Orange Livebox and Phone

Hi, we have a livebox from orange, the phone line at the house has one of the modern connectors not the large french style connectors so we had to plug the phone into the back of the livebox and plug the livebox into the phone socket. Can anyone tell me if this is the right thing to do because our phone seems not to take messages. Phone is a standard analogue phone. We do not have an ADSL filter (micro filter) because although they were included by orange they were for the older french style phone sockets.

My Livebox and phone are set up lIke yours and the Orange messaging service records messages. Go online to your customer account to see if the service is switched on.
Thanks chèvrefeuille i'll have a fiddle about, we were expecting the phone itself to record the messages.
You need to set your home phone to cut in before the orange answer phone ..You could adjust the number of rings on the Orange answer phone but you cannot do this any more, so your home phone needs to come in after 4 rings ( Think )
