Ben Affleck did ex-flame Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez's 10-day no-sugar, no-carb challenge and then binged on bagels
Ben Affleck recently put himself through a brutal no-carb, no-sugar cleanse that was popularized by his ex-love Jennifer Lopez.
The 46-year-old shared his struggle through the restrictive 10-day diet while promoting his new Netflix film, Triple Frontier, Monday on the Today Show.
Both Lopez, 49, and her beau Alex Rodriguez, 43, completed the challenge at the end of January, after which they treated themselves to a massive feast.

Sitting down with Hoda Kotb and his Triple Frontier co-star Charlie Hunnam, Affleck opened up about his recent diet after the Today host told him he looked great.
'I hate to be shallow about it but I just did the A Rod 10-day challenge,' the Oscar winner quipped.
Noticeably did not mention the name of his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez, who led the charge with the challenge with A Rod.
Ben joked that he had learned about the strict diet which bans carbohydrates, dairy, sugar and caffeine for 10 days from watching Today.

'I saw Carson Daly bombed out after a day and a half,' Ben razzed from his chair.
Adding: 'It's not easy, I will admit.'
When Jenny from the Block completed the challenge, she told fans that she and Alex 'struggled through.'
But, she also admitted that after feasting on chicken wings and pizza, they were likely to go back on the stringent routine.

During her first 10-day challenged, she even encouraged a number of her friends to join such as Leah Remini, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, the president of her production company, Nuyorican, and Hoda.
Affleck and Lopez dated from 2002-2004 after meeting on the set of Gigli and later planned to marry.
The pair, dubbed Beniffer by the media, are said to have called off their nuptials due to the extreme public attention focused on the relationship.

While the duo have remained amicable, it was ironic that Ben called Jennifer's extreme diet the 'A Rod 10-day challenge.'
'It's awful for the first couple of days because I'm definitely someone who likes bread and sugar,' Affleck said on Today.
He admitted that he cheated 'a bit' when it came to caffeine.
Ben has been known to indulge in unhealthy eats like fast food and has been looking slimmer and trimmer since leaving rehab.

Shortly before checking into rehab last summer, he was spotted several times at the drive-thru and even had a greasy meal in the car on the way to the facility.
By the time the 10 days were over, the Argo director said he felt 'good' but then rewarded himself for a job well done with 'three bagels.'
Speaking with Extra earlier on the red carpet for his new film admitted that 'it was harder than you think it would be for just 10 days'
