Windows 11 Mail - Microsoft Community

Windows 11 Mail

I just upgraded to Windows 11 desktop and am using the windows mail feature to aggregate my email accounts from Yahoo and also Gmail.

I have about 4 email accounts that are aggregated and managed using my windows mail. The problem that I encountered is that when an email received has an attachment the attachment is not visible. No link for attachment. No paperclip. No icon. No nothing. So I am not able to click on anything to open the attachment.

If I go directly to the same email using my web browser and log into the email account like Yahoo mail or Gmail the attachment is clearly visible and able to click and open.

How do I get my windows aggregated mail to show and make attachments accessible?

In my opinion, the built-in Windows mail program is just about the worst such program available. There are many other better choices, some by Microsoft, some by third parties, some for sale, some free.

I recommend that you dump the built-in program, try several others, and choose the one you like best.

I'm bound to agree with Ken because Mail in Windows 11 is an unmitigated disaster, seemingly designed by the unskilled and constructed by the incapable.

There's no immediately obvious way of setting it up to use default fonts and default font sizes, and even simple stuff like choice of font and size isn't working in the version of Mail that I have. (And when I say 'isn't working', I mean it: a brand new installation of Windows 11 on a new Dell Inspiron desktop PC ithast is now: just 3 days old though unfortunately it arrived with with -- hobbled by, more like -- Windows 11.

I can't figure out why when I send an emailit appears as a draft in my email record, even after it's gone. And as for the deliberate, systematic over-complicatioin of the simplest things, it's all typical Microsoft programmer ego-tripping in the cause of self-congratulation rather than leaving good stuf well alone.

As to the shambles that is Mail in Windows 11: insert a picture into the body of the email you'd like to send?

In former times, positioning of that was quick and easy, as it should be: align left, align right or centre. Choose which. Takes a coupla seconds. Now, if you want that image centred, you have to work out the millimeter measurements for positioning to the left or the right -- sheer idiocy, and a wilful time-waster by those who designed this and implemented it..

Microsoft's devs may hold their intended audience in the highest contempt (I'm sure they do, otherwise this constant rewriting of strtaightforward good stuff into unusuable junk would never happen) but that';s no excuse for the supervisory failures of project management: whichever management team was over-seeing Windows 11 Windows Mail development should be sacked.

The drivel foisted onto us paying customers is wholly unacceptable. I'm off now to try Claws Mail, seeing as how my own claws are feeling pretty sharp right now.
