a secret message to Qu Hua Chang and the others.

Eventually, Yang Kai’s cover is blown, but his beyond 6th Rank Open Heaven Realm strength successfully buys enough time for several 8th Rank Open Heaven Realm Ancestors of the Cave Heaven Paradises to arrive on the scene, with the first being the Six Wood Divine Monarch of Gold Antelope Paradise. At the urging of Yang Kai, both the Six Wood Divine Monarch and the other 8th Rank Ancestors subsequently allow the nearly 5,000 restrained Ink Disciples of Black Territory to be delivered to Sun's Burning Light and Moon's Serene Glimmer in a novel attempt by Yang Kai to reverse their corrosion by Ink.

After some coaxing by the latter, Sun's Burning Light and Moon's Serene Glimmer proceed to grant Yang Kai Sun and Moon Marks on his left and right hands respectively, allowing him to use their Yang and Yin Attribute Crystals to generate a Light of Purification that significantly counters the strength of Ink. Yang Kai then uses the Light of Purification to purify Luan Bai Feng and the thousands of Ink Disciples who are not already too far gone to be saved. However, Yang Kai is shortly afterward disappointed to hear that Sun’s Burning Light and Moon’s Serene Glimmer are unable to deal with the imprisoned Ink Clansman back in Black Territory due to the fact that their true bodies cause a great amount of destruction wherever they go.

Void Corridor

Now armed with a new strength, Yang Kai returns to Black Territory. Eventually, Yang Kai ends up trapped in the core of Black Territory's Super Array as he uses the Light of Purification to defend himself from the imprisoned Ink Clan powerhouse, which he later learns to actually be a 9th Rank Open Heaven Realm equivalent Ink Clan Royal Lord. While Yang Kai endures, the Ancestors of the 36 Cave Heavens and 72 Paradises spend the next 100 years mining Ore Stars in order to decode Black Territory's extremely dangerous Super Array until they finally happen upon Yang Kai and the Royal Lord. After an extremely fierce and hard fought battle involving over 1,000 High Rank Open Heaven Realm Cave Heaven and Paradise cultivators, the Royal Lord is eventually killed. However, the Royal Lord's death leads to yet another massive revelation within Black Territory, an open Void Corridor leading directly to Ink Battlefield, where the Cave Heavens and Paradises have secretly engaged in war with the Ink Clan for hundreds of thousands of years.

After some deliberation between Yang Kai and the Ancestors of the Cave Heavens and Paradises, it is agreed that Yang Kai is the best candidate to enter and close the Void Corridor from the side of Ink Battlefield due to his unequaled attainments on the Dao of Space. After dealing with several personal matters, including becoming officially married to Xia Ning Chang, Yu Ru Meng, Qu Hua Chang, Tao Ling Wan, Ji Yao, and Xue Yue through alliances with several Cave Heavens and Paradises, Yang Kai frees all the members of his Loyalty List as they and all of his most loyal companions see him off. Having ensured that High Heaven Palace and Void Land are secure, Yang Kai then finally heads into the Void Corridor.

Ink Battlefield

After exiting the Void Corridor, Yang Kai finds himself in a Secret Boundary on Ink Battlefield. Here, he very quickly encounters and purifies a 7th Rank Ink Disciple, named Meng Qi, in order to inquire some information. After doing so, Yang Kai departs the Secret Boundary to search for the Human Race forces as Meng Qi sacrifices himself in a surprising show of loyalty and fearlessness toward their cause.

Once on Ink Battlefield proper, Yang Kai ends up traveling for a short while before pretending to be a lost Ink Disciple for a 6th Rank equivalent Ink Clansman named Angry Flame. Over the next 2 years, Yang Kai fights as a gladiator for Angry Flame until their camp is eventually attacked by some Human Race forces. During this attack, Yang Kai runs into a 7th Rank Open Heaven Realm female soldier of Blue Sky Paradise, Feng Ying, who got trapped behind enemy lines after helping her comrades to escape.

Later, after Yang Kai convinces Feng Ying that he is not an actual Ink Disciple, they roam together throughout the rear of the Ink Clan army in order to purify more Ink Disciples. After successfully purifying more than 100 Human Race cultivators, Yang Kai and Feng Ying make their way to one of the Human Race's more than 100 and absolutely massive main bases, the Blue Sky Mountain Pass.

Blue Sky Pass

Yang Kai quickly becomes extremely valuable to Blue Sky Pass due to his ability to generate the Light of Purification, and likewise spends virtually all of his days using it to help make numerous Spirit Arrays to combat the problem of hidden Ink Disciples. However, after feeling that his martial practice has become stagnant, Yang Kai sneaks onto a nearby battlefield in order to continue his progress on the Martial Dao, and accidently ends up discovering the hiding spot of a Royal Lord. After the Royal Lord is subsequently injured by the 9th Rank Open Heaven Realm Blue Sky Pass Old Ancestor, Yang Kai finally finds the opportunity to promote to the 7th Rank Open Heaven Realm. As a show of faith in his recently witnessed abilities by the 8th Rank Open Heaven Realm officers of Blue Sky Pass, Yang Kai is also made the Team Leader of his own elite unit, Dawn Squad.

