An ORATION upon the BEAUTIES of LIBERTY;

Or, The Essential RIGHTS of the AMERICANS

A call to ‘Stand alarm’d, O ye Americans!‘ Is a sermon that can be seen directly applicable to our 21st century political leaders and situation with one caveat – In 1772, America, the Citizenry and a good portion of the political class, heard and maybe even understood the truth within the First Great Awakening.

The principles in the sermon should have been preached from 1772 each and every year to this very day. The BEAUTIES of LIBERTY are not imaginary but established in the reality of who King Jesus is not king James or a governor, president, congress, judges or bureaucrats.

This sermon is directed to the political elite, the political class, the king, Parliament and yes, the Citizenry. I believe that every politician and bureaucrat needs to hear this sermon since they are culpable in the charges laid forth in this sermon. BTW, the fundamental complaint and charges are timeless when evil reigns. Continue reading

6-27-20 Interview with Leonard Gilbert

Interview With Leonard  Lacing Wisdom

It is an honor to interview my fantastic friend Leonard Gilbert. Leonard is a leader that has the insights to issues of the day because he has studied not only the past but also the depths of the Scriptures. He brings the life lived application of God’s word to the discussion of family, governance, politics and church.

During this conversation with Leonard, we will focus on God and Government. We will cover the concepts that are not taught in schools today thereby causing the unrest we see amongst people as well as the rise of Marxist revolution across the nation.

Questions For The Present

Some of what Leonard and I intend to cover are:

  • What is foundational in America from the time of the Puritans?

  • Does the Bible address the relationship between God and governance?

  • Education.

  • Activism.

  • The church walking away from its responsibilities to humanity.

  • What must we do?

On that note I want to remind all those that are leaders in your community and especially those who are in their church to read ‘The Chaplains and Clergy of the American Revolution.’ Continue reading

10-5-19 Prophecy Fulfilled

Prophecy Fulfilled  Prophecy Fulfilled

In this age of seemingly national and global upheaval, many trawl the events to shout of Prophecy Fulfilled. In this program I will discuss what could be perceived in the messages of Biblical Proportion.

Prophecy is in fact fulfilled in these United States but not in the way that many, especially a number of Christian thinkers may be looking for. Continue reading

4-20-19 Christian Resistance and Disobedience Today

Introduction: Christian Resistance

Most important this week is the remembrance that mankind is sinful and that God had always planned for salvation to those He calls. This weekend is that calendared time to remember what the Godhead did for us in the death and Resurrection of Jesus.

With that, I don’t expect many or any to take the time to listen to the program. Therefore I am providing a program that I did in August of 2015. The reality is that good governance begins with good governors: individually, at home, in the work place, in bureaucracies, and in elected offices. The problem over the last 150 years is that Christians, especially evangelicals have dismissed the extensibility of the Gospel and left action required to influence all the a fore mentioned aspects of human life.

To that end, we have the right to resist despots and tyrants being the overlords of a nation as these United States.

The Original Program titled “Christian Resistance and Disobedience Today” is at this link location

Christian Resistance:

There are a lot of speakers and authors out there that talk about this. This program is a rerun for 2015 so the tyrant that was freely elected is no longer in office as President but that does not mean that there are not tyrants still in political offices, businesses or bureaucracies.

But, the modern pulpits have not raised up men and women of God that understand the full perspective of engaging the culture and political environment. Therefore, the leadership that should be governing is obviated by social justice warrior and the false narrative of tolerance; to the extent that immorality and evil is subsuming the the rightful place of peaceful living that our Constitutional Republic guarantees.

So the theology of Christian Resistance is not understood. It really means Christian Leadership but…. the pulpits have not developed much of that over the last 150 years.

Disobedience Today:

I will just leave it at this: Go read the Chaplains and Clergy Of The Revolution. Then apply the principles to the present.

Our action Item

is to understand our Christian Founders like Sam Adams who knew what true Christian Resistance is.

And because you keep asking!

Israel Evans was one with and of the heart and spirit of King David. He was finally attuned to military life, battle and the “Extensibility” of the Gospel. Chaplains and Clergy of the Revolution: Chapter 29 – David Avery

David Avery.   David Avery

David Avery’s story brought tears to my eyes. I have never met a modern Pastor like him.: — His Birth And Character. — Converted Under Whitfield. — Leaves His Trade To Study For The Ministry. — Enters Dr. Wheelock’s Charity School. — Graduates At Yale College. — Studies Divinity. — A Missionary Among The Indians. — Settled At Gaysboro, Vermont. — His Patriotism. — Raises A Company And Marches To Boston. — Made Chaplain. — Noddle’s Island. — Present At The Battle Of Bunker Hill. — Praying For Victory. — Accompanies Washington Through The Jerseys. — Wounded At Trenton. — At Valley Forge. — At Ticonderoga. — At Bennington. — His Death.

David Avery was “gentle and kind in his manners, and with a heart full of tenderness, he had at the same time a bold and fearless nature which, when roused, it was dangerous to oppose.” He is highly honored by Washington for his heroic acts as a soldier and Minister of God. Most interesting is that this was a young man who worked hard to same money to go to college. The reason he wanted to go was that he became a believer in Jesus through the ministry of George Whitefield. Continue reading

Chaplains and Clergy of the Revolution: Chapter 28 – John Witherspoon

John Witherspoon.  John Witherspoon

John Witherspoon is one of my most favorite pastors and statesman. He was a strong Patriot working side by side with Sam Adams: — The Clergy as Statesmen. — Witherspoon a Scotchman by Birth. — His Early Life. — Is licensed to preach. — Joins the Army of the Pretender. — Taken Prisoner at the Battle of Falkirk. — His Eminence as a Theologian. — Is elected President of Princeton College. — Flattering Reception in this Country. — Takes Sides with the Colonies. — Elected Member of the New Jersey Legislature. — Scathing Attack of Governor Franklin. — Elected Member of Congress. — His Speech on the Declaration of Independence. — His Great Services in Congress. — His Death.

John Witherspoon had a close working relationship with Samuel Adams. They both stayed in the Continental Congress when all was in a shambles as well as in great success. Continue reading
