Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, broke her months-long silence today to reveal that she has been diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment. Her announcement came after weeks of conspiracy theories regarding her whereabouts. However, the obsession with the royal family, and Middleton in particular, hardly began with her “planned abdominal surgery” back in January. In fact, the public has been so invested in her love story with Prince William that it landed its own Lifetime movie, William & Kate.

The television film was released on April 18, 2011 — less than two weeks before Middleton and William were married at Westminster Abbey. It follows their nine-year courtship — which all began after they met as students attending the University of St. Andrews — and the struggles that followed when media scrutiny put pressure on their relationship. However, as happened in real life, the story ends with their fairytale wedding.

The film ended up getting panned by critics, though actor Nico Evers-Swindell, who played William, told The Hollywood Reporter, “I don’t know [what] anyone could have expected in 30 days of development, from a network that’s known for romance … It was always intended to be a fun ride, a light romance, a love story at the heart, and just a jolly good time.”

So, who stars in William & Kate? Where can you watch it nowadays? Here’s everything we know:

Netflix‘s Golden Globe-winning drama series The Crown may have everyone talking when it comes to onscreen adaptations of the royal family, but Lifetime did it first. If you’re looking for a toned-down, made-for-TV version of William and Middleton’s highly publicized romance, then the only way to watch William & Kate is to purchase the film on Amazon Prime Video.