Over the course of his subsequent time in Blue Sky Pass, Yang Kai helps to make numerous Universe Arrays (i.e. Space Arrays) and Expelling Ink Battleships, obtains many resources from hidden Secret Boundaries through his skill with Space Principles, and earns Dawn Squad great prestige after achieving victory over an 8th Rank Open Heaven Realm equivalent Territory Lord, Chasing Wind, alongside a newfound comrade from Divine Feather Paradise, Bai Yi. Afterward, Yang Kai provides a further boost to all of the Mountain Passes of Ink Battlefield by providing Blue Sky Pass with the blueprints for his Void Yin-Yang Mirror, dramatically increasing their ability to mine resources from the countless dead Universe Worlds of Ink Battlefield.

Later, while exploring yet another hidden Secret Boundary that belonged to an ancient Alchemist, Yang Kai finds that it contains a World Tree Subtree. After some deliberation between the 8th Rank officers of Blue Sky Pass, it is decided that Yang Kai may attempt to receive the World Tree Subtree into his Small Universe as a reward for the large amount of meritorious service he has earned as a member of the Pass. After successfully refining the Secret Boundary and receiving its Subtree, which, in addition to other benefits, also holds the function of both stabilizing his Small Universe and preventing its corrosion by Ink, Yang Kai gives up his World Spring to one of the 8th Rank Army Commanders of Blue Sky Pass, Ding Yao. In addition, Yang Kai provides the Pill Hall Grandmasters of Blue Sky Pass with a long-lost pill recipe for the Expelling Ink Pill, which has the extraordinary effect of preventing corrosion by Ink.

Yin-Yang Pass

Having brought unparalleled glory to Blue Sky Pass, Yang Kai is later reluctantly handed over to Yin-Yang Pass by the former for the purpose of infiltrating enemy lines in order to kidnap, rescue, or kill an Artifact Refining Grandmaster turned Ink Disciple that the Ink Clan is using to craft increasingly battlefield-capable Palace Artifacts, thus threatening to nullify one of the biggest advantages of the Human Race forces. After taking his first steps in becoming a true Open Heaven Grade Artifact Refiner in preparation for this mission, Yang Kai arrives in Yin-Yang Pass, where he shortly afterward runs into a cute little girl in a strange yet bustling marketplace. Later, after meeting with the Yin-Yang Pass Army Commanders to go over his infiltration plan, Yang Kai proceeds to depart with Xu Ling Gong without the knowledge that the little girl he has been treating as such is actually the 9th Rank Open Heaven Realm Yin-Yang Pass Old Ancestor.

Later, after successfully infiltrating a Royal Lord-lead King City under the guise of having become a Ink Disciple of a previously injured Territory Lord named Black Abyss, Yang Kai spends some time as an Artifact Refining Ink Disciple before eventually discovering his target, Nie An. Later, Yang Kai has no choice but to kill Nie An after finding that he has been too corroded by Ink to be purified. He then proceeds to save some other Artifact Refiners before making a move to escape until he runs into the King City's infuriated Twilight Royal Lord. Yang Kai is then forced to use objects given to him by both the Blue Sky and Yin-Yang Pass Old Ancestors in order to hold off the Royal Lord, and Smiles Old Ancestor quickly comes to his aid. As the two 9th Rank level powerhouses fight, a large battle ensues between their respective forces, and Yang Kai uses this opportunity to destroy and plunder the Ink Nests and resources of several defenseless territories.

After numerous dangerous encounters, Yang Kai manages to track down and pursue Black Abyss until he ends up reunited with Smiles Old Ancestor. Having already seriously injured the Twilight Royal Lord, the also injured Smiles Old Ancestor proceeds to slaughter Black Abyss and several other pursuing Territory Lords before reverting back into her child form and escaping with Yang Kai. Later, after finally returning to Yin-Yang Pass, Yang Kai eventually learns the unique nature of Smiles Old Ancestor’s Samsara Secret Art, and he subsequently spends the next several years helping her to more rapidly heal through her experience of the worldly affairs within Void World. After successfully helping Smiles to stabilize the situation at Yin-Yang Pass, Yang Kai returns to Blue Sky Pass.

Unprecedented Progress

Due to both the World Tree Subtree and the fact that his attainments in the Dao of Time allow for the time of his Small Universe to move much faster than the outside world, Yang Kai's Small Universe becomes an elite Open Heaven Realm-producing cultivation paradise akin to Star Boundary during his return to Blue Sky Pass. In addition, the large development of several Expelling-Ink Battleships, countless Expelling-Ink Pills, many Universe Arrays, and precious Void Yin-Yang Mirrors finally emboldens Blue Sky Pass to embark on their first-ever offensive expedition against the Ink Clan.

