Extended edition for home media

The BBFC just updated its listing for the film and listed the home media release with a runtime of 174 minutes. I wonder this is worthy of including in the article. - Richiekim (talk) 16:33, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

The BBFC can be confusing to read sometimes. Looking carefully at the BBFC page for The Eternals and expanding the various sections we can learn more. The section of the page "Cinema" says the runtime was "156m 0s". The section of the page "Home media" also says the runtime is "156m 0s". The section Bonus "Material" says "174m 0s" but that does not suggest to me that there will be an extended cut of the main feature released to Disney plus, it seems more likely that there will also be "making of" and various other featurettes with a combined total runtime of 174 minutes. We will see for sure when the Bluray is released in March. Compare and contrast to the [BBFC page for Black Widow] where it lists 34 minutes of bonus material, or look at the BBFC page for Shang Chi where it has a theatrical runtime of 132m and Bonus material runtime of 163m minutes. -- 109.76.210.115 (talk) 06:14, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

The sections about Pharos and Makkari in the plot needs to be expanded.

The plot currently reads as:

Hoping to delay the Emergence, the group reunites with the other Eternals. At Druig's residence in the Amazon rainforest, they are attacked by the Deviants and kill all of them except Kro, who kills Gilgamesh before fleeing. Phastos proposes the Uni-Mind, a connection between all the Eternals that would give Druig enough power to put Tiamut to sleep with his mind-control powers. However, Ikaris reveals that Ajak told him of the Emergence

It immediately jumps from the encounter with Druig in the Amazon and the death of Gilgamesh to Phastos coming up with the Unimind. It glosses over the other Eternals visiting Phastos at his home in Chicago, the introduction of his family (husband and son), or his unwillingness to help at first until he is convinced by his husband Ben.

This also skips over the introduction of Makkari and while her reintroduction is much shorter than the others it seems weird to not even mention it.

Then why are similar details included for other characters? Pharos is literally not even introduced in the plot summary.

You could easily also remove the lines "After Sersi's partner Ikaris left her centuries earlier, she is now in a relationship with human Dane Whitman who works at the Natural History Museum."

and

"Dane professes his love for Sersi and is about to reveal a secret about his family history when she, "

Both details have significantly less impact on the plot than Pharos. Krysox (talk) 07:52, 30 March 2022 (UTC)

Assuming you're referring to Phastos, it doesn't matter that he has impact on the plot, those details don't. That second quote you present is not very relevant to the plot, but we know it'll be relevant for the future of the MCU. If you can find a way to include it in 15 words or less, try it. But you'll probably won't be able to clarify he has a husband and a son, just saying "family". The language section needs to be expanded.

The only language that is currently mentioned is English.

First name or last name?
