Default TV Stars Who Were Falsely Reported Dead

They include Bob Denver before Gilligan's Island existed (cause of death: shipwrecked on a remote island ) and Peter Boyle before Everybody Loves Raymond existed.

Beverly Archer, back in 2012. Apparently that was even big on this site at the time.

In 1996 there was a media hoax that Adam Rich had been murdered. The story was published in a magazine with Adam's consent.

I remember an interview with Anson Williams where he said that he once was listening to the radio while he was driving when he heard a report that he had died. He said that he thought about pulling over because he thought that if he had died that he probably shouldn't be driving.

I remember that Adam Rich hoax. I think Jay North once mentioned something similar about himself in an interview.

We mistakenly reported it on our blog after it was posted in a thread on here. It was a cruel hoax that was posted on IMDb and Wikipedia.

We removed it as soon as she contacted us, but apparently the post went viral as the kids say.

She was very nice about it. She liked the the good things we said about her. I think her alumni association reported on it. I read that she mentioned it in an interview on some DVD set.

We tried to make the best of it. She did a Seven Questions interview and a video message for us.

Thankfully we never made a mistake like that again. It was a lesson learned. We have to wait until a major news source confirms a death.

These celebrity death hoaxes happen quite a bit. There's an entire Wikipedia page devoted to premature obituaries.

Abe Vagoda, look it up。 Some news agencies followed this as truth unluess it was a hoax.

Abe didnt die, he just left, off a stage. Death came aferwards and old Abe went "Lets go!, where are we going?" Angel " to the best Jewish deli of Manhattan and they deliver everyday."

Now we can add "Leave it to Beaver's" Tony Dow to this list.

I remember the Paul McCartney being dead hoax around the time of the Abbey Road album coming out ! I was a little girl and thank God nobody really believed it ! I guess it meant the beginning of the Beatles breaking up as a group soon or something !

And a few years ago Barry Van Dyke ( Dick's son / star of Diagnosis murder )was reported as having passed away , total hoax !! But thank God , like Paul it wasn't true !

What are the chances that both child stars of a TV show would both be falsely reported as dead?

Jerry Mathers years ago, now Tony Dow.

Wasn't Mitchell Ryan of Dharma & Greg reported to have died several months before he actually died in March 2022?
