Find a Park
Wylie is home to more than 700 acres of parkland and open space. In those parks, you’ll find 19 miles of trails, 23 playgrounds, 12 pavilions, soccer fields, baseball fields, football fields, a nine-hole disc golf course, a cricket pitch, and much more. Over the next few years, the Parks and Recreation Department plans to continue the implementation of the 2012 Trails Master Plan, which will increase the miles of trail in Wylie to better connect you with your community.

Find a Pavilion
Neighborhood pavilions are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Paid reservations, can be made and are recommended, for the Community Park pavilion and Olde City Park pavilion or gazebo.

Find an Athletic Complex

Specific athletic fields are available to reserve for a fee on a limited basis, for various athletic practices such as baseball, softball, football, soccer, and lacrosse. Neighborhood park backstops and soccer fields are available only on a first-come, first-served basis. Founders Park sand volleyball courts and the basketball court are also available seven days a week, 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, only on a first-come, first-served basis.

Leagues
The City of Wylie is proud to partner with several local youth sports leagues to make team sports available for the children of Wylie. Football, soccer, softball, and baseball leagues play during the spring, summer, fall, and winter.  Soccer, football, and softball games are played at Founders Park, and baseball games are played at Community Park.

Master Plans
The 2019 Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan was adopted by the City Council in 2020. It serves as a guide for appropriate park uses and for the location of parks within the city, and amenities within parks. The plan serves as a long-range vision (10-20 year timeframe) for future development, programming, and recreation opportunities. Issues typically addressed in parks master plans include planned park elements, natural and cultural resource management, and general design concerns. The plan is conceptual in nature and not intended to address detailed issues related to engineered site design or park operations. The plan is just one of many steps in the process that leads to the development of public parks.

Non-Profit Park Event Application
Non-Profits may apply for ordinance variance to fundraise in the park. All applications must be approved by staff, Parks and Recreation Board, and City Council prior to the event. With at least ninety (90) days notice and availability, applications accepted on a first-come, first-served basis up to six (6) months in advance of the event. Please call the Parks and Recreation Administration Office at 972-516-6340 / prompt 1 if you have any questions.

Arbor Day
