Powerful earthquake rocks Tokyo and other central Japan cities, no tsunami warning

Tokyo: A powerful earthquake of 6.1 magnitude rocked central Japan on Monday rocking several cities, including Japan. However, no tsunami warning was issued by authorities.
While confirming the earthquake, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) issued a notification reading, "An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 on the Richter Scale hit 84 km South Southeast of Toba, Japan today at 13:38:26 UTC."
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the epicentre of the quake was off central Mie prefecture with a depth of about 350 kilometres (217 miles).
People took to their social media accounts and shared videos of things shaking during the tremors.
There were no reports of damage or injuries and no abnormalities were detected at the Fukushima nuclear plants, according to public broadcaster NHK.
The Fukushima and Ibaraki prefectures, north of Tokyo, experienced stronger shaking on Japan's seismic scale, despite the regions being hundreds of kilometres from the epicentre.

Yesterday, a 5.0-magnitude earthquake jolted waters off the Taitung County, Taiwan, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The quake struck at a depth of 10 km at 9:47 am. The epicentre was monitored at 22.44 degrees north latitude and 121.10 degrees east longitude.