During this endeavor, Blue Sky Pass receives reinforcements from the 3,000 Worlds, and Yang Kai learns from the newly arrived Grandmaster Ma Fan that Star Boundary has indeed become an elite Open Heaven Realm Cradle capable of producing numerous straight-promote 6th and 7th Rank talents. However, Grandmaster Ma Fan's arrival also brings another incredible boost to the Human Race's efforts to start mounting an offensive expedition, a mass-producible Light of Purification-bearing Artifact known as the Evil-Breaking Divine Lance.

In the ensuing battles, Xiang Shan, one of the most powerful and famous cultivators on Ink Battlefield, promotes back to the 8th Rank Open Heaven Realm after having previously fallen in rank due to giving up a piece of his Small Universe to avoid corrosion by Ink. With Xiang Shan's promotion successfully used as bait, Yang Kai's Dawn Squad and Blue Sky Pass achieve another major victory over the Ink Clan, allowing them to achieve the unprecedented feat of firmly establishing an Outpost in the Ink Clan's former territory. However, Blue Sky Pass subsequently halts their progress as part of the Human Race's plan to first recapture the long-lost Great Evolution Pass before potentially embarking on their first ever full-scale expedition to eradicate the Ink Clan.

Great Evolution Army

Due to Yin-Yang Pass’s Southern Army Commander Wu Qing’s successful promotion to the 9th Rank Open Heaven Realm, Smiles Old Ancestor is freed to leave the now very stable Yin-Yang Pass in the care of this newest Old Ancestor as she leads the newly formed Great Evolution Army in their mission to both recapture and take over Great Evolution Pass. As Great Evolution Pass is situated between the Wind and Cloud Paradise and Azure Void Cave Heaven Mountain Passes, the newly formed Eastern/Western and Northern/Southern Great Evolution Armies are respectively first gathered on the sides of the latter two Passes. In their first action as part of the Eastern and Western Great Evolution Armies, Yang Kai and Dawn Squad help to completely decimate the Ink Clan forces of the Wind and Cloud War Zone as Smiles helps the Wind and Cloud Pass Old Ancestor to severely injure its Royal Lord.

Later, on the road to Great Evolution Pass, Eastern Army Commander Xiang Shan decides to change the original pincer plan in order to first lure out the Great Evolution War Zone’s Royal Lord from his King City so that the Eastern and Western Armies can decimate the subsequently vulnerable Ink Clan territory within this War Zone. Likewise, Yang Kai is sent off to notify the Northern and Southern Armies of this change along with orders to prevent the sending of any reinforcements from Great Evolution Pass. In an ensuing battle between them and Ink Clan reinforcements from Great Evolution Pass, the Northern and Southern armies manage to both defeat the enemy forces and force them back to Great Evolution Pass thanks in large part to the extraordinary dominance of the only 7th Rank Open Heaven Realm Yang Kai against opponents of the same rank.

With the Northern and Southern Armies now firmly stationed outside of Great Evolution Pass, Yang Kai returns to the Eastern and Western Armies, who boldly set up camp outside the Ink Clan's King City while Smiles Old Ancestor engages in direct combat with the War Zone's somewhat inexperienced Royal Lord. Eventually, a triumphant yet injured Smiles Old Ancestor returns to the newly formed Eastern and Western Armies' outpost as the far more severely injured Royal Lord makes his way back to the King's City for healing within his King's Nest. However, unknown to most, Smiles Old Ancestor is able to use Yang Kai's Small Universe to heal far more rapidly than what would otherwise be possible, and she spends the next several decades of real world time doing so as the Great Evolution armies engage in a stalemate with the Ink Clan on their respective fronts.

Over the next more than 100 years, Smiles Old Ancestor takes advantage of her rapid healing through Yang Kai's Small Universe to repeatedly injure and weaken the Great Evolution War Zone's Royal Lord as the Great Evolution Army collectively wears down the Ink Clan forces near their respective stations. With the King City and it's Royal Lord greatly weakened, the Northern and Southern Great Evolution Armies finally march on Great Evolution Pass before, through some negotiations, coming to an agreement to allow its occupying Ink Clan forces to peacefully retreat back toward their King City in exchange for leaving behind all of their commodities and 7th Rank Ink Disciples. In this way, Great Evolution Pass is finally recaptured by the Human Race.

Dragon Altar

Eventually, Yang Kai is sent to No-Return Pass after Smiles Old Ancestor reaches an agreement with the Dragon Clan to allow him access to the Dragon Pool. However, when Yang Kai arrives, the Dragon Clan is far less than welcoming to him due to his Human Race Bloodlines. After defeating an angered Peak Great Dragon, Ji Lao San, in front of the Dragon Elders, Yang Kai is approached by Huang Si Niang of the Phoenix Clan, who allows him to stay in their Nirvana Chinese Parasol Tree. In the Parasol Tree, Yang Kai eventually comes across the Ice Phoenix Empress's Phoenix Nest. After drawing on the power of the Nest to increase his attainments on the Dao of Space, Yang Kai inadvertently draws the attention of the 9th Rank Open Heaven Realm equivalent Fire Phoenix Empress, who teaches him more about the mysteries of Divine Spirits.

