After four-and-a-half years of marriage Catt Sadler has filed for divorce from British film producer Rhys David Thomas.

The E! News correspondent filed papers today in Los Angeles.

Sadler and Thomas, who produced Offender, and Private Peaceful, eloped in December 2011. Sadler, the international spokesperson for the Women Like Us Foundation, has two sons from a previous marriage.

In a statement released through a representative exclusively to PEOPLE, the popular E! News Weekend co-host is hopeful, insisting that she and Thomas will remain friends throughout this amicable split.

“I’m excited about this next chapter of my life,” Sadler says. “Change is never easy, but my children remain my upmost priority. I’m no different than many single working mothers faced with the pressures of the constant juggle. It can be exhausting but it is extremely rewarding.”

She adds, “I always land on my feet and am surrounded by a loving support system. Life continues to teach us about ourselves each day. I am thankful for life s lessons. My eyes are only looking forward.

Sadler has been a fixture on the E! Network for the past 10 years and is currently producing her first documentary, Women Like Us.
