Some are Roblox specific, and some are used broadly on the internet but are commonly seen on the platform.     • Definition:
      • Emoticon that's meant to represent a person crying. Not a super intense cry, more of a defeated one.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Hey, do you want to play Tower of Hell?"
        Person 2: "That game haunts my nightmares ;-;."
  •  :3
    • Definition:
      • Emoticon that's meant to represent a cute cat face, typically used in replace of just a normal smiley face when happy, or at the end of a question, sort of like the puppy-dog eyes effect.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Heyyy, would you want to go play Fashion Famous? :3"
      • Person 2: "Ugh....ok."
      • Person 1: ":333"

    • Definition:
      • Emoticon that's meant to represent a person blushing, typically used when giving or receiving compliments or in awkward situations.
    • Example:
      • "Your avatar is really cute @///@"
  • XD, xD, or xd
    • Definition:
      • Emoticon that's meant to represent a person laughing or being excited, typically used after a joke has been said, similar to the laughing emoji.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "What did one noob say to the other?"
      • Person 2: "Idk, what?"
      • Person 1: "Idk, I was hoping you knew."
      • Person 2: "...that was such a dumb joke xD."
  • 1v1
    • Definition:
      • Refers to playing/fighting one-on-one. Could be used seriously in battle games or jokingly/rudely in casual settings. In non-game applications, it is used as a general challenge to another.
    • Example:
      • "Why don't you 1v1 me then bro?"
  • 13
    • Definition:
      • Used seldomley, but is a reference to the 13+ age requirement to be a member on Roblox. May be used to insult someone acting childish and under the age of 13.
    • Example:
      • "Bruh, 13 moment."

A

  • ABC
    • Definition:
      • Commonly seen in role play games, this phrase is typically used to initiate or accept a role play request. Those wanting to role play will type "ABC" along with their request in the Roblox chat box, and interested players will respond with the same phrase.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "ABC to role play as siblings"
      • Person 2: "ABC me"
  • A/C
    • Definintion:
      • Means Accept or Counter, a phrase used when trading with another player.
    • Example:
      • "Let me know if you want to a/c."
  • A/D
    • Definition:
      • Means Accept or Decline, a phrase used when trading with another player.
    • Example:
      • "Not interested in counter offers, a/d only."
  • AFK
    • Definition:
      • Indicates that someone is Away From Keyboard, meaning they're temporarily unable to play or respond.
    • Example:
      • "AFK one sec."
  • AA
    • Definition:
      • Refers to claims of Admin Abuse, which is an overuse of power. Experiences that allow admins or other player power may apply here.
    • Example:
      • "AA is so annoying bro like just stop."
  • AOS
    • Definition:
      • Short for Arrest on Sight, this phrase is used in roleplaying games that have police and/or prisoners. 
    • Example:
      • "If you see the suspect AOS!"

