Ordered a gaming computer using Amazons payment plans.
Computer arrived with a damaged part. I processed a replacement on 1/18/2020, dropped off my item at KHOLS on 1/21/2020, was then told a replacement could not be sent until the original purchase had been received due to the high value.
I call back a number of times following up, and am told a it can take up to two weeks for the replacement to be processed. I wait and call back and am told that it was received on 1/31/2020, and it can take up to two weeks from when it was received before a refund can be processed.
I WANTED A REPLACEMENT NOT A REFUND. I have called and spoken to representatives on more than two occasions and not until this moment AFTER the item was received, they now tell me they can't process a replacement. This is unreasonable, but alas it does not seem like there is anything anyone at Amazon can do to rectify this issue in any timely fashion - I'm just expected to continue waiting.
I ask why they can't just sent out a replacement and they tell me the time for the replacement to be processed was when the original item was in the process of being returned to them, they say now that it has been received on their end, the only thing they can do is provide a refund, which will take up to 2 weeks from the date they received it.
OK, I'll wait for a refund I guess. I'm told it will be processed in the next couple days, this would have put that date at around 02/03/2020, OK I'll wait. I then follow up around that date, and am told that it's been scheduled to process on the 14th. OK, I wait until the 14th, no refund posting to my account, I wait until today, the 15th of February, still has not shown up on my account.
I call again, I am told that the item was inspected on the 13th of February, 14 days after it had been received, and that the refund is processing and will take 3-5 days more. Bear in mind that the next scheduled payment for this item is now the day after I am writing this, the 16th. I no longer have the item, I have not been refunded and there is still a scheduled payment.. Fantastic.
I ask the representative on the phone if I will still be charged for the next payment installation even though I no longer have the item, he says that he does not see any payment installations for the item on his end, I pull it up on my end and read all the info to him.... He pauses for a moment and says he needs to put me on hold.
I hold for 5 minutes, he comes back, and tells me he is still looking into the issues. He comes back again 5 minutes later and tells me he sees the payment installation that is scheduled but typically that would not be there once an item is received, but for some reason it is still showing, and he can't do anything to remove it.
I am told that I will need to goto my bank and have them sort it out if this additional charge posts to my account.
So I have been waiting 26 days since I dropped of my damaged order at KOHLS, I have not yet been refunded and I may be out another $230, in addition to the initial $318 that I still have not been refunded.
I am seriously considering cancelling my Amazon Prime account, and I'm not very confident in ordering anything of high value from Amazon again.
It was poorly inspected before it got to me, KOHLS is painfully slow getting returns out of their store, and once received Amazon is painfully slow checking items to provide refunds. it took them 14 days (what they specify as the max amount of time) to inspect my item. They took the absolute maximum amount of time to process it.
This type of behavior could be considered fraud on some level I think. Always being told to wait X amount of time, always being told something else when I call. Just hurry up and wait. Ridiculous.