When the Dragon Pool opens, Yang Kai enters despite the unwillingness of the other participants. While in the Pool, Yang Kai finds that the two marks given to him by Sun's Burning Light and Moon's Serene Glimmer, in addition to the strength they stimulated within his Source, allow him to achieve extraordinary growth. Over the course of his time in the Dragon Pool, Yang Kai sheds his Human Race Bloodlines completely to become a pure Golden Ancient Dragon. However, as Yang Kai goes far beyond the depths of what a normal Dragon Clansman can in addition to drawing an abnormally large amount of the Dragon Pool's strength, he manages to draw the attention of the extremely powerful Ancient Dragon, Fu Guang. Yang Kai then ends up using the Sun and Moon Marks to both achieve a 7,000 zhang body and bring Fu Guang to the verge of achieving Divine Dragon.

After leaving the Dragon Pool, Yang Kai gives a scale of Fu Guang to the Ancient Dragon Elders, and their hostility toward him completely disappears as he is accepted as a pure-blooded Dragon Clansmen. The Dragon Clan Elders offer Yang Kai a chance to leave his name in the Dragon Book in order to both become an official member of Dragon Clan and open up the possibility of being resurrected from death, but Yang Kai declines after learning it will prevent him from leaving No-Return Pass.

Queen's Nest

After achieving Ancient Dragon, Yang Kai's battle prowess rises tremendously, and he becomes absolutely invincible within the 7th Rank Open Heaven Realm, in addition to gaining the ability to truly contend with a Territory Lord. Upon returning to Great Evolution Pass, Yang Kai uses his skill with Space Principles to retrieve its source, allowing Smiles and the dozens of 8th Ranks in the Pass to mobilize it for war. With the integrity of their defense line now complete, the entirety of the Human Race Mountain Passes decide to finally make their first full-scale expedition to eradicate the Ink Clan. In the ensuing assault on the Great Evolution War Zone's King City, Yang Kai manages to destroy the Royal Lord's King's Nest, kill an innate Territory Lord, and kill a new promote 9th Rank Open Heaven Realm Ink Disciple despite still being an only 7th Rank Open Heaven Realm cultivator, further adding to the legend of his achievements.

After the other Mountain Passes also achieve victory over the King City's of their respective War Zones, a select few Human Race Old Ancestors then use their Divine Souls to examine the remnants of the King's Nests, where they are subsequently ambushed by a large group of Royal Lords. However, when things seem dire, a mysterious party uses strength beyond the 9th Rank Open Heaven Realm to allow the Old Ancestors to escape. From this experience, the Old Ancestors discover that there is a 'Queen's Nest' for the Ink Clan. Yang Kai and the Human Race Mountain Passes, having just achieved the greatest victory in history against the Ink Clan, continue their first ever expedition toward the Source Area of Ink Battlefield.

Heavenly Beginning Great Restriction

After arriving in the Source Area, Yang Kai watches as the Old Ancestors meet with an old man in a giant restriction. The old man, named Cang (Dark Green), explains that he is one of the 10 Great Antiquity Experts of the Human Race, and that he is managing the Heavenly Beginning Great Restriction that has been keeping the true body of Ink imprisoned for over 1,000,000 years. As Cang explains both the history of the 3 Eras of the Outer Universe and the origins of the Human Race war against the Ink Clan, Ink itself protests his explanations of the latter subject as mere lies. With Yang Kai present, the more than 1,000,000 year old Cang presents the Old Ancestors with an all-or-nothing decision on whether they want to face Ink in a final war or make peace with it, to which the Old Ancestors unanimously decide the former.

Upon the opening of the restriction to the allow the Human Race army to kill off Ink's forces, an absolutely massive battle ensues. As Yang Kai and the Human Race forces attack from the Mountain Passes, Ink eventually releases over 2,000 innate Territory Lords from the restriction, and they eventually break through the Human Race artillery. After this, Ink releases many innate Royal Lords. During this time, Yang Kai gets stared down by a fierce innate Territory Lord, but manages to flee into the restriction under the protection of Cang. Here, Cang informs Yang Kai of both the origins of Heaven Devouring Battle Law and his good friend, Shi (Devourer). Cang also lets Yang Kai know that he is the new self-help chosen by the Universe, and it is for this reason that he received a World Tree Subtree in his Small Universe.

When Yang Kai leaves out the restriction again, a horrifying event happens, and Ink releases half of a Ink Giant Spirit God from within the restriction before Cang is able to close it. Seeing that the battle has become hopeless, Cang sacrifices himself by using a Jade left to him in the Antiquity by the strongest of the 10 Great Experts, Mu (Herd), who was mysteriously killed during a meeting with Ink. Around the same time, Dark Green shoots a beam of light into Yang Kai before dying. An apparition of Mu appears from the Jade, and uses a powerful Divine Soul Technique to put Ink into a deep sleep. The aftershocks of this incredibly powerful Divine Soul Technique stagger every single powerhouse in the Source Area outside of Yang Kai, whom has the protection of the Soul Warming Lotus.

