What an amazing campus! We visited here a few years back and it was extra special as my wife's father served in the Navy. We didn't have time to do a formal tour, but we did a self-guided tour and got to spend time at the Naval Academy Museum, which was spectacular and is something you definitely have to do when you visit. It's an honor to tour these grounds and we highly recommend visiting the Naval Academy if you're ever in Annapolis!

Going on a tour here was really interesting, and I didn't even leave enough time to see all the things I wanted to see. This is easily a 4+ hour day. There is an exhibit at the visitor center that I didn't have time to look through. There is also a museum I didn't see. But I did take a tour, and that was about an hour and a half and quite a nice walk around campus.

Our tour guide was a former director and was very informative and fun to listen to. We learned a lot about the student life, the expectations, and the history of the university and about the buildings. We went from the indoor sporting field, the pool, the student center, a dormitory example, and finishing off in the chapel and with John Paul Jones's burial site which was also a really interesting story.

I got in a lot of steps, got a lot of information on life at the Naval Academy, and got to see some great architecture/statues. The price was reasonable, and I would be back just to see more of the exhibits.

Before entering the academy, you'll need to have your ID and bags checked. This was a quick process. There's plenty of street parking outside or near the Naval Base Academy.

It was amazing to learn so much about the history while visiting the Naval Base Academy! There are many different parts of the academy, so make sure to have your walking shoes on and leave time in your schedule to see everything the academy has to offer from the sporting field, museums, monuments, etc!

We came here for a field trip.
This place is beautiful!!! The grounds were taken care of... not a scrap of trash anyway..

So much pride and history here. Our tour guide was a graduate of the academy and retired Navy. He was great explaining everything as he walked us thru the grounds.

My only down part is that it felt like he was recruiting the entire time .. "We only take the best.. you need to do X .. you have to do y".. Maybe that is the point of the tour but just a little odd. Other then that the place was perfect!

      I would definitely go back

I got a chance on a Sunday morning and late January 2023 to visit the US Naval Academy as a tourist. Had time to kill before my flight out of Baltimore, so I was here with a friend.

The US Naval Academy is basically the training Ground for our men and women in uniform to undergo training to be the best that the United States has the offer in the United States Navy. While it wasn't on the my list to see on a Sunday in Annapolis, Maryland as I was supposedly should have been in Baltimore, life has its way of diverting me here and I got to go and see. Upon arrival, we were checked in at the security check point, presented ID, and was allowed entry after going thru a metal detector. Can't be too safe nowadays. After that, we walked around and checked out the campus. I learned that the campus is extremely larger than I thought it would be. Thousands of recruits are here on any given day training and living on site. And so, my friend, and I decided to check things out and ended up sightseeing the US naval museum at showcases the amazing man and women who have gone from this Naval Academy to awesome things in their careers. We learned thru the artwork and photographs that many of the US naval academy graduates have become astronauts for the United States of America. It is pretty cool and amazing to see. We walked around for about 45 minutes around campus before we circle back to the gift shop to check things out over there. It was a chilled atmosphere, especially when it is in January. Not much to see although it is amazing how large and how sophisticated complex this campus truly is.

The overall experience here at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland was inspiring, casual, and very informative to be sure. I enjoyed the parts were in the museum was very nice and inspirational to pay tribute to the people who made successful careers after graduating from the US Naval Academy here in Annapolis, Maryland. The campus itself was nice and scenic and it doesn't seem like it needs Constant upkeep, because it generally maintains itself because this campus is basically a United States military installation. I can see why many cadets here in the naval academy like to go for runs around the campus. It is very beautiful and as measured before scenic and well paved with asphalt. For the most part, though, I enjoyed my time here one day around the US Naval ammunition campus and enjoy the museum to see what amazing things people have done is servicemen, and women are amazing and definitely a source of inspiration to us all. If you are a military bath or just enjoy visiting military installations for vacation or just because, consider coming to the United States naval academy in Annapolis Maryland. There wasn't many people around locking and stuff but they're there. Must be a balmy brisk winter warning that people are not around that much there but they're there. If you're in the area stop on by. Well, technically, it's not a bona fide tourist attraction by any means, it is cool that the military lets civilians in to look around.

The United States Naval academy's sprawling complex facility is located in Annapolis Maryland. While there was no admission fees to visit the campus, we had to go thru metal detectors and show identification to pass. It was just a layer of security that protects us all. For us civilians who visit the campus, you can expect to be dazzled and amazed at the sheer size of the campus and how much amenities they have housed here. It's as large as a major university, but it's for training and maintaining a strong military force. As far as parking for the visitors, Best thing to do is to park on residential street parking outside the facility and walk in. If you are big on public transportation, consider the rules that best fits your needs, and use those to get here. For the most part, though, it was a real treat to come here window. I was short on time and wanted to do other things here in Annapolis. I guess I was wrong. It was great to have been here and been amazed and inspired by the men and women in uniform whom have served, currently serving, and continue to serve here in the United States Navy, and all branches of military service. Definitely worth your time here and be amazed. Totally recommended.

5.0 stars for the overall experience.

Dined at the Buchanan house for commissioning week-

Service: Fantastic. The entire staff was kind, attentive, and well prepared for the event. They actively encouraged everyone to try all the food, taking pride in all that they had prepared. They were very friendly and outgoing. The oyster shuckers were my favorite people of the night!

Food: Overall great. I was very impressed by the oysters and shrimp. They sweet oysters were so plump and good and the salty oysters were smaller but much tastier in my opinion. Both oysters were great and I appreciated that we could try both. There was cocktail sauce and lemons available to dress them with, but I wish there was old bay. The shrimp were very well seasoned and succulent. I think the seafood really stole the night. The meat and slaw in the slider had good flavor, but the size of the bun overwhelmed the sandwich. The ratio of bread to filling was about 70/30 but I wish it had been closer to 50/50. The chicken and waffles were good, but the piece of chicken I had was mostly breading so I didn't get the savory side I was looking for to balance with the sweet waffle and syrup. The waffle was cooked well, with a crisp exterior and fluffy interior.

Atmosphere: Superb. The house is beautiful. The garden is gorgeous. Cleanliness is also clearly a priority here. The music was so wonderful and everyone in attendance was so kind.

Overall, a fantastic experience. I would love to come back (if invited)

This is a nice experience and I strongly recommend everyone to come here. I didn't do the guided tour and instead I just roam around. It's very informational and who knew that several presidents of the US or graduates including Jimmy Carter. It was also cool to see the astronaut outfits from prior shuttles as well as a whole section on Billy the goat.

Took the 90 min tour. $12/pp. Our tour guide, Razu Wu, was very informative and entertaining! Thank you for an awesome tour. If u are near here, it's definitely worth a visit! Beautiful campus and architecture and history. There's also USNA museum free of charge that u should visit. And don't forget to watch the 15 min movie at the visitor's center. And go for a nice lunch on the waterfront only 5 min walk from campus. Civilians need to go to Gate 3 which can be a little confusing to find. There's no clear sign.
