When His disciples asked Him what will be the sign of His second coming at the end of the age, the Lord Jesus answered, “See to it that no one misleads you, for many will come in My name saying, ‘I am the Christ, and will mislead many.'” (Matthew 24:3-5)
Of all the things He could have said, the rise of false prophets was His number one concern, His number one warning, and He was specifically speaking about our generation, those living when He returns. This week, three Mormon missionaries came to my house. I wasn’t planning to share what happened until yesterday when I was having my prayer time and God put it on my heart to share it here. At first, I did not understand why, but as I started preparing this message, it became clear to me this goes way beyond Mormons. It includes all sorts of deceivers who are coming to our generation. I believe God is concerned about us and warning it is time to prepare for the great deception coming.
Many of these false prophets are well organized and well trained. They are ready for us, but are we ready for them? The Lord Jesus warned many in our generation will be led astray, so we would be wise to heed His warnings by preparing ourselves, but how do we do that? That’s the topic covered in this 50-minute audio message shown below.

Michael G. says
By their fruits ye shall know them. A bad tree cannot bring forth good fruit.
Joseph Smith was a treasure hunter by trade. He had a “magic stone” that he used as guidance to tell property owners where to dig for buried treasure. You can imagine how well that went.
Then he claimed to have been shown some golden plates and to have translated them by means of magic spectacles, all of which disappeared afterward. He sent his manuscript to a language expert for evaluation, and the expert found it to be gibberish. He never received the manuscript back.
After this, he came up with the Book of Mormon. How? He no longer had golden plates or magic specs, so he placed his magic stone in his hat and then sat with his face buried inside the hat, and he dictated. This book was supposed to be a translation of something written over a thousand years earlier, and yet it came out sounding just like a King James Bible even though people in the 1800s didn’t speak that way; in fact, many Book of Mormon passages are identical (or nearly so) to KJV Bible passages.
Smith managed to use his writings to gather a sizable following to himself. He also used his writings to justify taking over two dozen wives (over the objections of his original wife); some of these wives were married to other men, but he convinced the couples that it was God’s will for Joseph to wed and bed the woman. (This is remarkably similar to the way in which Muhammad conveniently received ‘revelations’ that allowed him to demand that couples divorce so he could wed the woman the same night.)
Smith also prophesied concerning a plot of land in Missouri, and the “prophecy” never came to pass.
It’s interesting to notice that cults usually arise with a strong individual at the head. This is a common thread. LDS members are followers of Joseph Smith. Muslims are followers of Muhammad. Roman Catholics are followers of the Pope, a man who “stands in the place of Christ.” JWs are followers of Charles Taze Russell. But we are not to be followers “of Paul” or “of Apollos” or of any normal man. True Christians are followers of only one person, Jesus Christ, who is truly God and truly man.

Thanks for this great info Michael.

Hey guys and gals,
Just found this blog from a link found on Steve Q’s web sight.
First off, hope all is well in these latter days, I enjoy reading about end times, even before they happen. That article about the Charlottesville interview from a first hand witness really strikes my imagination. The article eventually lead me to this one.
Yes, it was those darn Missionaries that caught my eye, but frankly, I wanted to read your comments more than the actual article.
I want to ask you something. What does one have to loose by following the laws of Christ’s teachings, whether it be organized by a sect or intra-personal study within a home library?
What moral laws does a member of the LDS faith break away from that would cause them to be cast into the pits of hell? What does one have to loose by following Gospel Principles, paying tithing, keeping the Sabbath Holy, honoring your spouse and children? What does one have to loose from abstaining from alcohol and drugs, premarital sex and so forth.
As for the question regarding same sex marriage in the temple. What? I’m not sure I follow, I simply smile and move on when a question like that is thrown into the wheel.
There is so much anti-Mormon stuff out there that distracts folks from a focus on Christ. I know because I spent most of my life utilizing that propaganda to stay grounded in environments that “set me free.”
I believe we all worship the same Christ, when we pray, regardless of affiliation, we pray to the same God. Christ Atoned for the children of this world so that we may become whole and return one day. Because we lack perfection we will need the Grace of God to become perfect, otherwise surely we must fall to the very pits of hell. It has nothing to do with the lack of belief with the Supreme’s judgement but rather the understanding of hope and faith that will lead to his saving grace, without it, every single person reading this media would fall short. Promise.
Like I said, I enjoy reading blogs and such, check out Steve Quayle’s web sight, it too can be enjoyable to read, you’ll just have to use your common sense to weed through some of the stuff out there, just like on this sight.
May God bless and truly, keep reading your scriptures, prepare physically, spiritually and emotionally for the Second Coming. Regardless of the church you belong to, I hope to find a fellow brother or sister in these latter days, we all need one another.