River of Time

Unfortunately, receiving the light from Cang turns Yang Kai into a massive target for a Royal Lord, and he gets chased away from the Source Area Battlefield. This chase continues for many years, and Yang Kai has no choice but to enter multiple dangerous and extremely powerful Celestial Phenomenons in order to avoid death at the hands of the powerful Royal Lord. In the first Celestial Phenomenon, the Royal Lord gets severely injured due to his inability to decode the means to avoid its effects. Eventually, Yang Kai manages to enter a particularly unique Celestial Phenomenon, where he discovers it contains the legendary River of Time. In the River of Time, Yang Kai absorbs countless Rivers consisting of the myriad Grand Daos, and promotes to the 8th Rank Open Heaven Realm in 2,000 years of altered time. Yang Kai then spends an additional 2,000 years of altered time in the Celestial River to consolidate his boundary, absorb more Grand Dao, and use up the rest of his cultivation materials.

After leaving the River of Time, Yang Kai encounters and slays the injured Royal Lord, who further greatly weakened himself by using a Secret Technique in an attempt to instantly corrode Yang Kai into a Ink Disciple. After returning the Source Area, Yang Kai finds that Ink is still asleep and the Restriction intact. Eventually, Yang Kai finds many broken Mountain Passes, and learns from some Human Race survivors that only about 500 years had passed since he left the Heavenly Beginning Great Restriction War.

Return to the 3,000 Worlds

Yang Kai leads the survivors, using the help of an Old Ancestor's before death Divine Ability, to break through the Ink army in No-Return Pass, and returns to the 3,000 Worlds. Here, Yang Kai briefly ends up in Spatial Territory, where he witnesses a desperate battle between the 3,000 Worlds’ forces and the Ink Clan. Before he gets the chance to meet back up with friends and family, Yang Kai goes back to close up the Void Tunnel connecting Ink Battlefield to the Spatial Territory. After doing so, Yang Kai rescues Ji Lao San, now an Ancient Dragon, from the hands of the Ink Clan and proceeds to return to the 3,000 Worlds through the Void Tunnel he used to originally enter Ink Battlefield.

This time, Yang Kai returns to Void Land, and drops off over 5,000 elite disciples from his Small Universe so that they can promote to Open Heaven Realm. After departing, Yang Kai makes his way to Shattered Heaven, at it is the 3,000 Worlds’ connection point to the Spatial Territory. In Shattered Heaven, Yang Kai inadvertently uncovers a plot by the Ink Clan to revive the dead Ink Giant Spirit God in Ancestral Land. Though he manages to sorrowfully kill one of the 8th Rank Open Heaven Realm Ink Disciples, Yang Kai is unable to stop the revival of the Ink Giant Spirit God, who he learns actually carries the Soul Wisp of Ink itself. When Yang Kai tries to banish the Ink Clone to the Void, he is surprised to learn that Ink is extremely comfortable in the chaotic Nihility from which it was born. Yang Kai is eventually rescued by Smiles Old Ancestor, who helps him to escape from Ancestral Land.

Unable to stop the Ink Giant Spirit God from destroying the World Barrier of Spatial Territory, Yang Kai heads to the Wind Mist Territory to try and cut off the opening another Black Giant Spirit God created. During this time, the hopeful Old Ancestors, Dragon Emperor, and Fire Phoenix Empress sacrifice their lives, sparring only Fu Guang, Smiles, and Wu Qing Old Ancestors, so that the 3,000 World's forces can retreat back to Star Boundary. There, they may one day grow strong enough to take their worlds back from the invading Ink Clan. As this occurs, Yang Kai is chased to the Chaotic Dead Territory by one of the last two living innate Royal Lords of the Ink Clan.

Old Tree

In the Chaotic Dead Territory, the innate Royal Lord is quickly and easily slaughtered by Sun's Burning Light and Moon's Serene Glimmer, and Yang Kai discusses with them the mystery of the Primordial Light. The siblings then inform Yang Kai that they have tried to fuse in the past to no avail. The Yellow and Blue Siblings proceed to also inform him of the oddity of their sudden birth, the fact that they cannot control their strength, and that they are not actually the Ancestors of Divine Spirits. Sun's Burning Light and Moon's Serene Glimmer then provide Yang Kai with a great amount of their Source Strength so that he can provide Sun and Moon Marks to 10 other Divine Spirits. They also provide Yang Kai with countless millions of up to 8th Rank Open Heaven Realm equivalent mutated Small Stone Race.

After this encounter, Yang Kai rescues a Great Territory from the assault of the Ink Clan, and then mysteriously starts refining a Universe World into a World Bead. After doing so, Yang Kai eventually makes contact with and teleports to the World Tree in Great Ruins Boundary, as he has learned it is the source of all Universe Worlds in the Outer Universe. The World Tree, after taking the form of a humanoid old man, then helps Yang Kai to travel to numerous Great Territories in order to save more Universe Worlds. As Yang Kai completes this process, he fatefully reunites with Wu Kuang, now a 7th Rank Open Heaven Realm Peak cultivator. After refining 2,000 Universe Worlds and receiving 3 Subtrees from the World Tree, Yang Kai proceeds back to Ink Battlefield from Black Territory.

