Family-Placed Death Notice

UNDERWOOD, William William Donald "Don" Underwood, age 82 of Alpharetta died peacefully on Sunday, July 1, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Underwood was the founder of Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell and has helped many families during his long career. Don also served as past President of the Georgia Cemetery Association. He is a longtime member of Roswell United Methodist Church and was a Veteran of the United States Army. Survivors include his loving wife; Ann Underwood, two sons; William D. Underwood & wife Diane, Bruce Underwood, one stepdaughter: Judy H. Hawkins & husband Rev. Harry Hawkins, Three granddaughters; Lisa Cascioli & husband Mark, Cathy Flanders & husband Darrell, Laura Underwood, three step grandchildren; Frances Springer, Alicia Rogers and Adam & wife Martha Hawkins. Funeral Services for Mr. Underwood will be conducted on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 2:00 O'clock in the main sanctuary of Roswell United Methodist Church 814 Mimosa Blvd. Roswell, GA 30075. He will lie in state at the church from 1: 00 until service time. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 in the welcome center. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of custom memorials the family requests donations be made to, Roswell United Methodist Church or North Fulton Charities. Roswell Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