Do read the article. No, LDS is not a Christian church. It is a cult. My prayers are that Jesus, who is not Satan’s brother, would reveal His truth to these poor deceived people.
Francy says
I have a testimony about this. A few months ago, I was visited by Jehovah’s Witnesses and needless to say they were trying to convince me that Jesus is not God’s Son but a prophet. They were also astonished when I spoke to them about the Holy Spirit. Well, afterwards I felt such grief because we went back and forth about their beliefs and mine. At the end, I felt so inadequate because I could not help them see the Truth and because I got into a big discussion that I felt did not profit anything.
So I asked the Lord about what to do when I get a next visit from them again and to my surprise the Holy Spirit took me immediately to this:
2 John 7-11 New King James Version (NKJV)
Beware of Antichrist Deceivers
7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 8 Look to yourselves, that we[a] do not lose those things we worked for, but that we[b] may receive a full reward.
9 Whoever transgresses[c] and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; 11 for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.
So please ask the Holy Spirit about what to do before even opening the door of your home. For the devil only comes to kill, to steal and to destroy.
Matt NZ says
Hi Francy, I had them come and I got them to admit that Jesus is The Word of God… show them John 1:1 Next, they kept steering me to “Their” bible (It is a JW version [ edited to support their claims])… I went and got my NKJV.
Rose says
Galatians 1:6-9 Paul’s writing.
6
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7
Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9
As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Becky says
I’m right this moment praying to the God of Israel that the eyes that are sealed will be opened to the truth of the everlasting gospel. That when the truth knocks on the door, they will open the door and receive it.
In Jesus name Amen!
Sujit says
Hey, James,
I thought you might find this interesting. I was just reminded of your experience with these youngsters. And this scripture came into my mind out of the blue:
The people living in darkness have seen a great light.
And that is what I think the youngsters experienced when you explained the Gospel to them—they saw a great light.
James Bailey says
Thanks Sujit. I believe God bypassed their minds and spoke directly to their hearts. Their minds were confused, but their hearts still recognized the truth. After hearing my testimony, one of them said, “What you have shared is the truth.” Which was quite a statement because I contradicted everything they believe. We have been given direct access to God without any need for human mediators.
Paul says
Hi James. I found this encounter with Mormons facinating. Im a Exmormon Elder in Australia, I joined at 11 and left the church in 2003 after deep historical and scripture research reading 3 versions of the sealed portion of book of mormon. Im also a regular reader of Z3News and The Australian Prophetic Council. I believe the LDS church through Satan sent these Missionarys to try and discredit you as a prophetic messenger or leader by trying to convert you to the Mormon church where they don’t allow the gift of personal revelation or prophecy to
trump their authority.
James Bailey says
Thanks for sharing Paul. That is the point I shared with them. It comes down to an issue of trying to control the ministry of the Holy Spirit to each individual, stifling our liberty in Him, like spiritual tyranny, which I despise. Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty, which is why I adamantly oppose their false, man-made religion. It is not of God. Those poor guys were totally bound by Satan through the Mormon church.
jerry rigg says
Fact: Joseph Smith the purported founder of Mormonism IS A FALSE PROPHET. Fact: this website contains a lot of articles by true prophets and messengers of God. Fact: the gift of prophecy is alive and well today.
Fact: “The testimony of Jesus IS the spirit of prophecy.” Enough said?
dannyk says
Paul…care to describe what you mean by the “3 versions of the sealed portion of the book of mormon”?
I know of no claims by the LDS church that they have the sealed portion of the Book of Mormon. So for you to claim to have read them is a curious thing. If anything, the Book of Mormon tells those who receive the book, that if they do not exercise proper faith in Christ, they won’t receive the further portions of the book that have been withheld.
If anything, the absence of these books should show the LDS church that they have not repented as they should have.
And James – you are right that many within the Church seek to constrain/control the ministry of the Holy Spirit. But that is against their own core teachings. But when the words of a current leader become more important than the promptings an individual receives from God….that is to be expected.
Their doctrine is better than they are. Do not think they properly represent the core of their teachings any better than most mainline christian churches represent the truth of Jesus. To deny the bible because of the foolishness of most of those who believe it, would be an error. Would it not? To judge the value of the Bible on the dearth of spirituality in most churches would be to misjudge God and assume those who claim to be His accurately represent him.
Similarly, to deny the teachings of the Book of Mormon because of the errors of those who believe it….what is that actually showing you? Nothing….except that those you are speaking with are in error.
C.S. Christensen says
I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was a missionary in Washington D.C. about 25 years ago. I knocked on people’s doors, I invited people to come to Christ. First and foremost I am a Christian. I love Z3 News. The Elijah List, John Paul Jackson, Perry Stone, Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, and many others. I also love and value the Bible. I also love Joseph Smith and The Book of Mormon as they strengthen my faith and provide a second witness to Jesus Christ. I love seeking more truth, more knowledge, and seeking out the mysteries of the Kingdom. These sweet young men are 18-19 years old. They don’t have all the answers yet. I know my knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ when I was a missionary was not as great as it is now. In fact, I’m constantly adding to my faith there is so much more to learn. I have a son who will be a missionary in a few years. I hope he is welcomed in any of your homes. I hope you will listen to his message and treat him kindly. He’s my baby. I love the parable of the new wine in old wine skins. We all should be adding new wine, but we need new wine skins in order to accept new truths. Our old wine skins won’t hold new wine. I have added so much new wine to my new wine skins just from the posts I find here. Maybe I can add new wine to your new wine skins. If you have questions maybe I can do my best answer your questions. We will rise as a remnant – all of us Christians regardless of our denomination will need to become one. I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of new wine when Christ returns. God bless.