On Ink Battlefield, Yang Kai heads to the Source Area with Wu Kuang. Upon arriving, Yang Kai releases the light Cang sent into him back into Wu Kuang, who is actually a reincarnated Soul Fragment of Shi (Devourer). With the memories of Devourer, Wu Kuang agrees to take responsibility for operating the Heavenly Beginning Great Restriction, but warns Yang Kai that he needs 3,000 years to breakthrough to 9th Rank with Heaven Devouring Battle Law and a World Tree Subtree. Before departing, Yang Kai receives from Wu Kuang both a Secret Art that can potentially help him to break free of the shackles of Open Heaven Realm promotion and information on the realm beyond 9th Rank, Creation Realm, the supposed realm of Ink's true body. After leaving Wu Kuang in the Restriction, Yang Kai stops by No-Return Pass to destroy 5 King's Nests and significantly injures the last remaining innate Royal Lord before again returning to the 3,000 Worlds.

3,000 Worlds War

After again returning to the 3,000 Worlds, Yang Kai ends up in Mysterious Nether Territory, where, after slaying several innate Territory Lords single-handily in order to rescue its Human Race forces from imminent defeat, he finally reunites with most of his wives. Shortly after this, Yang Kai is made the Army Commander of the Mysterious Nether Army by the Human Race’s newly formed Head Office Division due to his impressive display of strength. In his first major move as Army Commander, Yang Kai leads a group of elites consisting of both his wives and former members of his Ink Battlefield team, Dawn Squad, to the nearby Yearning Territory in order to rescue some stranded Human Race cultivators.

In Yearning Territory, Yang Kai strikes even more fear into the Ink Clan by slaughtering several more innate Territory Lords by himself, something that would otherwise be thought to be impossible for even a Peak 8th Rank Open Heaven Realm cultivator. What’s more, Yang Kai also manages to rescue the stranded Human Race forces in this Territory by using both his massive Small Universe and the World Tree to transport everyone to Great Ruins Boundary before finally returning to Star Boundary.

After briefly visiting Star Boundary, Yang Kai sets off for the New Great Territory to plant a new World Tree Subtree on a Monster Race-dominated Universe World called Myriad Monster World. After doing so, he travels back to Mysterious Nether Territory, where he proceeds to kill dozens of innate Territory Lords over the course of several decades to put great fear into the hearts of all the Ink Clan’s forces. Due completely to Yang Kai’s fearsome reputation, the Ink Clan leadership of Mysterious Nether Territory then eventually agree to a treaty with Yang Kai for both sides to keep their 8th Ranks out of the war, allowing for the younger generations to train within the territory.

Treaty

With Mysterious Nether Territory stable, Yang Kai returns to Star Boundary to finally start practicing the Three Parts Normalizing Art given to him by Wu Kuang before the latter entered the Heavenly Beginning Great Restriction. In doing so, he splits off a large portion of his Divine Soul before placing it within a stillborn infant within Void World. This clone, Fang Tian Ci, then cultivates vigorously within Void World as Yang Kai recovers over the next 300 years within Star Boundary. After witnessing Fang Tian Ci’s straight promotion to the 7th Rank Open Heaven Realm before he is mysteriously brought back down to 6th Rank, Yang Kai leaves him with the last of his World Tree Subtrees before returning to the Head Office Division to check on the condition of the war.

After again demonstrating his horrifying strength to the Ink Clan, Yang Kai eventually joins the other lead 8th Ranks of the Human Race as they negotiate a similar peace treaty as the one in Mysterious Nether Territory for the majority of the 13 Great Territory Battlefields. As a result of this negotiation, lead on the Ink side by the talented innate Territory Lord, Mo Na Ye, both sides agree to hold back their 8th Rank Open Heaven Realm or equivalent powerhouses in 7 of the 13 remaining Great Territory Battlefields as long as Yang Kai stays out of the war, giving both the Human Race and the Ink Clan time to train their next generations.

As he is no longer able to participate in the war, Yang Kai then spends the next 1,700 years both cultivating within the World Tree Subtree on Star Boundary and developing the final clone of the Three Parts Normalizing Secret Art on Myriad Monster World. During this time, the clone, a Monster Beast named Shadow Leopard, takes only 500 years to become the Thunder Shadow Great Emperor of Myriad Monster World. With himself having essentially cultivated to his limit at the Peak 8th Rank Open Heaven Realm over the course of this time, Yang Kai then heads off to search for clues on the Primordial Light of the Outer Universe.

Bending the Rules

Yang Kai explores the various Great Territories in his search for the Primordial Light. After a brief reunion with his 3 legacy disciples, Yang Kai travels to again meet with Sun's Burning Light and Moon's Serene Glimmer, who inform him that, though they may be related to the Primordial Light, they are missing something whenever they try to fuse back together, and a better answer could probably be found within the Divine Spirit Ancestral Land. Upon traveling to the Ancestral Land, Yang Kai finds that it has been overtaken by the Ink Clan. After forming a connection with the Ancestral Land's Will, Yang Kai proceeds to use the World's Strength to drive the Ink Clan away. Yang Kai then falls into a deep sleep as the Ancestral Land exhausts its strength to bring his Dragon cultivation to the absolute peak of the Ancient Dragon Realm.

