Remember how Liam Neeson, at one point in his career, decided he would play only action heroes and how most of his recent characters were basically Bryan Mills from Taken in a different context? Well, it seems that another acting legend has chosen the same path, as Oscar-winner Russell Crowe is once again going to play an exorcist in the upcoming movie The Exorcism, which is set to be released on June 7, 2024. Now, the first official trailer for the movie has been released and we are going to show it to you below.

Now, our introduction was – in case you do not know – like this because Russel Crowe starred as an exorcist in the 2023 movie The Pope’s Exorcist, which – believe it or not – has absolutely no connection to The Exorcism. It seems that Crowe liked the previous role so he decided to reprise it but in a completely unrelated movie.

As we have said, the first trailer for the upcoming supernatural horror has been released and it seems to be an interesting flick if you’re a fan of this subgenre. Here is the trailer:

As said, the movie releases in June and will star Russell Crowe as Anthony Miller, Ryan Simpkins as Lee Miller, Chloe Bailey as Blake Holloway, Sam Worthington as Joe, David Hyde Pierce as Father Conor, Marcenae Lynette as Monica, Tracey Bonner as Regina, Samantha Mathis as Jennifer Simon, Adrian Pasdar as Tom, and Adam Goldberg as Peter. The movie is directed and written by M. A. Fortin and Joshua John Miller.

The official synopsis of the movie reveals the following information about the upcoming horror flick:

The Exorcism is a horror film distributed by Miramax and Outerbanks Entertainment.

A troubled actor who begins to unravel while shooting a supernatural horror film. His estranged daughter, Lee, wonders if he’s slipping back into his past addictions or if there’s something more sinister at play.

The Exorcism stars Russell Crowe, Sam Worthington, Chloe Bailey, Adam Goldberg, and David Hyde Pierce. The film is directed by Joshua John Miller and written by M.A. Fortin & Joshua John Miller. The Exorcism is produced by Kevin Williamson, Ben Fast, Bill Block.

The Exorcism releases into theaters on June 7.

And that is all that we actually have for you at this moment. The Exorcism is releasing very soon and if you’re a fan of this specific subgenre, we’re sure that you’ll enjoy this movie as well, especially if you liked Crowe’s previous movie that focused on the same topic.