Jamie says
Dear C.S., I am glad that you are seeking the Lord. He loves you! There are so many things in the Mormon church that are simply not true. I wish I could explain it all here, but, ask the Lord to show you, to make sure whether you are following the truth or not. He will be faithful to answer. He says you will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Keep seeking Him. He is faithful. Also, I’m sure your boys are really sweet. It’s not about our worthiness but HIS worthiness. In me dwells no good thing, but in Him I have His goodness and righteousness.
C.S. Christensen says
My hope is that it is not about pointing out differences. We are the body of Christ and we have many things to accomplish. Let’s s work together and strenghten one another. I seek the Lord every day. I know Him and He has blessed me with more than I deserve. I love something that John Paul Jackson taught. He would say you are in the place you were meant to be. God has placed you where your are for a reason for such a time as this. The country, the state, the city, the family, the religion. I come to this place to be uplifted not to be torn down. I seek truth and whether that comes from Mormons, Evangelicals, Pentecostals, Jewish Rabbi’s, etc. – Truth is truth.
James Bailey says
In the context of your Mormon faith, what you call truth is not truth. It is foolish to put forth false teachings that clearly contradict the Bible, then ask Bible believers to embrace it as truth. The only ones who will embrace it are the ones who don’t know the Bible. According to the Bible, anything other than the report of the Lord is an evil report. If we truly care about other people, we would steer them far away from voices of confusion and deception and shine the light to expose evil schemes.
The Book of Mormon violates New Testament prophecy because we no longer follow prophets, whether their name is Joseph Smith or John Paul Jackson. That was the Old Testament. Jesus died on the cross to change all that, to give us a better covenant. Anyone who nullifies what Jesus did on the cross to take us back to Old Testament priesthood and Old Testament prophets makes themselves an enemy of God. 1 Corinthians 14:3 reveals the role of New Testament prophecy is for edification, which means building upon a foundation already laid, in other words, to confirm revelation we have already received. That alone shoots down the book of Mormon. However, there are many serious errors such as baptisms for the dead, requiring ordained Mormon priests to act as mediators between us and God, and elevating another testament above the Holy Bible. The Book of Mormon is an abomination and should be exposed for what it is. So yes, we should clearly point out the differences and expose it for the false man-made religion it is.
B. Hansen says
James,
It is very obvious there are a few active Mormons reading this site, hence the negative votes on may of the comments that point out the truth about Mormonism. All Glory Be to God. He has them here for a reason. We just have to plant the seed of truth and God will do the rest. God will bring the sun and the rain, and before you know it the blinders will be removed and one day they will see that they too have been deceived, like so many of us before them. I’m so thankful the Lord loved me enough to show me truth and reveal the darkness of deception I had been believing in. Thank you Lord Jesus!!!
James Bailey says
Thanks Brenda. I agree, it comes down to a question of the authority of the scriptures. The reason why people get deceived by the Mormon church is because they do not know the scriptures and do not respect the authority of the scriptures. If they did, they would believe me when I show them how the Mormon teachings directly contradict everything Jesus did on the cross, but they dismiss my words because they dismiss God’s words. God never contradicts His own words so anyone who does is not from God. Anyone who knows the truth of the scriptures can quickly and easily recognize the Book of Mormon is not from God, which is how we know it is a lie from Satan. No wonder they steer everyone away from the scriptures by handing out another testament because anyone who knows the true testament exposes their lies.
James Bailey says
As I stated in my podcast, there are surely people who have accepted the Lord Jesus as their savior in the Mormon church, but it was in spite of the Mormon Church, not because of it. The Mormon missionaries who visited with me last week told me their mission statement. It is not a Christian mission, it is to bring people to another testament, not to Jesus Christ. They explained it to me clearly. That is why they do not hand out Bibles. They hand out the Book of Mormon, which they have elevated above the Bible and which contradicts the Bible in many ways. These poor guys were so confused by the Mormon doctrines they had no idea what it meant to be born again or baptized in the Holy Spirit. They knew the terms, but had no idea what they really mean because the Mormons have put them in such bondage they are now in great danger of missing salvation. So, I thank God for those who somehow get saved in spite of the Mormon church, but I encourage everyone to stay far away from it.
Just as I shared in the podcast, when I started to open that book, alarms went off in my spirit and I knew the Holy Spirit was telling me to throw it away and I did.
The testimony I shared on the podcast proves the Mormon Church is false because they claim what I am experiencing daily is impossible without an ordained Mormon priest. Either I am completely deceived or they are and I know Him in whom I have believed. I have the tangible manifestations of His spirit. The Mormon missionaries did not even know what I was talking about. They acted like they never even heard of it before. I urge everyone to come out of that false religion.
jerry rigg says
