Does the metadata on the photo show if it was a self timer?

Out of curiosity, has it actually been the full year yet, or do you have an anniversary coming up? It's possible she wanted to send you some nudes as part of a present?

People saying that self-timer nudes aren't a thing are full of shit, of the nudes I've gotten around half have been on timer for the angles.

If you have a concern it's over the fact that she had it ready to go, apparently on her clipboard; but don't jump to the conclusion that she's cheating. Talk to her, make sure you're not calling her unattractive but ask her why she had that picture locked and loaded when you've never done that before.

But don't just toss a relationship cause of people on Reddit.

I have a DSLR. I once took nudes, they looked semi pro, but I assure you they were just a book, proper aperture settings, and a timer. So. Ask her.

I used to take pictures of myself nude on timer in order to check out what I looked like naked more objectively than in the mirror. I would be so embarrassed if I accidentally sent one to someone, even a bf. I remember once my ex saw a pic I'd taken and questioned me, thinking I must have sent it to some other guy. But no, I was just checking out my own boobs. Could be that your gf was doing something similar.

If she's like any other girl I've met, she takes nudes- lots of them- without the intention of sending them to you. Timers are a pretty regular thing, too.

My wife sends me nudes whenever I ask for them. She sets the timer on her phone and takes selfies all the time. Your gf having nudes saved does not equal cheating. Talk to her about it. Tell her how you feel. r/relationships is chock full of insecure, and untrusting people that think everything means cheating. Could she be cheating on you? Sure. But the pics don't mean that she is. Don't accuse her of cheating. Tell her that you did not expect her to send you a nude photo, and it caught you off guard. It wouldnt hurt to let her know that you find her attractive in light of the pic. "That picture was hot, but I didn't expect it." If you don't trust her responses to your feelings about it, then you simply don't trust your gf, hence your relationship is already dead.

She is either cheating on you or she is telling the truth. There are plenty of people that come to this sub worried that their SOs were cheating and reddit jumps on the circle jerk basically convinced that they're cheating - and then OP comes back with an update saying that they were wrong.

I don't see what the big deal is. Maybe she took some nudes of herself one day when she felt particularly good about herself. Maybe he sent it ON PURPOSE and then said "whoops it was an accident" when she really intended to excite and flirt with you. There is the possibility that she's cheating. But is this the only reason you have to mistrust her? If so, give her the benefit of the doubt. This isn't the best place to hang your hat. And if you don't believe, talk to her.

You can look at the metadata in the image file to determine when the picture was taken as well as the camera.

It suspicious but not clear that she's cheating.

I do want to point out that she may not necessarily have had it saved to her clipboard. Maybe she just forgot which random string of numbers was the name of the gif she wanted and confused it with the nude pic.

The weird angle can be explained by a timer and sticking the phone somewhere, even if a selfie stick isn't visible or used. I don't think it automatically means she's cheating.

I quite often take pictures that I'd love to send to my partner but talk myself out of, and the angles can be weird because I either tape my phone somewhere and use a timer, or I put it on a selfie stick (which I bought specifically so that I could take pictures easier - even if that's just taping the selfie stick somewhere and using the timer). Taking the pictures boosts my confidence in my body, even though I never really send them. I keep telling myself that I will, but I somehow never do. I still take them as if they're for my partner. Maybe it's like that for your girlfriend?

Talk to her, but don't accuse her of cheating. It's entirely possible that she takes pictures like that intending to send them to you but doesn't have the confidence to actually send them, in which case to her they are something she intends to show you.

when I was a teenager and took a lot of pictures of myself I used the self timer all the time to avoid the selfie look. Its totally a thing.

As for the copy/past, its possible she just copied it to move it to a folder.

You could try reverse image searching on google to see if she is like posting it on porn websites (or r/gonewild) or something. But beyond that, all you can do is talk to her.

Just because you have never exchanged nude pictures before, doesn't negate that she took a nude picture for you. If you have been long-distance for the past 2 months, it makes even more sense that she would want to surprise you to keep the flame going, remind you of what you have, general sexy stuff.

You can set a timer on your phone's camera but the angle to get the right picture does require a bit of work to get right. This means, it can come off as someone else having taken it but in reality could simply be a propping issue. I've taken a few of my own pictures with the timer and I had to prop my phone up against a tank, leaned back against my computer tower while sitting on top of several books, etc. Basically, it's not impossible.

I'm also going to assume you were chatting on your computers when it came to using FB. This is important. If she took that picture for you to give as a surprise later, did you perhaps entertain the idea that she hooked her phone up to her computer to retrieve the picture via copying and pasting? Its very easy to then try and copy another picture and not click as firmly or confirm the action like you thought you had and not realize it until you try to place it elsewhere.

Do try and be more open-minded about this and not jump to conclusions. Keep in mind that the distance can also create insecurities and can make people more suspicious than they need to be. If there's never been any indication of cheating prior to this or after this, then take her at her word. There's really no other evidence given to prove she's cheating and I truly do not think she is.

Communication will help you avoid this sort of thing again in the future and it will help to build trust instead of questioning it.

