The budding family of Good Bones star Mina Starsiak Hawk is growing as fast as Mina and Karen E. Laine's home renovation business, and it's time to talk about Mina's daughter. The HGTV show stars Mina and her mom Karen. In September 2020, Mina’s husband Stephen Hawk announced that Mina gave birth to Charlotte "Charlie" Drew Hawk, after struggling to conceive.

Charlie (delivered via C-section at 10:14 am on September 16, 2020) was born at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Good Bones star Mina's family grew when Charlie joined her brother, Jack Richard, who is two years older. At birth, Charlie weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and was 18.5 inches long. Her arrival was seemingly right on cue. Two days after her birth, her mom and grandmother’s network, HGTV, registered impressive ratings for their series. In season 5, Good Bones' Mina Starsiak Hawk and her costars really entertained. The show got the network's highest-ever ratings for its 25 to 54-year-old demographic.

Mina’s new baby journey did not come easy. Indy Star reported that Mina, who had secondary infertility problems, was intensely disappointed after in-vitro fertilization (IVF) and other fertility treatments didn't lead to pregnancy. In the spring of 2020, she admitted that she had a one percent chance of getting pregnant again with baby number two. Her initial IVF failed, as the embryo didn't grow after it was fertilized. Because that embryo wasn't viable, the doctors did not transfer it for implantation. However, when the door closed on in-vitro, another opportunity arose. It was a special moment when Charlie’s conception was sparked by a fertility treatment called intrauterine insemination (IUI).

The quick IUI success was a surprise to Mina and her family. She told People that, after all the fertility treatments, she was emotionally prepared to stop trying entirely. "We wanted to try one more time. And then I think we both would have been okay and settled with being done, but the one more time worked." She also added that she couldn’t imagine the struggles of hopeful parents who endure fertility treatments year after year. On Charlie's first birthday, Mina posted on Instagram, calling her, "wild and sweet and funny" and writing, "She was a struggle and there were days I wanted to give up. She’s exactly what our world needed." Anyone can follow along with baby Charlie on Mina's social media, as she has posted many adorable photos of her family.

Good Bones star Mina faced business challenges, and it's easy to appreciate the fact that she's honest about the problems in her personal life as well. As Mina's children have grown, she's shared more updates on their lives. Mina's made it clear that she's happier than ever with her family, including her husband, Stephen. It's great to see Mina and her family doing well, and her posts are always inspiring.