One thing that stands out to me here sir, is ….why do we need a second witness to Jesus Christ of Nazareth? A second witness as in Joseph Smith (possibly a convicted felon if Im not mistaken) and The book of Mormon (a book with little if any proven historical authentication)? What doesnt quite jive with me is how the Mormons can talk lovingly about Jesus, being born again, etc. and in truth and fact be talking about different concepts and definitions which to me seems deceptive and in the end leads to confusion to true born again (Sola Scriptura) blble believing Christians. I believe in Christian unity but not at the expense of suspect doctrine. My prayers go out to you.
William says
Hi C.S.,
Can you come to a test like this: speak to Jesus and ask Him to choose a church for you. Ask Jesus to send two or three strangers to come to you and face to face to tell you clearly that Jesus want you to go to that church. When these two or three strangers pointing to you to the same church, you need to deem that this is the church Jesus chooses for you. It is a matter of whether you and your son will enter into the heaven or not when the time come. So be very careful. Devil is very cunning. I am sure that Holy Spirit do not operate in any Mormon church .
B. Hansen says
CS,
I will not judge you because I know the LDS church does have some people that know the true Living God, but the doctrine of the church is definitely not biblical and not of God. It really isn’t too hard to see the truth when you approach it with the Bible as the true plumbline. As the Bible says, test all things. Sadly many, many people will use the lust of the eyes to determine truth and satan knows that. Upon first examination the Mormon church looks as if it has everything a person could ever want or need, wholesome family values, morals, a pathway to righteousness, and on and on. However, the Bible warns us about the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. We will all one day have to give an account to God and we each have a responsibility to know what we are believing is truth. The Holy Spirit sent me on a journey 7 years ago to compare the teachings of the LDS church with the Bible. It was extremely eye opening. I will list just a few discrepancies.
1-Satan tells the same lie to Eve in the garden, that Joseph Smith told to his followers…that you can one day be a God. Joseph Smith states “As man is God once was and as God is man may become.”
2-God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Ghost are not three separate persons. If they were there would be 3 God’s, but the Bible makes it very clear there is but ONE God.
3-God never changes, He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Therefore, the doctrinal changes made by the church are made by man, i.e. renouncing the principal of polygamy (so Utah could gain statehood), blacks being given the priesthood, etc.
4- Masonic symbols on the exterior of the Salt Lake City LSD temple.
5-Joseph Smith could not have seen God the Father, with Jesus, in the forest because God is Spirit. John 1:18, 4:24, 6:46, 1Tim 4:16, 1John 4:12, Col. 1:15.
6- God does not dwell in temples made with hands. Acts 17:24
7-The Mormon church warns the Bible can not be trusted because it may not be interrupted properly. Again, a tool used by satan in the garden, casting doubt. “Did God really say that.”
Please CS, sincerely study these facts and pray that the Lord will open your heart and eyes, and show you truth. You are sincerely loved by God, so much, that He doesn’t want you to be deceived. It is no accident you are reading Z3 and that James posted this podcast and you heard it. God is love and God wants us all to be free, free from temple requirements and man-made laws. Jesus came to set the captives free!
Jesse Slater says
1 – Satan lied by saying that they would not surely die. Of course they would die – but he told the truth when he said they would be as the gods (knowing the difference between good and evil) Satan usually tells half-truths.
2 – Of course God the Father is a separate person than Jesus Christ. He prayed to the Father, he went to the Father, he did nothing save what he saw His Father do. They are one God – but 3 distinct persons. It’s something we don’t comprehend with our mortal minds but the doctrine of oneness is very exciting! I’m really happy to eventually become one with Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father, but I will still be a distinct person.
3 – God never changes. Humans make mistakes. That about sums it up.
4 – If you know anything about the Masons, you’ll know they receive esoteric knowledge from the son of the morning (the light bearer) who has a vast knowledge of godly things that he manipulates and twists to achieve his purposes. The symbols we use are eternal, they did not come from any earthly organization. It makes a lot more sense to think that Lucifer stole those symbols from God, not the other way around.
5 – Do you not believe Christ was resurrected? Thomas touched his hands after his resurrection. We believe whole-heartedly that Christ has a perfected resurrected body of flesh and bone, and that Christ did nothing save what he saw his father do, so we know that God has a body of flesh and bone.
6 – We believe the Bible to be the word of God, as far as it is translated correctly. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the kingdom of God.
Rose says
Sounds like Mormon doctrine. He forgot to add to it the doctrines of Satan and Jesus being brothers, another gospel l the Book of Mormon, becoming angels first and than gods, the Bible as far as it is translated correctly by Joseph Smith. Pro created spirits coming down from another planet. It such a perverted religion.
B.Hansen says
Jesse,
I have two questions for you.
1- Do you believe in the early Mormon teaching, that you can and will one day become a god? I have been told by some lately that this doctrine is no longer taught. I know the LDS church also teaches that a live prophet trumps a dead prophet, hence, the many doctrinal changes over the years. Curious what the current teaching is.
2- What will you do when the Mormon church starts doing same sex marriages in the temple? Will you be fine with that?
Jesse Slater says
I mean yes I do, but it’s so far away from the central doctrine of coming to Christ that most members don’t even know it’s taught. The Holy Bible refers to a counsel of the gods, with a lower-case “g” which is a big hint… I mean think about it guys, do you really think a Father would not want to give his children all that he has, and allow them to become all that he is? We have eternity to learn and grow and become perfect like Jesus Christ himself commanded us to do in the Holy Bible. You don’t think in all that time that we will eventually be able to “grow up” to become like our Father in Heaven? I don’t want to get all political with your second question, and I’m disheartened by Rose’s comment below. There’s just too much hate here. I don’t really want to respond to anything else. God bless you all, I really do love all of you for believing in Christ and trying your best to follow him:) Maybe one day soon we’ll all be able to chat after Christ returns!
