It's a simple gear check, what's the refresh rate on your logout macro? Too slow? Get a better computer.
I would guess it scales with cast speed like scorching ray or maybe they just gave it more natural turn speed.
I've fought 3 innocence touched rares and their beams all worked normally, so there's more to the bug than this clearly.

What the fuck haha. That reminds me of the lady of justice boss I fought who degen beamed me and...there's no way to break that beam in the Lake, pillars on the island didn't work.
You can tell the league was extensively tested by the quality of the balance of boss encounters on the lake.
What a coincidence. I got one-shotted by a high difficulty L83 Piety with her red spinning beam, and learnt the hard way that Lake terrain doesn't block ranged attacks.
To be entirely fair her regular fight doesn’t have terrain you can hide behind. Your first instinct should have been to run in circles around her.
I don't know, seeing terrain that I should be able to physically hide behind might take precedence as a reaction over the original arena.
Maybe if you aren’t used to the boss, but running in circles takes precedence when you have to kill that boss on every character you make at least once for years.
Especially when said terrain is blocking YOUR attacks and spells. Absolute troll Arena
Same, and her beam even goes into the next tile PLUS you cannot hide behind the cosmetic walls on the tiles! Absolutely crazy overtuned if you cannot kill her in 2 seconds with 30mil Dps.
I just decided to not get any boss encounters after difficulty 7. Specially with this zdps machine I've got there
Yeah, I'm increasingly opting-out of more difficult islands in Lake because opting-in to them doesn't seem to also be opting-in for improved rewards. So you're just increasing your risk off dying and losing XP for little to nothing in return. I already eat random RIP's in maps that cause me to lose an hour or two of mapping at 93, I don't need to make that problem even worse in lakes where I can at least choose the less-RIPpy option.
Yeah, I mostly do the lakes for the chance at a nice ring/ammy from the mirror, I've got a few divines from chests, but thats it. I just do it for the possibility of getting a cool item from the mirror. I'm trying to do all challenges too.
This is basically the only reason I bother as well. Still haven't found anything remotely decent (got a double mirror once which was exciting!) but I figure I may as well at least clear them out for the chance at a good ring to sell or keep for an alt (that I have no plans for atm)/use on standard.
How does it take 1 hour for 10% xp at 93? It's legit 4 blue t16 maps for 10% of a bar at 93.
Cus when he dies he must rush to reddit to tell everyone that he died because game bad (not his own fault, never). This costs some time, typing the perfect post and chosing his words carefully for maximum attention

How far away? Because IIRC you can't outrange it in the actual boss arena and that's fairly large. You'd have to at least get all the way to the middle of the previous island to get that kind of distance >.>
You can outrange it in her own arena even if she's in the middle. It's ~ 3/4 of the way to the wall from there. (It's just always way easier to break with a pillar in there)
She'd be so lethal when you put her in Maven invitations if you needed a pillar.
I am somewhat uncertain if AoE increases the length of the tether though.
They're talking about outranging the innocence beam, not the lady of justice drain.
Unless there are map mods that scale it, I’ve always been able to outrange it. Line of sighting it is probably easier in her arena but yeah you can just run away. Look at the circle under you, it’ll get smaller the further you get away
The circle that the beam creates around your feet shrinks as you run away, giving an indicator of how close you are to outranging it... I had both gardens and orchard version in the same Maven invitation the other day or I would never have noticed. It feels like it would be tricky to escape in the lake though, might have to move to the next tile and the pathing can be awkward.
Laboratory boss also real, real shitty in the lake with his off-brand sirus storm forcing you to go twiddle your thumbs every few seconds if you don't have the dps to take him down in one rotation.
I feel dumb because I've only ever outranged it in the actual boss fight - I didn't realize you were supposed to just cut it off, haha
I got a tile with a over-buffed Kadaris (crimson township). Kadaris split himself into 8 different clones, and ended up making the entire tile into a death zone I couldn't get near to take out one of them.
the regular fight against him always seemed the same way to me on low DPS chars. he kinda is a kill fast or die boss. there are a few bosses that just do unholy amounts of damage if you can't stop them fast.
This is bizarre. I imagine they would have had the same issue with boss encounters in mavens crucible and fixed it for the versions there.
They had a fun throw-away league a while back that added random bosses to each area in the campaign. They used the versions from the maven (would be pretty funny to have a massive Kitava crawling around).

I'll ask here as well, how far? I've never seen it break via distance and have only ever broken it by LoSing the boss (similar to the giant squid boss and his degen beam)

Huh, well TIL. Never actually seen that mechanic play out like that and always just used the pillars in her boss room to LoS the beam.
Does the beam have infinite range? Can't you just get out of it's range?

Maven arena is large enough to break the tether. Pro tip: don't have Maven witness lady of justice and nightmare Piety for the same invite, or Piety might spin to win right as the lady starts draining you, and that is very difficult to survive.
You break it by moving away. Not too far either - if theyre in the middle of their island youd need to go to around where an exit path is
It is highly likely that any map boss outside of its arena is the Maven Invitation / Ritual variation: That version of the Goddess has a limited range on her beam. It should also have a tell: The larger the distance, the smaller the burning AoE under the player's feet.
My first encounter with a boss in the lake was the totem guy from act 6, it just kept respawning the fire totem in the middle over and over and each time it would auto lock and ignite the fuck out of you with no counter play. I swear they just make the bosses annoying on purpose in the lake.
Weirdly the time I fought that boss I could break the beam, so maybe it's just jank. Probably jank.
Every time I do that boss I forget to not have maven witness it. You can get out of range in her arena but only if the boss is towards the edge.

do you not have 90% all res and 50% life per second regeneration on top of your 50k armor, 50k evasion, 90% phys reduction, 100% spell supp, 75/75 true non GB block, crit + ailment immunity, 6k life, 3k ES, 24% life on kill, multiple damage x taken as y conversions, aegis aurora, and 50M screenwide dps for the uber pinnacle bosses?
if not, then game is fine and it's your fault, because it's balanced around people who find 50 divines every second map
