He married Winnifred "Wyn" Josephine Fletcher on 7 June 1942, in Moose Jaw, Moose Jaw No. 161, Saskatchewan, Canada. They were the parents of at least 3 daughters. He immigrated to Raymond, Sheridan, Montana, United States in 1947 and lived in Saskatchewan, Canada in 1916 and Swift Current No. 137, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1926. He died on 13 January 1974, in Transvaal, South Africa, at the age of 71, and was buried in Gauteng, South Africa.