James Bailey says
Accusing Christians of being haters is exactly what the world does because the whole world is under the power of the evil one, the spirit of antichrist. They hate us because their hearts are filled with hatred for us, so they accuse us of doing the very thing they are doing. It is complete hypocrisy. Just as Jesus said,
18 If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.
19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.
20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also. (John 15:18-20)
Your accusations of “too much hate here” are false Jesse. Pointing others to the truth of the scriptures is not hatred, it is actually done in love.
It has been an eye opener for me discussing the scriptures with many Mormons over the past couple of weeks because so far I have not found any that respect the authority of the scriptures, which is sad because anyone who refuses to hear the scriptures also refuses to hear me when I quote the scriptures to them. They put the book of Mormon above the Bible, which leads to all sorts of problems.
B.Hansen says
Jesse, I know you would prefer for this conversation not to go on, but the Holy Spirit is prompting me to continue, so if you would just bare with me a bit longer please. The Lord wants you to know the importance of the Armor of God, and the first aspect mentioned is girding your waist with TRUTH. If you are wrong about your thinking, you are severely undermining your defenses against the enemy. You HAVE TO KNOW, that you know TRUTH. You have to dig, and search, and pray, and cry out to God that He will show you the truth. It is just too important to go on with…”oh, it must be true because look at all of the people in my ward that believe it is true. They can’t all be wrong.”
God loves you so much and He wants you to know the truth, because the truth will set you free! I know you don’t feel free now. You are so burdened with church callings and family needs that you feel like you are drowning. Come to God with a sincere and open heart. This all matters, it is eternal life or eternal weeping and gnashing of teeth. If you don’t do it for yourself, do it for your children. God bless.
Rose says
Do Mormons believe in hell? This is from there own website.
Latter-day revelation speaks of hell in at least two senses. First, it is the temporary abode in the spirit world for those who were disobedient in mortality. In this sense, hell has an end. The spirits there will be taught the gospel, and sometime following their repentance they will be resurrected to a degree of glory of which they are worthy. Those who will not repent, but are nevertheless not sons of perdition, will remain in hell throughout the Millennium. After these thousand years of torment, they will be resurrected to a telestial glory (D&C 76:81–86; 88:100–101).
James Bailey says
Thanks for sharing that Rose. It is another example of how Mormons disregard and disrespect the authority of the scriptures, which clearly tell us God’s judgments and the punishment of hell are eternal.
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. (Daniel 12:2)
“Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; (Matthew 25:41)
9 These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,
10 when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed—for our testimony to you was believed. (2 Thessalonians 1:9-10)
1 Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,
2 and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. (Hebrews 6:1-2)
Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire. (Jude 1:7)
And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name. (Revelation 14:11)
B. Hansen says
Rose,
Mormons may say they believe in hell, but the real problem with discussing any doctrine with a Mormon is their terms do not have the same meaning as they would to a bible believing Christian. Hell to a Mormon is not everlasting. You can work your way out. To understand their thinking, keep in mind the term ‘eternal progression’. You can always keep working and making yourself better and higher, hence the thinking that Jesus was a ultra progressed man and that Mormon men will also one day be gods with their own planets to rule over.
The Mormon heaven is made up of 3 sections, or ‘degrees of glory’. Celestial, Terrestrial, and Telestial. Celestial is the highest, and at one point it was taught you MUST live the ‘principal of polygamy’ to reach this highest degree of glory. Not many Mormons want to talk about this fact, but it is a very true part of the history. (Joseph Smith had approx 34-40 wives. If the root is bad, the branch or the fruit is bad too.) I know Mormons try to explain it away as human error, but the true error is following a human. This is Joseph Smith’s religion, not God’s. One of the most harmful teachings is that once you die you can still keep working your way to a higher degree of glory, so if you don’t live a holy and righteous life here on earth you can have a do-over or another chance in heaven to get to a higher degree of glory. This is a very dangerous teaching straight from the pit of hell. Satan would love for everyone to think they get a second chance after death to do it right. As far a grace/salvation is concerned, their ‘plan of salvation’ is, you are saved by grace AFTER EVERYTHING YOU CAN DO. It’s not about Jesus, it’s about you.
Mormon’s need to read their Bibles themselves. Attend a Bible study not put on by the Mormon church. The LDS church has a way of spinning scripture to make it say something it does not. Mormons also need to be aware of the many doctrinal changes the church has made over the years. If God is the same yesterday, today and forever, there should NEVER be changes in doctrine. This is a religion made by a man for the pride of men! Remember we are told to test all things and this religion does not pass the Bible test.
Alan says
I was misled by Jehovah’s Witnesses (JWs) for several years because I did not know my Bible well, and so was wide open to their interpretation of the word. Thankfully God opened my eyes to the falsehood of their teachings and brought me into His Kingdom through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Watchtower Bible & Tract Society (WBTS) has set up a false mediator called the 144,000 (anointed Christians) who alone are born-again, according to WBTS teaching. As such the rank-and-file JW is not able to claim that Jesus Christ is their mediator and can have no relationship with God (Jehovah) apart from thier being associated with the 144,000 through the WBTS. Pray that God will open their eyes as He did mine.