Due to the Dragon Clan’s natural talent in the Dao of Time, Yang Kai views the history of the birth of the Ancestral Land during this time, and learns that it was actually formerly just a normal land mass on which the Primordial Light, after having already split off Sun's Burning Light and Moon's Serene Glimmer, crashed onto before splitting further into the various original Divine Spirit Clans. In this vision, Yang Kai also sees a mysterious human-like figure coming from the center of the crash site of the Primordial Light. Upon finally awakening, Yang Kai finds himself caught in an ambush by the Ink Clan that ultimately violates their treaty. Yang Kai then fights a hard-fought battle to defeat the Pseudo-Royal Lord, Di Wu, the first of a new type of Ink Clan threat.

Angered by the Ink Clan's bending of the rules, Yang Kai travels to No-Return Pass, where Mo Na Ye, now also a Pseudo-Royal Lord, appeases the former with the compensation of 1,000 Ink Disciples and a large amount of resources. Yang kai then eventually returns to the Human Race headquarters in the 3,000 Worlds, where he proceeds to pick up a new weapon and army, known as the Withdrawing Ink Platform and Army respectively, whose mission is to aid Wu Kuang in keeping the Heavenly Beginning Great Restriction on Ink Battlefield intact. During his time leading this group toward the restriction, Yang Kai discovers through various means that Zhang Ruo Xi's Heaven's Order Bloodline is actually descended from the mysterious human-like figure that walked from the crash site of the Primordial Light, and that it is actually the most superior Primordial Light-related bloodline in existence.

After settling down the Withdrawing Ink Army outside of the Heavenly Beginning Great Restriction, Yang Kai brings Ruo Xi to the Chaotic Dead Territory to meet with Sun's Burning Light and Moon's Serene Glimmer. After both of the supreme beings form a child-to-parent-like bond with Zhang Ruo Xi, Yang Kai leaves her there to cultivate with the latter two per their request with the anticipation that Ruo Xi, who is not affected by the 2-rank Open Heaven Realm limit due to her bloodline, will soon reach the 9th Rank Open Heaven Realm. Later, after years of jostling with Mo Na Ye and the Ink Clan over resources on Ink Battlefield, Yang Kai discovers that the Heavenly Beginning Great Restriction has actually leaked nearly 1,000 innate Territory Lords over the last several decades before Wu Kuang is able to seal it up.

Universe Furnace

Having subsequently slaughtered hundreds of these weakened and recovering Territory Lords, who each paid a significant price to escape from the restriction, Yang Kai ends up in a life-or-death battle against another large group of escaped innate Territory Lords lead by Mo Na Ye. However, before this battle can be concluded, the Universe Furnace suddenly presents itself through the appearance of several illusory projections within both the 3,000 Worlds and Ink Battlefield. Having been caught up in one of these projections during his battle with Mo Na Ye and the others, Yang Kai takes advantage of his mastery of the Dao of Space to enter the Universe Furnace's inner world ahead of everyone else. As both select Human Race and Ink Clan forces subsequently prepare to enter the Universe Furnace the usual way, a forcefully locked-in-place Yang Kai begins to learn some of the mysteries of the still unopened furnace, including the fact that there are only 9 Supreme Grade Open Heaven Pills that can help a martial artist break through the 2-rank limit of Open Heaven Realm promotion.

As the furnace opens, Yang Kai begins to track down the Supreme Grade Open Heaven Pills using Solar and Moon Marks he previously placed within them during their formation while the furnace was closed. During this time, Yang Kai also discovers both the existence of the Universe Furnace’s Endless River and its native Chaos Spirit Race. After subsequently making contact with some Human Race forces, Yang Kai joins up with his now Peak 8th Rank Monster Emperor special clone, Shadow Leopard, in successfully acquiring a Supreme Grade Open Heaven Pill. However, Yang Kai shortly thereafter learns that his practice of the Three Selves Source Reconstitution Art makes this pill useless for breaking his own 8th Rank limit. Later, after using a battle formation to drive off another Pseudo-Royal Lord with the assistance of Shadow Leopard, the veteran 8th Rank Open Heaven Realm Ouyang Lie, and 3 other Human Race 8th Ranks, Yang Kai decides to give his longtime comrade Ouyang Lie the Supreme Grade Open Heaven Pill so that the latter can promote to the 9th Rank Open Heaven Realm.