B

  • B)
    • Defintion:
      • Emoticon depicting a smiling person wearing sunglasses. May be used for bragging or just as a silly response.
    • Example:
      • "My mom's buying me a $50 Robux gift card for my birthday B)"
  • Banned Forever
    • Definition:
      • A phrase that notes someone was not just banned from an individual experience, but that their entire account was banned.
    • Example:
      • "Did you hear that Mark was banned forever? He must've done something pretty bad.."
  • Based
    • Definition:
      • A way of saying a statement/opinion is worthy or praise, or that they heavily agree with a message.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Blox Fruits is overrated, there's so many better anime games on Roblox." Person 2: "Based."
  • BB
    • Definition:
      • Short for "baby," usually used in an endearing, passive aggressive, or joking manner.
    • Example:
      • "LOL you're looking a little rough bb" 
  • BBG
    • Definition:
      • Short for "baby girl," usually used in a taunting way by malicious or joking players. 
    • Example:
      • "Whattup BBG where you goin?"
  • Beaming/Beamed
    • Definition:
      • Used when a player is getting killed by the same enemy player or team repeatedly, or, when a player is repeatedly killing the same enemy player or team.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Dude, he's just beaming me over and over!!"
      • Person 2: "LOL I'm beaming tf out of this kid right now."
  • Beaned
    • Definition:
      • Means the same as "banned," just said in a different way for humor or added effect. May refer to being banned from specific games, not Roblox entirely.
    • Exampled:
      • "We can't play MM2 anymore, Alex got beaned, LOL."
  • Bloxxed
    • Definition:
      • Refers to a player being killed or defeated in Roblox. In many games, players fall into block pieces when they die.
    • Example:
      • "My man was straight bloxxed."
  • Boosted Ape
    • Definition:
      • Used maliciously and implies artificial success; the idea that a player is only so high up in levels/points because their friends help boost them there.
    • Example:
      • "Whatever, you're just a boosted ape anyway."
  • BRB
    • Definition:
      • Short for "Be Right Back", Similar to AFK, this phrase is said when a player is stepping away from the game, but it's typically for a shorter period of time.
    • Example:
      • "Brb, my mom's calling me."
  • Bruh
    • Definition:
      • A more versatile form of "brother" or "bro" that can be a sign of disbelief, a reaction to hearing something funny, a dismissive statement, or even a filler phrase. Comes from a meme outside of Roblox.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "I forgot to do my math homework, so I gotta get off early. Sorry bro."
      • Person 2: "Bruh."
  • BTW
    • Definition:
      • Short for "by the way," this phrase is typically placed at the very beginning or end of an informative (or opinionated, depending on the context )sentence.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Ryan said you smell like beans, btw."
      • Person 2: "...ok?"
  • Bypass
    • Definition:
      • Refers to any mode of getting around Roblox terms of service and guidelines. This can be chat phrases, Avatar Shop listings, song ID codes, etc.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "How did you get that shirt??"
      • Person 2: "I was looking through bypassed clothing."

C

  • Comped
    • Definition:
      • Short for compromised, this phrase is another way of saying a Roblox account was hacked
    • Example:
      • "Yeah dude, my account was comped last night so I can't play."
  • Copypaste
    • Definition:
      • In Roblox terms, this is a dismissive description used to describe a player who others believe has an uninspired or "common" avatar.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Rate my avatar!"
      • Person 2: "Uhh, ngl, it's pretty copypaste."
  • Cord
    • Definition:
      • Short for Discord, this word is used when referring to the social media platform as Roblox doesn't allow users to type its name.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Where do you find out about all of these codes?"
      • Person 2: "The cord, the devs post them in there."

  • DCUA
    • Definition:
      • Stands for "Don’t Call Us Angels," which is a Roblox group that creates adult/mature outfits and uploads them to the Avatar Shop. DCUA is often put in the description or title of shirts and pants that have some form of detail that Roblox would find inappropriate.
    • Example:
      • "Girl, you gotta put dcua before what you search, it's what gets the best stuff!"
  • DD
    • Definiton:
      • Used in military role plays to mean Dishonorably Discharged. Can be used seriously or for humor.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Bruh did Michael just lag out? LOL"
      • Person 2: "DD."
  • DM
    • Defintion:
      • Short for "direct message," this phrase can be used as an observation or a request for a player to message them privately using Roblox's chat feature.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "You're cool, wanna play ToH?"
      • Person 2: "Yah, dm me."
  • Discard/Disco
    • Definition:
      • Same as "cord," Roblox doesn't allow "Discord" to be used in chat, so players will type variations of the name to indicate they're talking about the social media app.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "We should play sometime. Do you have disco?"
  • Dog Water
    • Defintition:
      • An insult on another's players gaming performance, means the worst of the worst.
    • Example:
      • "He's literally dog water I'm pushing him."

  • E
    • Definition:
      • May refer to an outdated meme that is surrealist and has no real meaning. Can also be referring how many Roblox games use the E key for interactions.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "What the dog doin?"
      • Person 2: "E."
  • Easy/EZ
    • Definition:
      • Typically used in a braggadocios or condescending way at the end of a round, fight, etc. by someone on the winning team or the winning player. Basically means "I didn't even break a sweat to beat you," "You're significantly worse than me at the game and it showed," "I wasn't even worried for a second," or all of the above.
    • Example:
      • "GG EZ."