Thousands of Christian denominations are in existence today, each with their own man-made take on the word,Church Of LDS is no exception. The true congregation which Jesus came to gather, has been scattered over the millenia. I pray it may be restored soon by a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
Today, I worry far more about celebrating pagan holidays in lieu of the divine appointments of God, the “once saved, always saved” doctrine, the gospel of grace, without works, (Faith without works is dead.) and the pre-tribulation rapture theory taught to millions worldwide.
Jesus said plainly, “If you love me, keep my commandments,” “Love one another as I have loved you,” and “Occupy until I come.” The truth of the matter is, God will judge our hearts. We are to be one body in Christ, despite our differing doctrines.
James 1:22-27 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way , and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was .
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
Mark 9:38-41 38 And John answered him, saying , Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
39 But Jesus said , Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
40 For he that is not against us is on our part.
41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
James Bailey says
The Church of LDS is not just another denomination. No other denominations have written their own book and put it above the scriptures. No other denominations hold baptisms for the dead and require believers to have an ordained Mormon priest acting as their mediator between them and God, all in direct contradiction of scriptures. The Church of LDS is not from God and does not know the true Jesus Christ, which is why the missionaries who came to my house had no idea what I was talking about when I shared my testimony with them. They had no idea what it meant to be born again, even though they were missionaries. They were confused by the false teachings of the Mormon church. It is a deception from Satan that is leading millions of people into hell.

