Reed's Family Outdoor Outfitters is one of the oldest, most renown outdoor outfitters in the nation. Family owned, customer driven for 50 years. We offer complete hunting, fishing and apparel departments. Reeds is tucked away in the quaint Northwoods community of Walker, Minnesota, on the shores of one of America's top walleye lakes, Beautiful Leech Lake.

No matter which department you are shopping, the staff at Reed’s knows their stuff. You have a hard time finding a place like that these days! And a shot out to the gun department too!!!

A group of us visited from Nebraska and Iowa . This non chain store was just as good and priced competitively with large chain stores. If it rains during your vacation it’s a good way to kill a few hours.

First, if it exists for an outdoor activity this place will have it. Incredible inventory. Plenty of sales people so you aren’t waiting long for assistance. And the staff is friendly and well trained. But two concerns (1). It is open on what I consider a limited basis. The hours on the door said 10-5 if I recall correctly. What? The only sporting goods shop in a vacation area and no evening hours? And (2). The merchandise is priced to really make a profit. I’d check on line to see what type of premium you might’ve paying on many items before making anything but an absolutely required purchase. My boat shoes fell apart so had to get some. I paid about $20 more as compared to waiting until I got home and ordering on line.

We’re from out of town, my husband has heard really good things about Reeds but not been there. Pleasantly surprised to discover very interesting merch, friendly helpful employees. Found a great pair of shoes. Really great beef jerky too! We’ll stop again. Thanks.

This was out first trip to Reeds. While up north for an outdoors weekend at Leech Lake we discovered our son had left his jeans back home. Consequently, we had to make the trip into Walker and ended up at this wonderful treasure trove of hunting, fishing and hiking gear.
Was surprised and the extensive selection and reasonable prices. Would have liked to see a few more smaller men's sizes, but it was the end of season for the warm weather pants we needed. Columbia, the North Face, Carhartt and other top quality brands were standard choices available here. Was impressed at the fairly large women's selections. We found two well-priced hunting pants for our son and left happy.
I understand there is also an online presence for upcoming holiday shopping, so I am sure we will soon be buying more from Reed's.

My family has been visiting the Walker area for over 40 years, and Reeds has always been a destination for us. I found an old fishing license in my dad's tackle box, signed by owner Jeff Arnold in 1991. :-) That's tradition! During this year's week long stay, we were probably in Reeds at least 4 times, and we always managed to find the thing we were looking for ... from water-friendly sandals to carabiners to fishing gear to, of course, the lure du jour (the fish definitely had favorites this week, so we kept coming back for more!). The guys also spent much of the week admiring the impressive array of kayaks, and checking out all the gear inside that could go with the kayaks they wished they were buying. :-) (maybe next year!!)
Even better than always finding the right item were the people who served us. So nice, so helpful and friendly! That sweet blonde gal at the checkout must have served us at least 3 different times, and she remembered us on each return trip. That alone made me want to keep going back!
I know another long-timer posted a review about Reeds losing its unique flavor. I was always so excited to look at the fish in the window all those years ago! I also know that times do change, even in Walker, and I am okay with that. Especially when the personal, friendly service continues to be the hallmark of the business.
We are already counting down to our next trip to the area, and you can bet we will be back at Reeds! It is ALWAYS a destination for us!

If you are looking for something they have it or they will get it if possible. You can always find a good deal on something. Easy place to shop but sometimes you need to find someone to help you. Best time to shop there is as soon as the doors open as not as busy. Don't go there if it is a weekend and it is raining. You will not get in the door. Nice and friendly staff.

Always have to stop in when we visit Walker. Has good selection of clothing, and sportsman needs including fishing and hunting gear.

If you can think of it for sports you can likely find it here! Crazy days is awesome however inside store deals lack lusture. Personnel is real helpful. Defintlitely a must stop in your travels

You would have to call them directly. But from what I remember, they had a large assortment of waders so I suspect they have repair kits as well.