F

  • Fat Legs
    • Definition:
      • Refers to a type of avatar build where a woman torso and default legs are used. Usually derogatory in nature, as many feel the avatar type is ugly.
    • Example:
      • "Not you literally having a fat leg avi unironically LOL."
  • FFA
    • Definition:
      • Short for "free-for-all," this acronym describes a game or match that's absent of rules; usually used in battle games.
    • Example:
      • "Everyone vote ffa, it's more fun."
  • Filterpass
    • Definition:
      • Refers to someone getting around chat filters in an experience
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "How do you filterpass so much?"
      • Person 2: "Idk, I just change the words slightly."
  • FW
    • Definition:
      • Short for "f*** with," this is typically said when referencing someone who's cool or a friend, or, it can be said in the opposite tone to reference someone you don't like.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Do ya'll fw Grace?"
      • Person 2: "Yeah, I fw Grace, she cool."
      • Person 3: "Nah, she's a lame, I don't fw her."

  • G2G/GTG
    • Definition:
      • Short for "got to go," used in chat when someone wants to let other players know they have to leave the experience or go offline completely.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "I gtg, play again tomorrow?"
      • Person 2: "Duh!"
  • Get Noobed
    • Definition:
      • Similar to "EZ" or "dog water," this taunt is used when a player wins a match, round, game, etc., and means the other play was playing so badly, they seemed like a noob.
    • Example:
      • "LOL get absolutely noobed my guy."
  • GG
    • Definition:
      • Short for "good game," can be congratulatory to teammates or braggadocious to enemies.
    •  Example:
      • Person 1: "ggs."
      • Person 2: "gg ez."
  • Git Gud
    • Definition:
      • A version of the phrase "get good," this is used similarly to "ez" after a team or individual wins a match, round, game, etc., as a way to insult the other players, who are perceived to be performing poorly.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "You're just sitting there camping, I can't even leave my spawn!"
      • Person 2: "Git gud I guess."
  • Go Commit/Go Commit Die
    • Definition:
      • Another way to say "go k*ll yourself," this phrase references an older meme, but is also used to seriously suggest that players commit suicide. Used by malicious players, usually. 
    • Example:
      • "Shut up and go commit already."

  • H4x/Hax
    • Definition:
      • Another way to say "hacks," typically used when a player is a little too good, and they might be cheating.
    • Example:
      • "Bruh there's no way, that's literally hax."

  • IG
    • Definition:
      • Short for "I guess."
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Wanna go play Sharkbite or something?"
      • Person 2: "ig."
  • ISTG
    • Definition:
      • Short for "I Swear to God," this phrase is typically used in frustration, especially at another player.
    • Example:
      • "i stg bruh this kid gonna make me commit."
  • IRL
    • Definition:
      • Short for "in real life"
    • Example:
      • "I'm like 6'3 irl just to lyk."

  • JK/JS
    • Definition:
      • Short for "just kidding" or "just saying," a way for players to take weight off of a previous statement.
    • Example:
      • *Playing Ugly Granmda*
      • Person 1: "Omg I didn't know they based a character in this game off of you!"
      • Person 2: "...."
      • Person 1: "LOL jkjkjk."

K

  • KO
    • Definition:
      • Short for "knock out," this acronym is used mostly in fighting experiences, and indicates a player has defeated a boss or enemy player.
    • Example:
      • "KO, sorry 'boutcha."
  • KS
    • Definition:
      • Means "kiss," which is blocked by Roblox filters. Typically used in role play scenarios or between friends.
    • Example:
      • *Two players role playing in Brookhaven*
      • Player 1: "Bye honey, have a good day at work, see you when you get home! KS"
      • Player 2: "Bye sweet! KS"

  • LMAD
    • Definition:
      • Short for "let's make a deal," this phrase is said by a player who wants to initiate a trade.
    • Example:
      • "I like your Huge Dragon, lmad?"
  • LV
    • Definition:
      • Could mean two things: 1) a way to bypass filters and say "love" or 2) someone indicating a Level Up in the game.
    • Example:
      • 1) "Omg girl I lv u"
      • 2) "I'm lv 98, what about you?"
  • LVL
    • Definition:
      • Short for "level"
    • Example:
      • "What lvl are you? I'm 55."