habits of life, though harmless they seem,

What a Great ” Right Now” word James. Thank you for hearing the Lord and sharing with the Bride. We MUST be able to discern that’s why we must be reading and studying our own Bible and seeking God for ourselves.

Thanks James for the life giving pod cast. I found myself sharing some of the same ideas at my Saturday prayer meeting. Luke 24: 30-32 demonstrate a sure way for us to discern whether Jesus is speaking to us. Those who saw Jesus vanish before there eyes just after their eyes were opened began to consider the activities of the day. They wondered why they hadn’t known it was Jesus earlier and came to one thing they missed earlier, and that is that their hearts burned within them.
I explained to my friends that those sharing God’s word with the nature and spirit of God would set our hearts on fire.
Thanks for being so transparent and real.
Praise the Lord! He gives us heart burn.
James Bailey says
That’s a great scripture to illustrate the point. Thanks Frank.

I am only at min. 23. What has occurred to me is many of us are still operating in the realm of listening to other prophets. Then, there are people who distance themselves from God b/c the prophecy that was spoken over them did not come true. So they will not listen now about the last Days b/c they have been burned before and do not want to be again. Wow Satan is clever isn’t he!!??
Marilee Alm says
We can pray for them!!!

I spent sometime in Tonga on an island where there were four churches you could attend. Catholic, Jehovah witness, Morman and a Baptist one. There was a Morman young man that was my guide. Just before I arrived the LORD had been highlighting to this guide, John 3 and Jesus teaching Nicodemus.
In particular the Holy Spirit was moving on this word for him ‘very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the spirit…you must be born again’.
Further down in John 3 is ‘just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the son of man must be lifted up. At this same time while this guy was grappling with John 3 the sermon that was preached was based on Numbers 21:9. So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived.
The LORDs people are taken captive by all sorts of lies and are found in every denomination. The Apostolic Church of Yahushua HaMashiach is being restored and raised up. Come out my people. You will find him outside the gates. And that is why Jesus suffered outside the city gate, to sanctify the people by his own blood. Hebrew 13:12

No matter what our beliefs are, we are people, and not even 2 people in a marriage can agree on everything. How can we expect to share religious views if we don’t engage a high toleration for people’s perspectives. Criticizing other’s beliefs as ‘wrong’ is similar to going to someone’s house and saying it is ‘wrong’ because yours is different. We all have different childhoods, unique perspectives, and lets enjoy each other for who we are. There is so much to love lets put away right and wrong. Love trumps all of that. It was the highly religious and argumentative believers that were on Jesus’ hypocrite list. What we belief is not so important as how we choose to feel toward people. Are we going to feel God’s love for others, or are we going to sit and criticize others for what they may hold dear in their lives? I grew up Mormon, and while I see it for what it is now, the people in my church are doing their best. They don’t go on missions because they are indoctrinated by fear. They really believe in what they do and are just trying to share that with others.
James Bailey says
If we truly love someone, we will tell them the truth because we don’t want them to spend eternity in hell and we don’t want them to cause other people to spend eternity in hell. There are severe consequences for believing lies.

That is true, James, thank you. Love is nothing without truth. How do you trust your truth? I always feel like I am going crazy because there are so many lies out there to mess us up, I have a hard time trusting myself that I am coming to truthful conclusions myself.
James Bailey says
I shared my views on that in this podcast. We have the scriptures as the plumb line for judging truth from error, but without the Holy Spirit helping us we get into error because we rely on our own understanding, our intellect and reasoning. So we have to train our spirit to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit by practicing discernment (Hebrews 5:14) and by encountering Him daily by entering into His presence. He has promised to guide us into all truth if we follow Him.

