Depends on Management and Franchise
Night Auditor/Front Desk Clerk (Former Employee) - San Antonio, TX - December 30, 2022
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWith a good manager it can be a really good job, especially of you like being up at night and working in files on the computer. Customers are sometimes awful but some are mice and good management will have your back (varies by property). Working at night I did an entire online college degree on the front desk computer so it fits well for online college students or students who have classes during the day and want to work at night.

Needs not met
Front Desk Clerk (Former Employee) - Birmingham, AL - April 27, 2022
Just doesn't meet needs, there are so many things I could say. Low pay, excessive hours. Terrible training. Would not recommend working here. It is not a good job at all

Front Desk Agent (Current Employee) - Atlanta, GA - April 20, 2022
My management team was inconsistent. I enjoyed working with most of my coworkers. The rude guest makes coming back a chore. I truly loved the pleasant guest. The hardest part is being professional while being scolded from guest for something out of your control mainly a different department.

Not what they initially present
Front Desk Clerk (Former Employee) - Colorado Springs, CO - April 17, 2022
A front desk position merits little support from management, and employees are rarely praised and often penalized. Training was inadequate and composed of a lot of “clicking” on a screen that acknowledged the click every 10th time or so. Security is laughable, and this was in a downtown setting with a lot of foot traffic. Turnover is very high, and the expectation of employees to work extra hours with little notice is tiring and stressful.
Pros
Free meals, often cold and sometimes with extra hair
Cons
Working alone, stressful and sometimes scary environment, very lax security

Coworkers
Front Desk Agent (Current Employee) - Myrtle Beach, SC - March 29, 2022
Pay sucks. High turnover rate. Can’t keep help but won’t pay more to employees that show up and do good work consistently. Ok benefits. Good coworkers.
Pros
Free lunch
Cons
30 min breaks

Job is challenging and you will learn a lot in the industry
Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) - Miami, FL - March 13, 2022
The job can be fun when interacting with guests and team members. Keep in mind that hospitality is a fast pace environment and you will be encountering many guests with unique questions, problems, and interactions. Work shift can be long and challenging and parking in Miami Beach is always hard to find.

Jaded by poor upper management and rude guests
Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) - San Gabriel, CA - March 8, 2022
Was told by many senior colleagues right after accepting job that they intentionally hire young people because we are replaceable.. work environment is extremely hostile and toxic. Always drama between coworkers and departments much like high school. They only care about numbers and disregard employee well being. Team morale is low and management is incompetent. Quick to place blame on employees without knowing the facts or running a thorough investigation. GM AND HR sits in office and watches employees on the camera everyday for fun, which is very uncomfortable and creepy. Would not recommend working here long term. If you are studying hospitality, get your experience and leave. Minimal growth opportunities here unless someone quits or gets fired.
Pros
Free lunch
Cons
Poor benefits, low pay, toxic work environment, lack of opportunities for growth, incompetent management, low team morale

Fast past environment with nice management. It gets really busy at times depending on conventions. Otherwise if you know your job well it wont be too hard.
Pros
Free lunch
Cons

it was great meeting people from all over the world, exciting to work on days with events such as certain holidays; very fast pace; this was pre Covid when I work here.

Lack of good management.
Front Desk Clerk (Former Employee) - Lewisville, TX - February 18, 2022
New management didn't know what was going on on the property, it seemed like he was just there to clean house from previous management without working with the good coworkers that were willing to work the extra mile and yet he didn't care about it instead he got rid of them.

Excellent
Front Desk Agent (Current Employee) - Cincinnati, OH - January 21, 2022
Superb company with plenty of advancement opportunities. Wages could be better but good enough for what it is depending on location. Managers are awesome and make you feel appreciated for your work.

Management and coworkers were amazing. Very supportive.
Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) - Dania Beach, FL - January 19, 2022
Good job if you can manage living on the salary. I learned a lot. I still maintain friendships with old coworkers. Room for advancement. I would recommend this particular work place.
Pros
The people I worked with. Free breakfast.
Cons
Standing all day. Salary was ridiculously low.

Great learning experience but horrible pay. Your will be working there for years and have someone less experienced make more money than you.
Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) - Silver Spring, MD - January 5, 2022
Great learning experience but horrible pay. Your will be working there for years and have someone less experienced make more money than you. Expect the world but do not compensate their workers. Yearly reviews with no pay increase.

Average desk Job.
Front Desk Lead (Former Employee) - Roanoke, VA - December 8, 2021
Either day is either hit or miss. It’s either a really good day or a really bad day. The job itself is easy but guests are what make it difficult. Hilton also offers amazing employee benefits it’s the only reason I stayed so long.
Pros
Amazing discounted hotel rooms anywhere
Cons
Boring shifts, guests can be a pain, no work/life balance

has perks but low pay
Front desk (Former Employee) - Massachusetts - December 4, 2021
Low pay was a drawback. I wish they emphasized letting the employee work in all departments to get a feel for. It was a job nothing, it is good if gig just want to get some experience in the hotel industry.
Pros
Free lunch
Cons
Low pay

You meet interesting people and co-workers
Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) - Milton, MA - December 3, 2021
Travel around the world while you stand in one place! As one of the most well-known hotel chains in the world, Hilton Hotels puts applicants through intensive yet relatively simple hiring processes to gain employment. And it can be quite fun!
Pros
Meet a lot of people, nice co-workers
Cons
Low pay, long hours on your feet

Save yourself the patience by staying away from this company.
Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) - Virginia Beach, VA - December 3, 2021
I want to preface this by saying I have never, EVER, had to go as far as writing a negative review about a company I have worked for. My experience here was genuinely horrible. I could not even last longer than two months being employed as a Front Desk employee at this property, and that is the shortest time I have ever been employed with someone before. To start off, I came into this company with a positive attitude and excitement as I thought further into how this could be a life changing job for my future. They were having an entire management change as I came into the company, so I knew patience was going to be key as we were all adjusting to the new environment. Throughout my training process, I caught onto the job very quickly. But despite the computer training you are put through, you will struggle indefinitely in knowing how to successfully do your job due to the lack of communication between simple processes. Every single employee had either a different understanding or no understanding as to how to do many tasks within the Front. I made it a priority to take the initiative to ask as many questions as possible to be able to complete my job without any flaws. Whereas it was not a co-workers issue that they were not completely informed on how to do a lot of things, it did not help when I was not able to go to them with a simple question to only coming back with more confusion. This was an outstanding issue throughout my time there. To continue, I had an even worse experience here attempting to find a level of respect between my co-workers and I. Never have I ever had -

Work if you have a plan to do somethig better in near future. Have seen people working for almost a decade for $17hr in one hotel. Management varies hotel to hotel.
Pros
Free lunches
Cons
No benifits, they try to get rid of old empoyees and hire new so they have to pay less.

Biased and extremely rude.
Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) - Florida - November 24, 2021
The employees that work there are extremely biased and no help. Very unwelcoming and get in your face and yell for no reason of your own. I thought it was a great place to work but the other employees made you feel like you had to sit in the back of the bus.
Pros
Good insurance
Cons
Don’t do it !