It's possible (and probable) that she took the photo with a self timer because it doesn't make sense that someone else would take a picture of her with her own phone if they were right there with her. Why not just use their own?

That doesn't explain how it ended up on her clipboard though. I'm almost 100% sure she sent it someone else and forgot about it, things don't just accidentally copy themselves.

If she's cheating other things won't quite make sense, there will be a lack of warmth between you two, there will be little understandings that don't happen, and little Misunderstandings will get blown out of proportion. Listen and observe and your gut will solve its for you. It's usually pretty good at this shit.

The evidence here isn't very damning yet-although it is suspicous. Just let her know that you are actually insecure about the whole situation and talk it out-if she's cheating, honestly you could probably tell from the answers she gives you. A lot of people on here are going to tell you you're jumping the gun but a LOT of people cheat in thier relationships, it's just 'normal' now. Better safe than a fool. If you're upfront about it too, it'll be a lot easier on everyone anyway.

She likely copied and pasted it to somebody else and then forgot that was the last thing she did, and then she sent it to you thinking it was the dog gif. She done goofed. She's bullshitting. Tell her you're not buying her excuse for a second and get her to own up.

Yup, just ask her about it. It could have been a test of the waters. There are many things the phone can be propped up on or stuck to that can give that look. Don't go crazy, just talk to her.

I have never sent my bf a nude pic but if we were long distance I probably would as a surprise. I am the type of woman who would take a bunch of pics on my phone with a timer until I found the perfect one because if I'm going to send a nakie pic it's gonna be a good one. It's perfectly plausible that she did that on accident. It's also possible it's an old pic from a previous relationship that she has saved on her phone. I wouldn't jump to cheating unless she has given you other signs that she is up to no good.

When I was on vacation for 3 weeks, I would randomly send my boyfriend sexy pictures. He didn't specifically ask for them, and I didn't drop a hint that I was going to send them to him. I sent them randomly to get him really excited and take him by surprise, he really enjoyed it :) your girlfriend could be doing the same thing! You never know.

From the way you've described it something definitely seems off. I'd definitely investigate in some way if you can.

As a girl and long distance relationship I have done both of these things sending wrong picture by accident and also setting timers for nude pictures for my fiance. Forgetting is that on Facebook you don't necessarily have to copy paste a picture you can click Open browse through your pictures and manually select it now if your setting happens to be on list only there's a huge chance you could just slip on shoes the wrong image. Definitely have a talk with her so you can put your mind at ease but do not started as a confrontation since this could be an innocent mistake

Angle is a big thing, also if it were already copied, that's a flag as well. Other people in here mention timers and such, but it's difficult to tilt a cell phone at an angle and keep it there. If she were to do a timer, the picture would be level or something close. I'll bet money that she's cheating on you, that someone did in fact take that picture. Would definitely be speaking to her about it though, dude...I don't think it's enough to jump to cheating per say but it definitely isn't something you should just let go without a discussion [especially considering you say you've never really asked/traded nudes before].

Honestly, cheating could be 50/50 for me. I actually have a couple of really good gal pals, and we have taken a couple "photo shoots" for each other to send to our SO's. She may have decided since y'all are LD right now she would spice it up with a picture, and had a friend take it for her, since honestly, those tend to turn out better. Also, if a guy took that photo, I would think it would be on HIS phone, not hers.

On the other hand, if she said it was a timer (I actually didn't know iPhones could do this) and it wasn't, that is a definite lie. Why would she lie?

I'd always say trust until shit hits the fan, but it is kind of shady, specially since you guys are in a LDR. You should just straight up tell her your concerns and go from there. Her story is not crazy and actually pretty credible, but you apparently have a point that is somewhat valid.

I don't know anything about this, but practicing taking nudes of yourself is a real thing. A lot of us have nudes we only thought about sending. Having it on the clipboard isn't a horrid thing. I've also personally taken steamy photos of friends so they could have something sexy for their boyfriend. It's possible she is cheating, but this alone doesn't prove much.

Tardy to the party but I knew a girl that took lots of nudes and would judge herself. Could be a reason also.

Maybe she wanted to try something different and then back peddled in embarrassment when you weren't into it.

IMO if you're even slightly suspicious (which you have a right to be in this case) then GTFO. The fact is you don't believe her. I don't believe her either dude. The accidental sending of the picture makes it more likely that it wasn't meant for you. However, it's also entirely possible she's not cheating on you.

I'd be open with her and tell her exactly how you're feeling: that though you trust her, the way this happened has made you worry and that you are doing your best to manage it and are sorry, but that you can't help it. Tell her if she wanted to see other people that you would rather know about it than be blind-sided (and again I'd apologize and say that it's not that you don't trust her, just that the incident worried you). If you love her, tell her that too.

The goal is to do a few things at once: communicate to her that you're worried, so that if she wants to she can do something about it; increase her guilt burden if she's cheating on you, so that she's more likely to come clean; and open lines of communication in general. See what she says.

Just visit her and check if that angle is possible to recreate without holding the phone. It would sctually be pretty conclusive from exacly where the photo was shot.