While protecting Ouyang Lie’s subsequent promotion, Yang Kai has an epiphany toward the usage of his Grand Daos, leading to him physically manifesting his Space and Time Grand Daos to eventually form a Space-Time River. Based on the Universe Furnace’s own Endless River, the Space-Time River greatly boosts Yang Kai’s already impressive strength, allowing him to steamroll through the majority of Ink Clan forces he subsequently encounters. Eventually, however, Yang Kai stumbles upon a conflict between a newly born Ink Clan Royal Lord and a 9th Rank-equivalent Chaos Spirit King over yet another Supreme Grade Open Heaven Pill. Though he manages to acquire this pill, an injured Yang Kai ends up being relentlessly pursued by both the Ink Clan and the Chaos Spirit King, forcing him to use many trump cards until he escapes into the Endless River of the Universe Furnace, where his Soul Warming Lotus, World Tree Subtree, and Space-Time River allow him to survive. After subsequently learning that the Endless River consists of all of the myriad Grand Daos stemming from Chaos, Yang Kai proceeds to absorb the myriad Grand Daos of the River until his attainments in them reach at least the 5th-7th Layer.

Mysteries of the Furnace

Upon subsequently learning even more mysteries about the Endless River, Yang Kai gains further insight and inspiration toward a path to the Creation Realm, but he determines again that he must reach the 9th Rank Open Heaven Realm before he can advance further. After leaving the Endless River, Yang Kai finds Yang Xiao and the now 9th Rank Open Heaven Realm Yang Xue, along with Ouyang Lie, Fang Tian Ci, and several other Human Race forces, as they try to protect Xiang Shan’s promotion to 9th Rank from a siege lead by the newly promoted Royal Lord Mo Na Ye in addition to a Chaos Spirit King. With his Space-Time River now also consisting of the 3,000 Grand Daos, Yang Kai proceeds to kill a Pseudo-Royal Lord and over a dozen Territory Lords before joining Yang Xiao, Fang Tian Ci, Shadow Leopard, Blood Crow, and several other 8th Ranks in forming an extremely powerful Eight Trigrams Formation in order to fend off the tyrannical strength of Mo Na Ye. Unfortunately, however, the formation is disrupted and Yang Kai is injured when the betrayal of 3 recently promoted 8th Rank Ink Disciples planted within the Human Race forces successfully forces Xiang Shan to give up his promotion.

With the Human Race forces now struggling, Yang Kai has no choice but to attempt to breakthrough to the 9th Rank Open Heaven Realm in the middle of the battle. After absorbing Fang Tian Ci and Shadow Leopard into his Small Universe as part of the Three Selves Source Reconstitution Art, Yang Kai first breaks through to the Divine Dragon Realm as he is besieged by 3 Pseudo-Royal Lords. Needing one final push, Yang Kai then elicits the worship of the inhabitants of Void World to finally breakthrough to the 9th Rank Open Heaven Realm. After instantly killing a Pseudo-Royal Lord before stabilizing his foundation, Yang Kai proceeds to immediately turn the tide of the battle, eventually forcing an injured Mo Na Ye to flee. Having won the battle, Yang Kai adjusts to the fact that 3 souls now occupy his body as Xiang Shan successfully promotes to 9th Rank, gaining the Human Race 4 new such masters since the opening of the Universe Furnace. Later, as the Universe Furnace closes and the Human Race and Ink Clan forces return to their respective stations, Yang Kai decides to stay behind in the Universe Furnace as he looks to use his newly gained 9th Rank Open Heaven Realm strength to follow the Endless River to the end of its path.

After traveling down a branch of the Endless River for some time, Yang Kai eventually finds himself having been ejected outside of the Universe Furnace alongside several immature and lifeless Universe Worlds and Celestial Phenomena. From this experience, Yang Kai deduces that the Universe Furnace, which lies within the void of boundless Chaos, and its Endless River are actually responsible for the creation of the 3,000 Worlds and Ink Battlefield. Now needing to make his way back to the 3,000 Worlds from Chaos, Yang Kai, who is accompanied and assisted by the souls of Shadow Leopard and Fang Tian Ci, embarks on this journey for more than 100 years as the newly bolstered Human Race forces in the 3,000 Worlds manage to recapture some Great Territories from the Ink Clan in his absence. During this time, Shadow Leopard proposes that the 3,000 Worlds is likely just one of many such worlds that the Universe Furnace has created, and that these worlds are simply separated by vast expanses of the Chaos, causing them to be unaware of one another. Though at first skeptical, a pensive Yang Kai then very quickly finds this theory to be quite plausible.

3,000 Worlds Recaptured

As a result of a hidden card left behind by Yang Kai sometime prior to his entry to the Universe Furnace, in which a Universe World Bead containing the sleeping Giant Spirit God Ah Da was secretly handed to Smiles Old Ancestor, Smiles and Wu Qing manage to successfully free themselves from their millenniums long predicament of tying down the Ancestral Land-borne Ink Giant Spirit God. With the two freed Old Ancestors added to their ranks, along with two Giant Spirit Gods to match the number of their active Ink Clan counterparts, the Human Race forces’ momentum increases further as they recapture even more Great Territories. After more than 600 years of traveling through Chaos, Yang Kai then finally manages to return to the 3,000 Worlds’ Great Ruins Boundary through the use of two World Tree Subtrees, one of which is planted by the former within an immature Universe World in Chaos, and their connection to the true World Tree.
