Underground Aces Blu-ray
Posted August 5, 2023 07:48 PM by
Kino Lorber are preparing a Blu-ray release of Robert Butler's comedy Underground Aces(1981), starring Dirk Benedict, T.K. Carter, Robert Hegyes, Rick Podell, and Michael Winslow. The release is expected to arrive on the market later this year.
Description: Parking attendants doing outrageous stunts at an exclusive Beverly Hills Hotel focus all their energy on helping a sheik woo a beautiful woman.
Excited about this one! I hope one day we'll see Dirk Benedict's Trenchcoat in Paradise, directed by Martha (Real Genius/Valley Girl) Coolidge get a release.
Movies I hope Kino will release at some point: Beer, Cheaper To Keep Her, Collision Course, Downtown, Head Office, Hero At Large, Just You and Me Kid, Loving Couples, Middle Age Crazy, Off Beat, Short Time, Tilt, Why Would I Lie?
Hell yes!!!! I've been waiting for this one myself and surprisingly with no DVD release to speak of. Great work Kino.
I hope they do some of the stuff nerdysomething said like Off Beat, Head Office and Hero At Large which is by Warner and should be released by Warner Archive one day hopefully. I'd like Kino to do stuff like Three Kinds of Heat, Hollywood Homicide, Six Weeks, The Joy of Sex, Compromising Positions, Racing With The Moon, Gridlock'd, Night Falls On Manhattan, Searching For Bobby Fischer and others.
Had never seen, let alone even heard of this one! Checked it out on Youtube and it's a bit different. There are some interesting supporting roles: Sid Haig (playing a Middle Eastern bodyguard), Ernie Hudson, Audrey Landers, Frank Gorshin and Robert Hegyes (Welcome Back, Kotter). Melanie Griffith was the true up and comer and Dirk Benedict was fresh off Battlestar Galactica. Good on Kino for getting more obscure titles out on the Blu Ray format!
