Me and my family visited the longboat and sword a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty cool. The sword in particular is impressive due to the size and detail of the carvings.
The longboat is cool too, but it's ultimately a replica so there's only a certain level of amazement to be found with it.
Worth a visit

The Viking sword has to be seen to be believes, a fallen Douglas fir carved to tell the story of Waterford. Spoiler, if you cannot figure it all out there is an explainer on the adjoining wall.

Ran across this on our walk back to the car. Was as a fun stop. No one around so got some good pictures. Does not take up more than 5 mins.

A 50' ((?) long "sword" carved from a tree, showing the history of Waterford in its carvings. Not some stupid chainsaw carving; this is fascinating. Explained nearby.

This is the most amazing sword and history of the Viking people. It is carved out off 1 tree. Worth stopping. This carving has such amazing detail.

It's been a long time since I've seen a sculpture or any form of statuary as impressive. The viking sword is carved out of one single tree and is amazing in its intricacy and detail. It must be about 15 or 20 meyres long! You could look at it for ages as all the carvings have significance in Waterfords history. A display board to the side tells you of the details. Its beside the King of the Vikings exhibit to the side of the Treasures Museum.
A must see if you are in the city, you won't see its like anywhere else, that's for sure!
