Does anyone constantly rewatch the same TV shows, movies for comfort but occasionally notice jokes, etc that you didn't notice before even tho you've watched it a handful of times previously?
I've been watching a new show called "Nora from Queens" and have rewatched them a handful of times before and I notice new subtle and blatant jokes every time. I wonder if my mind has been drifting off in the previous watches. 🤔 I'm not currently on medication for my adhd but have been diagnosed w/adhd when I was a teenager. I am currently 38 years old. I do take anti anxiety and anti depression meds and have been diagnosed w/ major depressive disorder and major anxiety disorder. I have a touch of OCD also. And quite possibly undiagnosed with very mild autism. I quit smoking "____" 2+ years ago bc it was only giving me panic attacks and too strong even tho I previously smoked to even me out and only smoked a small amount also for severe stomach cramps. I've noticed since I've stopped smoking that sometimes I lose my train of thought but almost always quickly pick it back up.
Sorry for the long winded explanation, I tend to over explain stuff. 😅 lol
Love y'all.
I thought I was the only one to do this! I’m constantly saying how much I love repetitive stories, movies TV shows!
It's pretty common. The office was still one of the most watched shows on Netflix when it was taken off, and it was already like 15 years old.
People LOVE to rewatch shows they really liked the first time. It would be on our little information plaque in an alien zoo "humans: homo sapien: Terra minoris ape descendent. Likes, to eat "cheese", and to "rewatch TV shows*" (TV is a primitive entertainment system utilized by almost all humans. For more information on the "Terra minoris deeducation effort" please continue onward to the exhibit labeled "TELEVISION, THE DOWNFALL OF TERRA MINORIS") Dislikes: moderately extreme temperatures and other humans"
after years of saying "i dont really watch anything" i realized thats a lie because i do watch things--its just the same shows and movies over and over.
on my nth rewatch of community, catching new funny moments constantly!!
Just got into season 6 for whatever number today and just noticed in the episode where subway is buying the school but the old computer guy owns it, the new table Jeff and Britta were about to have sex on says table in the middle lol
love it. i just turned off meowmeowbeenz, i think you're a few eps ahead of me. but i kinda love that we're watching it together (the person who got me hooked on it has passed so it feels a lil bittersweet even tho our friendship had been over for years by the time she died). overshare!!
I setup a Plex server for myself, because I watch the same shows over and over so much.
I can't watch something twice, i get too bored.
ALL of us hun!
ADHD is hereditary, so for daughter (22), it's the shows, Friends, Law & Order and Modern Family.
For me it's music and listening to books on Audible.
Yepyepyep, my family always asked me why I like to watch the same movies over and over and over again and now I understand it. 😅
Yes, same, bob’s burgers and archer for a lot of 2020. I’m just all about both shows.
Star Wars the clone wars, on my 17th watch
I also listen to the same song to go to sleep
What song is that?
Anvil by Lorn
All the time 🙌😭🤣
Dr house for me
Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law is primo for this. Every Time I rewatch, I catch another joke. Amazing what they can fit into 10 minute episodes.
I watch Grey’s Anatomy until I get to the current episodes then start over again.
I have seen the big bang theory to completion 5 times. I think there is your answer but tbh I'm gonna watch it again soon.
Also the office is amazing, any new-ish sitcom just make me so happy
This isn’t an adhd thing
Most people don’t actually focus 100% when watching TV — they’re playing on their phones, having conversations, cooking food. If anyone does a rewatch, and actually watches with some intention, they’ll catch jokes they didn’t catch last time.
Hell, Arrested Development had jokes in the background of Season 1, that aren’t explained until Season 3 or so. The writers made it so you had to go back and rewatch, to catch some of the jokes.
I cant rewatch things. Which is ridiculous...because I want to. Instead...I'm just bored of the "not new". I need constant new stimuli. Rewatching things is boring. Even though I totally missed things and it wouldn't be and when forced to do it...I like it. Just impossible to do myself.
Except Band of Brothers and The Pacific, for some reason.
