What are some examples of narrative writing?

Narrative writing is telling a story. This includes a character, setting and what they’re doing, or, Who, What, Where, When, Why. When teaching this form of writing to children, it can help to have a WAGOLL. (What a good one looks like) Below are some famous examples of narrative writing.

The three little pigs. - This follows the three pigs (Who) as they build their houses (what)

Little red riding hood. - Follows Little red riding hood (who) as she walks through the woods to her grandmother’s house (where)

Lots of fairy tales are narratives, with the plot typically begining with "Once upon a time ..." and ending with "happily ever after."
