For decent Indian cuisine, head to Indian Jewel, conveniently located in the Old Town. Though don’t set your expectations too high, and expect high prices. It is not easy to find a good Indian restaurant in Prague—but all is not lost, as a less costly and recommended option is Lal Qila situated in Vinohrady. The vegetarian dishes there are exquisite.

Curry House

CurryHouse is a typical Indian and Bangladeshi Restaurant located just slightly outside the city centre, near Palmovka metro. The prices are reasonable, the service is friendly, and the portions are really huge. Be warned and take an appetizer with care to make sure you leave space for one of the tasty main meals. Prices for mains range from 150 to 500 CZK.

Dilli Delhi

Come here to taste the fine Halal Indian cuisine, accompanied by cocktails and Indian music. Mains are under200 CZK, and the lunch menu is only 99 CZK.

Khajuraho

Khajuraho has a Persian atmosphere, with rugs scattered on the ground, Indian sculptures tucked into niches, and textiles shining colourfully under glass tabletops. It’s definitely a great centrally located spot with good service. An all-you-can-eat menu is available from 5.30 pm till 11 pm for 290 CZK (including beer/soft drink). Mains cost from 300 to 700 CZK.

Himalaya

Himalaya is an authentic Indian Restaurant in the centre of Prague, although service might be a bit slow. On the menu is traditional Indian cuisine, tandoori oven, halal meat and vegetarian food. Most mains are around 200 to 300 CZK.

Indian Jewel

It’s a nice Indian restaurant situated in the heart of Prague’s Old Town, with marble floors, chunky wooden chairs, copper tableware and restrained oriental décor. In the summer, sitting outside in the courtyard is a better choice. The food is delicious, ranging from the delicacies of the peppery south up to the platters from the divine north. These dishes will not only seduce you with their aroma but will entangle your tongue in a never before experienced passion. Mains are from 230 to 300 CZK.

Masala

This chain of Indian restaurants offers cheap, good food and none of the stultifying atmosphere and stiff service you normally find at Indian places in Prague. Dishes are prepared by professional Indian chefs, offering tasty food from all corners of India. Just one comment: the food could use more spice, but they probably aim at locals who are not used to too much spice in their meals. Mains cost from 150 to 300 CZK, and degustation set menus for two are from 1100 to 1800 CZK. Currently, they have two locations in Vinohrady – one in Pod Karlovem 12/1574, and the other at Mánesova 13. There is also one location at Průhonice, Tulipánová 142.

The Pind

One of the best Indian restaurants in Prague, with warm and personalised service. From Kashmiri food to Punjabi, a large variety of food is always good and to the best standards. Vegetarian and main courses are reasonably priced at around 200 to 250 CZK.
