BIABWC provides food to elementary school children who are food insecure. Since 2017, Hausmann-Johnson Insurance has supported BIABWC by volunteering their time with the organization by serving on the Board of Directors, coordinating fundraisers and participating in bag filling events to provide food to kids.

Throughout 2020,BIABWC faced various challenges from supply chain issues and canceling local bag fill events. Hausmann-Johnson Insurance supported BIABWC by shifting to ‘at-home bag fills’ to ensure children had meals over summer break.

It costs $4 a week to feed a child through the BIABWC program so the $10,000 donation will allow the organization to provide over 2,500 hunger-free weekends to children located throughout Waukesha County, the release said.

Beginning Wednesday, April 14, the story of Hausmann-Johnson Insurance and BIABWC will be featured on the official Make More Happen microsite www.agentgiving.com/Hausmann-Johnson-Insurance allowing the nonprofit a chance to earn the additional $5,000. If the featured story receives at least 500 votes— shares to social media and comments on their story—the donation will be doubled to $10,000, the release said.

Throughout 2021, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select a total of 34 independent agents nationwide for a Make More Happen Award donating up to $340,000 to the nonprofits they support.

Agencies became eligible for the award by submitting an application demonstrating their commitment to a specific nonprofit, along with photos of a project they worked on.
