Miroljub D Great if all you want to see is people beating the snot out of each other. Plot and character development are tertiary to this movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/11/24 Full Review Hargie M A symphony of hyperactive beatdowns, each fight a brushstroke on the canvas of chaos. Every scene is a crescendo of brutality, an aria of aggression that leaves audiences breathless. This will leave you on the edge of your seat, craving an encore. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/09/24 Full Review Erik y Beautifully choreographed and violent. Pretty generic story is used just to show off the fighting. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/05/24 Full Review Noah W Really brutal and a lot of fighting. Why use your words when you have your fists Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/24 Full Review Arthur M It's not very realistic, but it is SO well made it feels like it it! If you like martial-arts action movies, i'd 100% recommend this one to you! The editing and soundtrack are overall really well done, and they establish a really well paced rhytm throughout the movie. Some fights are amongst some of the most unique i've ever seen, and most action moments display a great level of inventivity, as the choreography of most scenes are very creative, and the camera work let you see all the stunt work quite clearly. The editing works really well around the gaps where it would be too risky for someone to do it, and the special effects are discrete but effective as well. The photography is also really adequate for its purposes, and it does its job quite well without even being noticeable. The script is kinda generic, but for the purposes of the movie is fine enough. It doesn't have any noticeable plot holes, and it establishes the characters' lore well enough. The acting is not amazing as well, but it is decent enough for them to sell their characters, and they deserve hats of for the REALLY well choreographed fight scenes. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/25/24 Full Review Yash B In terms of action and fight sequences, "The Raid: Redemption" is awesome. The movie is a nonstop action ride that kept me entertained. I think the issue with it is that there is pretty much no exposition and minimal reasons to care about anyone. I felt like if there was even just a little bit of character development before diving into the action, it could have been a more effective package. I still think the movie is very entertaining and is violent and dark where it needs to be. Overall, it is a movie that is good for what it is but I can't help but feel it could have been even better with a little more depth in its storytelling. Tambay Obenson Shadow and Act [Redemption] is a relentless, bloody, brutal action movie, with successive scene after scene of balls-to-the-wall-style choreographed violence. Aug 14, 2017 Full Review Grady Hendrix Film Comment Magazine Hollywood is particularly unsuited to producing sensation cinema these days. Nov 5, 2013 Full Review Chase Whale Film.com My only complaint about The Raid is that it ended. Aug 28, 2013 Full Review Peter Gray The AU Review Immensely fresh in that it truly feels like a film that will harm you at any given moment. Rated: 4/5 Apr 24, 2024 Full Review Douglas Davidson Elements of Madness Not only do the two actors make an indelible impression with their physical prowess, Evans’s direction and storytelling draws us in further so that each moment of character desperation holds audiences in a steel grip. Jan 18, 2024 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies The action is furious and non-stop, and Evans makes no bones about the type of movie he’s making. It’s heart-pounding and occasionally thrilling, but don’t expect much in terms of plot or character development. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 24, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews
