Windows Live Mail: mail backup
In order to secure E-Mails from any folder, follow these steps:
- Open Windows Live Mail and click in the menu bar, click file.
- Select "email export" and then "E-mail".
- In the new window, select "Microsoft Windows Live Mail" and then click on "Next".
- Now select the directory in which you want your E-Mails secure. The folder must be empty.
- Now select the folder you want to export, or select "All folders". Confirm with "Next".
- Wait until the process is complete. You can close the window by clicking on "Finish".

Windows Live Mail to restore E-Mails
The restore previously backed up E-Mails works in a similar way:
- Open Windows Live Mail and click in the menu bar, click "file".
- Select "messages import".
- Select the Format of the "Windows Live Mail" and click "Next".
- Select the directory in which the backed-up E-Mails are located. Then click on "Next".
- Select which message folders you want to restore, or select "All folders". Confirm with "Next".
- Wait until the process is complete. You can close the window by clicking on "Finish".

Alternatively, you can save your Mails from Windows Live Mail also with external Software. The Software MailStore Home is extremely popular, and also free of charge.
- Start MailStore Home and click on the left to the point of "archiving E-Mails".
- Here you can select from the list of programs select "Windows Live Mail".
- You can now choose which content you want to save and where the backup is created.
- Just follow the steps, your backup is successful.
