The old city center is the right place to start to discover Frankfurt history. Altekirche Nikolai and National Museum of History are representative for the beginning of the city.

It's this sleek, modern skyscraper that totally owns the city skyline. The views from the observation deck are mind-blowing, giving you this epic panorama of Frankfurt. You can see all the cool architecture mixing old and new. Inside, it's all classy with glass and steel vibes. And guess what? There's a restaurant too, so you can munch on some amazing food while soaking in the scenery. Plus, being in the financial district adds this extra swag to the place, making it a symbol of Frankfurt's economic awesomeness. Whether you're a tourist hungry for views or a local wanting a unique dining spot, Main Tower is where it's at, capturing the vibe of Frankfurt perfectly.

This Roman Catholic Gothic church was built in the heart of the old city. The cathedral is very well-conserved and shows many ancient masterpieces. His location is fairly easy to find because its impressive 95-meter tower and spire dominate the city skyline. In its internal, there is a magnificent pipe organ and a composition of the Jesus Christ crucifixion. It surely deserves a visit, especially during the summer, its freshness will surprise you.

I enjoyed walking this historic bridge across the river in central Frankfurt. I had good views of the city and the boats cruising the river. There are walking paths on both sides of the river and I enjoyed strolling along the river to another bridge to cross back.

I was only in Frankfurt to catch a plane, but looked for something to do the day before. This turned out to be an interesting visit. Admittedly, I am not well-versed about Goethe, but know the basics. Honestly, if this had been Hans the baker's preserved house it would have been just as cool to visit. The architecture was comely, the furnishings were alternately elegant and over the top. There is a lovely garden with an immense fig tree. The still-green figs were as big as my fist! I'd have loved to have gotten a ripe one.

Upstairs is a whole art museum. I didn't even see the entire thing. The staircase to access it reminded me of a Fritz Lang movie. If you go, you'll see what I mean.

It was certainly worth the visit.

Construction in and around the station makes it a bit more difficult to use than is normally the case, but the directions within the station are clear and the platforms readily accessible. There are lots of cafes, restaurants and other amenities.

The old town area of Frankfurt was more interesting part of the city although the 17th century half wooden houses were built to the original design in 1988. Still an interesting place for tourists and better than the more modern areas.

Came here for an NFL game and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The S-bahn or tram are perfect for coming to the park, either one is quick and efficient from Frankfurt center or Hbf. Security and ticket check were quick and easy as well. The exterior area of the park had beer stands, concessions, games, and entertainment as well. Inside the stadium, there wasn't a bad seat in the house with excellent views of the field from everywhere. There's a glass/fiberglass roof cover, but the sides at the top are open to the elements, so you'll always get the local temperature but without the rain or snow. Great place to see a game or concert of any kind.

We had a very nice lunch at the Hauptwache restaurant during the Christmas market. This place is so iconic they could scrimp on the food, but they don’t. The schnitzel, soup and sausages were great, and the service was attentive. Unfortunately, the interior of this building lacks the character of the exterior. In the summer it would be better to sit outside.

This is a long stretch of street where there is only 1 thing to do, that’s EAT. There are many restaurants and ice-cream shops. You can eat til your heart content.

Many of the houses look like something out of a Grimm fairytale or children's movie. Worth visiting for the fachwerk alone.

This church was built on the site of the old Staufen chapel in 1290, For a long time it was in the shadow of the cathedral as a daughter church of the monastery of St. Bartholomew, but gradually its importance for Frankfurters grew in parallel with the growing importance of Roemerberg in relation to the Cathedral Square. The construction of new altars and the reconstruction of the church was already at the expense of the citizens of the city and the city council. All this stopped with the Reformation, in which Frankfurt sided with the Protestants. In 1530, Catholic Mass and church services in Frankfurt were abolished. The Church of St. St. Nicholas was closed, the altars were demolished in 1543. After the Peace of Augsburg in 1548, the cathedral was returned to Catholics, and the Nikolaikirche remained closed for services and was used as an archive, warehouse and God knows what else... After more than a century and a half, the Nikolaikirche was re-consecrated in 1721 after restoration as an evangelical one. Actually, this can be seen from the modest interior. The church looks about the same as in the XVI century. Surprisingly, the terrible British bombing of 1943-44, which turned almost the whole of Frankfurt into ruins in general and the Old City in particular, did not affect the church much. Only the roof burned down, which is not much in terms of the scale of destruction of other buildings. So the church is the little that remains of the real old Roemerberg.

What an amazing experience! The Turm (Tower) is in the midst of a natural reserve on the edge of the city centre. From the top of the tower you get breathtaking views of the city skyline. There's even a terrific coffee shop at the bottom of the tower so that you can recharge your batteries with a fresh coffee & some delicious cake (or maybe a beer or two)!