M

  • Mic-Up
    • Definition:
      • Used as a way to challenge another player, meaning the one who said it wants the other player to turn on voice chat and argue.
    • Example:
      • "Mic-up then kid, mic-up!"
  • Most/Doing the Most
    • Definition:
      • Means a player is trying too hard, being too loud, or taking things too seriously, usually said as a criticism.
    • Example:
      • "You're literally doing the most rn, and for what?"
  • Mwa
    • Definition:
      • A different spelling of "muah," the kissing sound, used to bypass filters, but is still detected sometimes.
    • Example:
      • "Byeeee, ttyl, mwa!"

N

  • N00b/Newb/Noob/Noobie
    • Definition:
      • A version of the word "new," refers to a new player, usually as a way to point out their lack of expertise or skill.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Look at that kid's avatar over there, lol, what a noob."
      • Person 2: "Hey, we all looked like that when we started!"
  • NFT
    • Definition:
      • May refer to "non-fungible tokens," but more likely means that something is "not for trade."
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Omg, your Huge Dragon is so sick, what do you want for it?"
      • Person 2: "Sorry, it's nft."
  • NGF
    • Definition:
      • Stands for "not going first" in trading, usually insinuates a sign of distrust. 
  • No you/No u
    • Definition:
      • Refers to an outdated meme, usually, and is a way to joke with or taunt other players. Many view this as a childish phrase.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Dude you're being such a loser rn, stop spawn camping and just play the game."
      • Person 2: "No u."

  • Obby
    • Definition:
      • Short for "obstacle course." Is also a genre of experiences on Roblox where the entire point/goal is to run, jump, and climb through an obstacle course.
    • Example:
      • "I'm so good at obbies, let's go."
  • OOC
    • Definition:
      • Short for "out of character," this role-playing-related phrase is used as a heads up to other players that the next message that's going to be sent is not related to the current role play, and is going to be about something outside of role playing.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "OOC."
      • Person 2: "OOC."
      • Person 1: "My mom says I have to get off in 10 minutes."
  • Oof
    • Definition:
      • Refers to the sound bite that used to play when Roblox players died in an experience. Though this sound bite has since been changed, it's still beloved within and associated with the Roblox community. In text or speech, it's used when something has gone wrong, a player has done poorly, something seems painful, something is embarrassing, etc.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Bruh, I just died and had to restart the entire level."
      • Person 2: "Oof."
  • OP
    • Definition:
      • Short for "overpowered," means an ability, weapon, hack, or method is unbelievably strong.
    • Example:
      • "This gun is so op it's crazy."
  • Owned/Pwned
    • Definition:
      • A taunt used when a player defeats another player seemingly handedly, with little effort.
    • Example:
      • "OMG you just owned him!!"

  • P2W
    • Definition:
      • Short for "pay to win." Can be an objective statement or a criticism of an experience that requires payments to be a successful/good player, or highly encourages them.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "I'm gonna hop in Pet Sim X, you wanna join?"
      • Person 2: "Nah, I don't play that anymore, it's so p2w it's stupid."
  • PM
    • Definition:
      • Short for "private message," similar to DM, this acronym is used when referring to a private message or requesting one.

  • QDer
    • Definition:
      • Because Roblox blocked the phrase "ODer," which stood for "online dater," players came up with this new acronym that means the same thing, but won't be caught by Roblox's ToS.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Did you see that Sofie met a guy in Livetopia and now they're dating?"
      • Person 2: "Bruh, qding is so dumb to me."

