When Dracula premiered on BBC One in January 2020, it quickly gained a massive following due to its unique take on Bram Stoker's classic novel. Developed by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, the three-part series starred Claes Bang as the titular vampire and followed his journey from his origins in Eastern Europe to his battles with Van Helsing's descendants and beyond.

The show was also released on Netflix, where it gained an even wider audience. The streaming giant's description of the series reads, "The Count Dracula legend transforms with new tales that flesh out the vampire's gory crimes—and bring his vulnerability into the light."

Despite the show's limited series status, fans have been clamoring for Dracula Season 2 ever since the first one ended. However, the show's ending seemed to have brought Dracula's story to a natural conclusion, with the vampire finally achieving eternal peace. So, the question remains: Will BBC One and Netflix ever bring back Dracula with a Season 2?

Claes Bang, who played Count Dracula in the series, has offered updates on the possibility of a second season. In an interview with Digital Spy, he revealed that a decision on Dracula Season 2 "has not been made," but he added, "I would love to do one more."

Bang went on to explain that he couldn't provide any concrete details about the show's future, saying, "I would love to say something about that, but I can't because I think, no – it's with Netflix and the BBC. I don't think a decision has been made not to do one. But at this point, a decision has not been made, either, to do one. The only thing I can say positively is that I would love to do one more. I would love to get back with those people. It was one of the best things I have ever been on."

However, as Bang mentioned, the decision to renew Dracula for a second season rests with BBC One and Netflix.

One of the show's creators, Mark Gatiss, has hinted that the show could return for a second season. In an interview with Radio Times, Gatiss said, "It's very hard to kill a vampire. Do you understand what I mean? What they do is resurrect."

Another creator and writer of the horror drama, Steven Moffat, added, "I mean, it's a show about resurrection, that's literally what the main superpower of the main character is. Dracula started the show dead and then died again in episode two and came back. And then died again. Sister Agatha died and came back. I mean, everyone's dying on that show. So, we'll see."

It's clear that both Gatiss and Moffat have left the door open for a potential second season, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

One of the reasons for the uncertainty surrounding Dracula Season 2 is that the show was originally pitched as a limited series. Additionally, the series finale seemed to wrap up Dracula's story in a satisfying way, with the vampire finally achieving his long-desired eternal peace.

Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic has thrown many TV series into chaos, with many either being canceled or delayed. With the streaming giant remaining silent about the renewal of many television series, it's unclear whether Dracula will get a second season.