We have both JW and mormons come do rounds in our neighborhood quite often -I would talk with them and got quite frustrated at myself for not knowing enough about the differences in what we believe ..I did quite a study on both cults to get down to the bare bones of why they are following false doctrine by straying from the Holy written word in its fullness –I now have printouts that I grab so I can go over and discuss WHY what they follow is indeed error – how their beliefs go against the written word of God -some have listened a little but mostly resistance overall – will listen to podcast next -Thank you James

Great podcast thanks for sharing. My first reaction to their response after you shared with them is that they were falling back on their training after being ambushed so to speak. Just like with weapons training, the point being that you revert to it when you get shocked. I suspect it made a big impact on them.
Amy made a contribution this week and we will make z3 a regular part of our giving. I encourage all who are blessed by James and z3 to sow into this wonderful ministry if you don’t already do so.

HI, I got my first real agnostic sermon this past week. I live in a very church-ed area and many are happy to talk to me. This very nice man told me very plainly that I was a product of my environment and that I really should not believe in God at all. Needless to say we put him on our prayer list for that day.
What is so amazing is he sounded way more sure of what he believed and was not going to hear another word out of me about God. I usually ask God to send people like him dreams so he can be shaken up to realize that God is real and he need to put his faith only in him.
John Barry says
Agnostics are funny Marilee , they are always so sure , they have to be because of their world view . Their fear that they could be wrong causes them to be unwilling to hear any evidence about something they consider only for the weak minded and a crutch / weakness .
Kathleen Nelson says
Marilee
Sometimes there is a deep crooked root that needs careful prayer to maneuver that root out.
Could be hurt
Bitterness
Etc.
Ive seen this before
But with God all things are possible.
Love
John Barry says
Kathleen ( beautiful name ) I have found it is not the hurts but when it turns to bitterness which is also unforgiveness that is so tough to root out . Needs much prayer and fasting to break through . Blessings
Kathleen Nelson says
Thankyou John
And yes it is some tough roots
with Jesus help
It can be done
Marilee Alm says
Still pondering all of this today. I am listening to hymns today and the thought came to me that in church where the music is all picked for us, the Body of Christ is denied free expression as we worship:
What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up. 1 Cor. 14:26
The Spirit is quenched and Satan is controlling the people.
Wonderful moving hymn:
1 God is working his purpose out,
as year succeeds to year,
God is working his purpose out,
and the time is drawing near;
nearer and nearer draws the time,
the time that shall surely be,
when the earth shall be filled with the glory of God
as the waters cover the sea.
2 From utmost east to utmost west,
wherever feet have trod,
by the mouth of many messengers
goes forth the voice of God,
‘Give ear to me, ye continents,
ye isles, give ear to me,
that the earth may be filled with the glory of God
as the waters cover the sea.’
3 What can we do to work God’s work,
to prosper and increase
the love of God in all mankind,
the reign of the Prince of peace?
What can we do to hasten the time,
the time that shall surely be,
when the earth shall be filled with the glory of God
as the waters cover the sea?
4 March we forth in the strength of God,
with the banner of Christ unfurled,
that the light of the glorious gospel of truth
may shine throughout the world;
fight we the fight with sorrow and sin,
to set their captives free,
that the earth may be filled with the glory of God
as the waters cover the sea.
5 All we can do is nothing worth
unless God blesses the deed;
vainly we hope for the harvest-tide
till God gives life to the seed;
yet nearer and nearer draws the time,
the time that shall surely be,
when the earth shall be filled with the glory of God
as the waters cover the sea.

James,
What an awesome testimony. God is awesome and works in wonderful ways. He sent you help for your project and you had the opportunity to witness. Fantastic. I could use some mormons at my house as well.LOL
Seriously though, I would avoid the cults coming to my door. I would not even answer the door. Some christian soldier I was.
One day 2 Jehovahs witness came to my door and I heard in my spirit, “They are here today at your house for a reason, talk to them”.
Well I did not know too much of what they believe, but I know what I believe. The word of God. I prayed before I opened the door and God gave me scriptures and answers and questions that they either had not seen or heard.
We talked for about an hour , I asked them to come back the following week but they never did.
James Bailey says
It’s funny how fast they lose interest when they realize we’re not buying what they’re selling.
scoopie says
Yes, indeed.. well trained. It’s almost impossible to witness to a cult member, cause they have books that give them answers for everything you point out as discrepancy on their part in the Word. Yet, nothing is impossible with God. Pray that the right circumstances are put in their paths, the tweaks that will cause them to think (head and heart), and measure their beliefs with reality.
