Jobs at GM Financial
It’s like any other call center job but with great pay and benefits
Customer Experience Advocate (Current Employee) - Arlington, TX - April 20, 2024
What is the best part of working at the company? On the positive side, you get the standard paid holidays, PTO, Vacation time and 8 hours of community investment time each quarter paid. GM Financial is very involved with the community and they listen to employees for the most part. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? My department is quick to make changes to policies and you won’t know until you get called in the office for a coaching on something you didn’t know changed. They have this one thing that is very annoying where, we have to file a complaint on every little thing. If the customer calls in saying I’m mad because it’s raining today, we have to file a complaint. Another dumb and stressful part about the job is that in my department, we are graded on our clicks per second so we are constantly having to click our keyboard even when there is idle or down time. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It’s peaceful and fun at times What is a typical day like for you at the company? Like any other call center job

Productive and fun place
Post funding fee-follow up (Former Employee) - Arlington, TX - April 8, 2024
As an employee at GM Financial, I find the work life to be dynamic and collaborative. The atmosphere is supportive, with ample opportunities for growth and development. GM Financial places a strong emphasis on work-life balance and offers various benefits and resources to support its employees. The company fosters a positive and inclusive workplace culture, although experiences can vary based on individual roles, teams, and personal preferences. It's always helpful to research reviews and connect with current or former employees for more insights into specific departments or positions.

Hands down a terrible place to work
Customer Service/Collections (Former Employee) - Chandler, AZ - April 5, 2024
I thought this would be a great company the only person I can see who cared about his job or the employees was the trainer. Once your training is completed you are excepted to meet all standards of the job.The management provides little direction as do the team leads there main goal is numbers. I did accomplish meeting stats it is attainable if your focused however the tl are the reason I would never recommend this company once you hit the floor they don’t have time for you they rude they bully you and make you feel like your stupid. They do give good benefits package however most my training class used to doing the first months as we just wanted to avoid this place. Also they encourage you do completed company policies updates on your own time and come in early to complete any tasks that you have left .This company was the worst call center I’ve worked for in my 10 plus yrs customer service/collections.
Pros
Discounted lunch, good benefits
Cons
Shorts breaks if you go over your break you don’t get paid, tl are bully’s

I would Never work for the huntersville again.
Collections Specialist (Former Employee) - Charlotte, NC - April 2, 2024
What is the best part of working at the company? The worst experience ever! If you were homeless looking for a job stay homeless it’s less stressful. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The management staff was terrible. Zero out of ten would not recommend. Most micromanagement company I’ve ever worked for. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Stressful work culture no work life balance What is a typical day like for you at the company? Headaches after headaches literally sick from stress

Hybrid schedule
Risk Analyst (Current Employee) - Detroit, MI - April 1, 2024
The hybrid schedule is nice and is helpful for those that live far from work. Management is approachable but can sometimes be intimidating. 3/5 stars to work here

Chaotic
Vice President IT (Former Employee) - Detroit, MI - March 25, 2024
What is the best part of working at the company? IT is poorly led. No real strategy. Leaders think it’s a bank. Not a place for talented people. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Lack of consistent direction. Too many conflicting priorities. IT leaders lack experience and foresight to manage this organization What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Corporate is well managed but IT has all new leaders who don’t know the business What is a typical day like for you at the company? Meetings, meetings, meetings. IT has numerous meetings to rehash the same things over and over again.

I learned a lot working with professional staff at GM. The hardest part of the job was the drive. Great people. Great place to start a career. Pay is just ok

Decent work place
Collections Representative (Former Employee) - San Antonio, TX - March 9, 2024
It is a decent place to work but, I was so stressed out by the end of the day that I couldn’t even get rest for the next day. And I didn’t get more than an 80 cents raise, and I was there for 4 years.
Pros
Friendly place
Cons
Overly stressful and not enough raises

Decent
Account Representative (Current Employee) - Texas - March 8, 2024
Long story short, decent pay for what we do, easy job. Annoying customers, hybrid schedule, not fully remote. No exceptions. Yearly raises equate to around 50 cents a year. Quarterly bonuses

Amazing people from the the bottom to the top!
Customer Experience Representative (Current Employee) - Chandler, AZ - March 7, 2024
It is a call center so its a lot of calls and handling customer concerns. Everyone I have ever met from coworkers to supervisors to upper management are just friendly people. They are supportive of your goals even if they don't include staying with the company. If you do your job and take care of business when they are paying you to do it then you are good.
Pros
Great team, management, upper management.
Cons
Some of the complaints from customers.

Productive and moderate workplace
Customer Engagement Analyst (Current Employee) - Fort Worth, TX - February 29, 2024
Lots of opportunity for growth depending on department. Have seen varied opinions depending on the team you’re a part of. The pay is pretty standard and the benefits are also standard.

It was alright
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - San Antonio, TX - February 26, 2024
Typical day at work, be in by 8am, and ready to go on the phones. The headsets were hard to hear customers. The system itself is flawed, you can’t tell if someone answeres the phone and end up doing a voice mail message and then customer says “I’m here…”. Training was fun though.
Pros
Cafeteria, nurse office, and work out room available
Cons
Short breaks. Paid bi-weekly

Okay place to work
Senior Funder (Current Employee) - Arlington, TX - February 25, 2024
GM Financial can be an okay place to work and the work/life balance is okay. GM Financial provides many of the benefits of a large company and also has some of the negatives that are associated with a large company.

Good place to work, but management in general are not very open to innovation.
Production Manager (Former Employee) - Brazil - February 21, 2024
It’s a good place to work if your are looking for a reasonable work-life balance. However the middle and senior managers have topically a micro management style and are not really open to innovation, different approaches or opinions.

Good growth opportunities for all
Loss Recovery Specialist (Former Employee) - Arlington, TX - February 5, 2024
Pay could be better but they do give you raises and make sure they are keeping up with inflation. You get commission quarterly which is usually around 1-2k. Politics can be terrible at any job, but some departments had terrible politics specifically mine. The VP off loss recovery was terrible and lead with a dictator mindset. The company is great over all I loved the morale and how they care for their employees.
