What travelers are saying
- FilmdirstaidArdrossan, UK14 contributionsSo after wanting to go to miniature wonderland for 10 years we finally went. this was well worth the wait.
Everything from the customer service at the front desk to the staff on hand.
This is not just a model railway. I am interested in model railways but this is on a different scale.
We spent 9 hours here.
It was quite busy so hard to see the detail . Every aspect of life is detailed. Myself and my father also went back a second day in the evening which was better to see the detail as it was quiet.
Food and drink at the cafe was well priced and very good.
I must say this did not disappoint. In any way!
This is a must if ever in Hamburg.Written April 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. However, I'd recommend that if you don't want a paid guided tour but want to see around Hamburg port and harbour area jump on one of the ferries that run all day and late into the night. Pay for a single journey and do the whole circuit around the harbour if you want, or jump off and explore a different area then either get back on, or use the great public transport to get back to base. Another single ticket may be needed or go for one of the multi trip/time options to do as you please.Written March 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BraindamagedbaronNewark-on-Trent, UK465 contributionsSpeicherstadt is like taking a trip back in time. It's an oddly beautiful place whose literal translation is 'Storage City.' As you might expect from the name, the area was built to cater for the huge amount of imports flowing into Hamburg port in the late nineteenth century.
Have a wander over the famous Brooksbrücke Bridge into the heart of Speicherstadt. Take a camera and appreciate the German architecture and general atmosphere of the region. Set out in blocks named in sequence with letters of the alphabet, Speicherstadt is a hidden gem in the heart of a bustling city.Written April 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The tunnel is free to enter and is a reasonably short walk right under the river. If you feel brave climb the stairs but large lifts will bring you up and down. Bring your bike if you want.Written April 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- barbara t4 contributionsBeautiful green space for walking relaxing and contemplation. Lovely paths and seating areas where you can explore the scenery. Doesn't feel like you are in the city. Wear something with Glitter.
Winter Glitzer. With food and drink.
We watched a top Show .
I didnt know what to expect and it was great fun.

The 112 metres tall tower can be seen for miles and helps to navigate around the city.
The City Hall is open to the public, and visitors can join a guided tour and many exhibitions are housed inside the building. It's certainly worth the time to have a good look around inside to appreciate the architecture and scale of the place.

- Lauro ACuritiba, PR34 contributionsWe went to Hamburg to know the port our great grandfather used to leave Europe to move to Brazil with his family. This museum was a great experience to understand the context they were in the time they decided to immigrate. Understanding this context make you understand the courage they had to have to get the whole family in a ship trying to find a better place to live.Written April 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alan GCrawley, UK120 contributionsA lovely couple of hours spent learning about how chocolate is made - topped off by decorating our own chocolate bar. The inevitable happens at the end where you are deposited in a shop full of chocolate - very clever marketing!