R

  • Rage quit
    • Definition:
      • Used when someone gets so angry and upset at an experience that they leave.
    • Example:
      • "No way he actually just rage quit, lololol."
  • RAP
    • Definition:
      • Stands for "recent average price," which refers to the perceived value of an item or trade that the community has given. 
    • Example:
      • "Geez, the RAP on that halo is crazy!!"
  • RDM
    • Definition:
      • Stands for "random death match," which is seen primarily in fighting experiences.
    • Example:
      • "Who wants an rdm? I'm ready!" 
  • REEEE
    • Definition:
      • A mocking term to imply someone is overreacting, and that the person being made fun of is making a scream of anger in a childish way.
    • Example:
      • "Omg she's gonna be so mad lol REEEEE XD"
  • Rekt
    • Definition:
      • Another way to say "wrecked," similar to owned, this phrase can be used when a player defeats another player seemingly handedly, with little effort. In other cases, this phrase can be used similarly to "bruh" as an aloof reaction to unfortunate news.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "I can't play tonight guys, I have to babysit my little brother."
      • Person 2: "Get rekt."
  • RN
    • Definition:
      • Short for "right now."
    • Example:
      • "I can't play rn I gotta eat dinner."

  • Salad Hair
    • Definition:
      • An insulting way to describe the way the Holiday Crown head accessory looks on avatars. 
    • Example:
      • "Not the salad hair joining in, lol."
  • Slender
    • Definition:
      • Used to describe a certain type of avatar aesthetic, this phrase refers to avatars that have increased height and little width, making them look visibly slender, and typically have an alternative or "emo" style. The term is often used in a negative light, as slenders are often seen as "cringey, un-funny, e-daters."
    • Example:
      • "I can't even play Da Hood anymore bro, it's just full of cringey slenders."

  • Tags
    • Definition:
      • Short for "hashtags," this term is used as a response when someone sends a message that's been flagged by Roblox's chat filters. When someone says "tags," they're indicating that the other person's message couldn't be seen and needs to be rephrased.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Dude, I get so ###### when kids just camp like that."
      • Person 2: "Tags."
      • Person 3: "Oh, my b, I get so mad when kids just camp like that."
  • TBH
    • Definition:
      • Short for "to be honest."
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "You wanna go play Jailbreak?"
      • Person 2: "Nah, Jailbreak is kinda boring to me tbh."
  • TDM
    • Definition:
      • Short for "team death match," this is a team-based game mode found in many fighting and shooting games and experiences. 
  • TH
    • Definition:
      • Short for "what the hell," this phrased is used to show disbelief or questioning.
    • Example:
      • "th is wrong with my game rn??"
  • Th/Thx/TY/TYSM/TA
    • Definition:
      • Short for "thanks," "thank you," "thank you so much," or "thanks a lot."
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Omg your avatar is so adorbs I'm obsessed."
      • Person 2: "Omg tysm!! So is yours!"
  • Troll
    • Definition:
      • Used to describe a malicious and/or mischievous player who tries to anger other users on purpose with their words or actions. These types of players find it funny to upset others.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Dude just stop!! It's not funny and I'm going to report you!"
      • Person 2: "They're trying to make you mad on purpose, they're a troll, just ignore them."

  • UUC
    • Definition:
      • Short for "Uniform Commercial Code," this acronym typically typically refers to the laws and regulations that surround real-life trading, shipping, purchasing etc. In Roblox, this acronym refers to a method of trade scamming that causes the transaction to seem legitimate at first, only to get stuck loading.
    • Example:
      • "Don't trade with them dude, they're known for UUC."

  • Void/Voided
    • Definition:
      • Used in role play situations to let someone know they will not role play with them any longer, usually because they are acting inappropriately or out of line.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "You used to play with Ryland all the time, what happened?"
      • Person 2: "Yeah...he started being really weird so I voided him."
      • Person 1: "Oh, yeah that's totally fair!"

  • W8
    • Definition:
      • Short for "wait," may be used to type quickly if someone is about to go offline.
    • Example:
      • "W8, one second!" 
  • WaaPP
    • Definition:
      • Short for "Work at a Pizza Place," a popular Roblox experience.
    • Example:
      •  Person 1: "Do you want to go play waapp?"
      • Person 2: "Sure, let's go!"

  • YR
    • Defintition:
      • Short for "you're right," usually used as a quick acknowledgement, especially after a disagreement.
    • Example:
      • "Yeah, actually yr, that's way stronger."

  • Zzzz
    • Definition:
      • Meant to represent snoring, this phrase means the player finds either the conversation or experience boring.
    • Example:
      • Person 1: "Anyone want to play Bloxburg?"
      • Person 2: "Zzzzz..."
