Management is horrible. They have no respect for the employees. The supervisors talk down to the employees and disrespect them infront of customers.
Customer service (Former Employee) - Boston - January 4, 2020
Unhealthy working environment. Flights are mostly delayed or cancelled which put stress on the employees. Supervisors are not helpful. Computer system is difficult to use. They oversell their flights. Horrible company to work for. I was based in Boston. The supervisor was a big bully. The agents are not welcoming. I hated this job.

Lack of motivation.
Airport Service Coordinator (Current Employee) - Newark Liberty International Airport, NJ - December 16, 2019
I definitely think that Air CANADA can do a better job in terms of compensation and employees happiness. We generate so much revenue for the company but we are very under appreciated.

Don't do it!
Air Canada Customer Service (Former Employee) - Tampa, FL - November 15, 2019
This place is a nightmare. Like literally it's stressful and wouldn't recommend anyone going to them! The people I met were amazing but management are crazy hard. Air Canada will screw you over at all possible cost! Even if you were right they will decide to go with the passenger first and foremost.

High Stress / Low Employee value
Station Attendant (Current Employee) - Terminal 1 - September 29, 2019
In 30 years as a black man who's navigated through different careers and spaces, I have to say that working for Air Canada has to be the worst job experience thus far.
You're paid $14/hour as a station attendant; you're given a multitude of tasks day to day. For those who have just started, you stand in front of a belt most of the day and throw bags in a container and make sure they're sent out to the flights.
The management team is highly unmotivated and unfit for the job. They unfortunately will make the process of working harder than it needs to be based on their character and mood.
Never experienced as much racism towards darker skinned people than I have while working here. I've had management making inappropriate jokes towards me by pretending to radio in an "apprehended suspect" over the walkie-talkie (Just to name one instance).
I highly discourage anyone from working here. You are treated with very little value, and there is very little communication to be had with administration to voice any concern. I don't recommend any apply here unless you solely want flight benefits.

Jobs at Air Canada
Manager dated employees
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - LaGuardia Airport, NY - September 26, 2019
Favoritism because manager dated an employee that is the only reason she got promoted. Besides that company has good benefits and is a good place to work with. HR don’t do much about it.

Horrible,comicable and unwise management
Customer Service Agent (Former Employee) - Boston, MA - September 19, 2019
Managers depend on hear say, play the favoritism game and not about hard work.
They are not knowledgeable so they see knowledgeable and agents who are more educated than they are as a treat and begin to hate them .
It is an ok job but not a job to make more money just the opportunity to travel by getting air tickets but you need money to spend on your vacation.
There is no future working with them. All they think about is profit and themselves not the welfare of employees..Poor empty headed management without any form of how to manage people and work !!
Pros
Discounted to free air tickets
Cons
Empty headed management

Customer Service Agent (CSA)- Seasonal
Customer Service Agent (CSA) (Former Employee) - Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood, FL - July 26, 2019
Most of the work consist of the following: * Check passengers in, verify travel documents, issue boarding passes, seat selections.
* Check in baggage, ensure Company regulation compliance, collect excess charges.
* Provide passengers with relevant information in a timely fashion.
* Coordinate boarding/deplaning of passengers and constantly monitor safety procedures.
Pros
Upon succesful completion of the contract, flight benefits valid on Air Canada routes.
Cons
Must be very flexible with shift modifications during the season, schedule changes and irregularities in daily operations.

Just not worth it.
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - Usa - July 23, 2019
Underpaid, over stressed. You’ll work hard and get little recognition. Your co workers are usually stressed and frustrated if they are working or they are hiding in a break room. Management is extremely overworked, although great. They can’t be at 3 places at once . They will sell you on potential to grow but you won’t ever get to a place of financial independence. Social life? Good luck. Relationship? Not happening. Travel? You’d think they’d actually let you get time off once in a while to travel. Good luck. Stay clear, it’s not worth it .
