As the Allies prepare for the D-Day Invasion, a pigeon named Valiant (Ewan McGregor) wants to contribute to the war effort. With carrier pigeons being decimated by German falcon Von Talon (Tim Curry), the understaffed Royal Homing Pigeon Corps accepts pint-sized Valiant and his shady friend, Bugsy (Ricky Gervais). The movie's takeoffs on old war-movie and RAF-flyboy cliches will certainly not connect with the knowledge base of America's current youngsters, which will only cause Valiant to seem that much more foreign.

Critics find the stupidest things to find a movie "bad" when it's not. This one the story is strictly by-the-numbers. SO! WHO THE FUCK CARES! It's a kid's movie about talking pigeons? What the fuck did you want? "The Sixth Sense" style twist? Just because there's no surprises or twist don't make it bad. They didn't play up the Nazi angle too much for obvious reasons. But I got to admit Bugsy the dirty pigeon got annoying at times. Overall, this "by-the-numbers" is a fun, funny little war comedy.
