ADAIR SR., Forrest
Forrest Adair Sr., Pioneer Atlantan Dies At His Home
ATLANTA. April 28�Forrest Adair. Sr.. son of one of the founders of Atlanta and a prominent real estate operator, died at his home here today at the age of 71.
A native Atlantan. Adair was prominently associated with civic affairs and was one of the originators of the Scottish Rite hospital movement for crippled children.
Surviving Adair are his wife, two sons and a daughter.

BAGWELL, Eula
With Premonition of Death � Girl Names Pallbearers
With a premonition that her death was near, Miss Eula Bagwell, of 29 Lucy St., made all funeral arrangements and named the hour at which her death would occur.
Miss Bagwell was fifteen years of age and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Bagwell. Realizing that she was succumbing to a wasting illness of several weeks, she named Floyd Barron, Pleanty Wiley, John Thomas, Dave Kidere, Robert Pinlore and Hubert Robins as her pallbearers and selected Greenberg, Bond & Bloomfield as her undertakers. After conversing with her family late Sunday night in regard to her burial and the details of her funeral, she became too weak to talk. She motioned to a clock on the mantel and when it was brought to her she turned the hands to 3 o�clock, and at exactly 3:05 o�clock Monday morning she died.

BARRETT, Mrs. C.A.

Mrs. C. A. Barrett Dead
Mrs. C. A. Barrett, aged 54, wife of C. A. Barrett, member of the board of water commissioners, died Tuesday morning at 10:30o�clock at St. Joseph infirmary, after a serious illness. She had for many years held a leading position in this city both in social and private life. She was at all times kind-hearted and cheerful, and formed a source of comfort for those of her friends who were in trouble.

 

Mrs. Barrett is survived by her husband and two children, R. Y. Barrett and Mrs. W. J. Pitchford. The friends of C. A. Barrett, R. Y. Barrett, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Pitchford, and Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Young are invited to attend the funeral services, which will be held at the residence, 333 Pulliam-st., at 3 o�clock Wednesday afternoon. Interment will be at Oakland. Mrs. Pauline Barth died last night at ten minutes to 12 o'clock, at her residence, "Tivoli," near Ormewood Park She is survived by her four sons Rev Carl F. Barth. Paul T., B. H. and A. L. Barth. Bearden, F. M.
Macon Telegraph [Macon, Georgia] Mar 12, 1902
Atlanta, Mar 11-The veterans at the Soldiers Home are again called upon to mourn the death of one of their comrades. This time it is F. M. Bearden, who died last night at 114 Marietta street, where the veterans are quartered, until the home has been rebuilt. The deceased was 75 years of age, and served with the Sixteenth Georgia regiment. He was a member of Company B of that command. He has a brother, J. W. Bearden, living. The body was this afternoon shipped to Madison for burial.
 

 

BELL, Getha Gina

GETHA GINA BELL, born September 23, 1913 in Corpus Christi died February 6, 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia, her home since 1954.
Gina Bell was the daughter of Emma Ann and Everett Robert Bell and the granddaughter of Walton Clark, one of the very early settlers of the Corpus Christi Bay area, establishing the first school, church, and cemetery in 1890. Prior to moving to Atlanta, Gina Bell was a writer for the Corpus Christi Caller-Times and newspapers in Houston and San Francisco, California. On moving to Atlanta, she pursued a lifelong interest in genealogy, she published a book in 1977, "The Bells in U.S.A. and Allied Families 1650-1977." In 1979, she was invited to personally present her book, "The Bells in U.S.A." to the National Library in Edinburgh, Scotland. She was instrumental in achieving official recognition of the Bell Clan. Gina Bell was a member of the D.A.R., a charter member of the Southwest Texas Genealogical Society, and an appointed Honorary Member of the Research Board of Advisors of the American Biographical Institute.
Getha Gina Bell went to Scotland and England in 1979 with Grace Rose. While there, they researched their Bell and Rose family lineage.
She is survived by her son, James Paul Harris, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia; a brother, Everett Robert Bell, Jr.; a nephew, Robert James Bell; her nieces, Connie Lee Bell Haney, Kathryn Bell Bohannon, and Bunny Bell Williams.

BORRETTE, Amelia Adalyn
Word was received here last week that Amelia Adalyn Borrette of Albany, Ga., passed away at the age of 72.  The youngest daughter of the late John and Nettie Borrette, she lived in Susanville the better part of her young life, attending the local grammar and high school.  She had lived for many years in Albany, Ga., with her sister, Mrs. Cornith Seely, who preceded her in death about two years ago. She is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Annette Smith of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Lyn Gillespie and a nephew, Brandon Seely, both of Albany, Ga. BROWN, Oliver
Death of an Old Man- "Uncle" Oliver Brown, so well known in Atlanta and in Athens, who was once a slave of Judge Dougherty, of Athens, was buried from Friendship Baptist Church yesterday evening. Quite a large attendance was out to pay the last tribute to the old man. Uncle Oliver was about sixty five or seventy years old. He leaves a mother living that is about ninety years old.
