Rickie Fowler girlfriend: Who is Allison Stokke? Is she supporting him at the Ryder Cup?

The Ryder Cup began on Friday, and continues over this weekend, with world-class golfers from Europe and the US competing in teams for the top spot.

Prior to the competition launch, the golfers from each team rubbed shoulders at a gala event in the luxurious palace of Versailles.

Each player was accompanied by their partner, and there was an appearance from Sergio Garcia’s young daughter Azelia.

Among the players was Rickie Fowler, who was joined by athlete and fitness model Allison Stokke.

Who is Allison Stokke?

Allison Stokke is known for her career in fitness, where she has been both a star athlete and model for fitness brands.

Stokke grew up in the USA, where she comes from a family invested in sporting at a young age.

Her brother was formerly a national level youth gymnast, and Allison herself was initially a gymnast, taking up the pole vault in her teens.

Her first title win in 2004 was for the sport, which she picked up with a new high school record 12 feet and 6 inches.

There was controversy surrounding another one of her appearances during a 2007 event in New York.

Then 17 years old, the vaulter was photographed whilst competing, which was put online and later reposted by sports blog With Leather.

Her image was widely sexualised by male fans, and attracted attention from national media outlets condemning it.

The combined fame and sporting success led her to begin modelling for sportswear, appearing with major companies Nike and Uniqlo from 2015-16.

Notably, Stokke was preparing for the Olympics during a career high in 2012, managing a lifetime best of 14 feet, 3 1/2 inches.

Sadly, she was unable to compete in the London competition, failing to clear a large opening height of almost 14 feet.

Despite declining in performance later on, Stokke has continued to compete nationally in the pole vault.

Her most recent ranking was in 2017 when she managed to obtain third place at the Austin Longhorn Invitational with 4.27 metres.

Ricky Fowler and Allison Stokke became engaged this year, after the couple started dating in 2017.

The coupling and engagement marked an end to Rickie Fowler’s time as a bachelor, famously turning up to the 2016 Ryder Cup gala without a partner.

This year Allison has joined Rickie at the France competition, appearing with him at the preceding gala.

The two were pictured with broad smiles during a photoshoot at the Versailles location, where Allison was dressed in a figure-hugging white and silver dress.

Stokke regularly features pictures of the couple on her Instagram page, and she frequently joins her fiancee on his golfing bouts around the world.
