on an sunny afternoon its a great place to wander around and people watch. The sculptures are somewhat crude, and after a while looking at so many of them it seems that the sculptor went for quantity over quality- but its interesting none the less.

It is wonderful to see art outdoors and in such a fabulous setting. We enjoyed most seeing a couple progress from childhood to the different ages in life.

What an interesting set of statues displaying different moods, ages and themes. Well worth a walk around before heading up to the monument.

Early 1900s this park was created with the Circle of Life theme. Different parts of the park had groupings of these large statues in various poses and stations in life. Make sure you have a few hours to see it all. Pretty gardens, waterfalls, etc. All are nude but oddly no pregnant women statues bc the creator thought it wasn't proper to show women pregnant. But it was early 1900s.

We toured this location as a group and our guide walked us around the fountain of life and several colleagues cried they were touched so much by the emotional content of the statues. Up the hill, the consistent boldness and approachability of the art was striking. Really worthwhile!

The sculpture park is quite large and takes time to walk through and enjoy all of the sculptures as well as learn the various meanings behind the sculptures. A local guide helps a great deal in that regards. On a nice day it is a pleasant way to spend your time.

Not a separate detour worth but a good addition to a visit to the Astrup Fearnley museum. Offers good views and beach access - and a few nice sculptures.

Was expecting to see sculptures scattered around the area but they were all on plinths along a wide walkway which lead to a huge monument up a great number of steps. All sculptures looked quite similar so it was quite disappointing. Have seen better sculpture parks in other parts of the world.

..not because they are nudes, but because sooner or later you are going to come upon some that remind of people you know, people you used to know ... or yourself. There are so many photo ops that you finally have to say enough is enough. The park grounds themselves as beautiful with gorgeous roses and beautiful varied planters. Go on a nice day and enjoy the leisurely pace.
