Amazing in winter! Ice formations under and around the falls were really cool (and there were no crows) Even the teenager was impressed.

Knowing fully well Maid of the Mist etc will be closed for the season, my family and I still planned a visit here in December, because the state park itself is open year round. It wasn’t too busy, and we found plenty of parking - $10 per vehicle, and valid for the entire day, even if you move from parking lot to parking lot.
The gift shop was a tad bit of a let down, but we enjoyed the falls from Prospect Point. The evening illumination and 8 pm fireworks were worth the repeat visit in the evening.

Our grandchildren enjoyed their first visit to the Falls and the State Park. The day was a warm sunny October afternoon, perfect for walking and viewing the falls.

Terrapin Point was beautiful at sunset and so worth it. Nice hiking trails. A cute gift shop closes early.

The observation tower is a THE perfect place to go for photos of the falls from the American side. You get a gorgeous long shot include the American Falls, the tip of Goat Island and Horseshoe Falls. The view looking up and down the river is unforgettable!

There are a lot of people who like to take photos from the tower, so be patient and take turns getting in and out. If you're just enjoying the view you can step back and let people take photos. There is visual opportunity all over the observation deck.

Outstanding views of the whirlpool and class 6 rapids. The park allows for enjoyment in the green spaces and on the trails. Seems like a lot of buses with tourists come through, and the visitor center is closed for renovation. The parking lot is pretty large and allows for quite a few vehicles. No entry fee is charged.

Pretty views but nothing really to do just different views of the river. It's a quick walk over a couple small bridges.

Disappointing. It's no longer a outlet where you can get deals. After factoring the exchange rate, gas and meals it's cheaper to stay in Canada

Our young children had a blast. We saw the penguin feed and the sea lion presentation. They loved seeing all of the fish and turtles. However it was $70+ for our family of four to visit for less than 2 hours.

We had been to this museum many years ago. My husband more or less accidentally stumbled upon its web site, and we decided to go again. It was an interesting museum to visit, even if you are not an aviation fan. There's lots of local Buffalo regional history, and our docent Walt was really interesting.

This is a MUST VISIT Museum! I recommend it to everyone planning a trip to Niagara Falls - whether the visit is on the US side or Canada. The history of this community is important to understanding the fight and flight to freedom from slavery in the U.S.

The museum brings to life the important role that Niagara Falls, NY and its community of former slaves and abolitionists played in the success of the Underground Railroad. Our tour guide Jasiah was EXCEPTIONAL as she educated and engaged all in our tour group. The journey through the museum introduced me to heroic individuals whose names and courageous actions have been untold.

I am so very pleased that my family and I made this museum a part of our Niagara Falls experience. If you are traveling to/from a visit to the Falls, I recommend you include a visit to the museum on your agenda. You will leave enlightened and inspired by the knowledge of those who came before us.

A very special thanks to the leadership and staff of the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center!

The Schoellkopf Power Plant ruins is a great addition to the attractions on the American side of Niagara Falls. You take the restored plant elevator down to the Niagara River. At the base are nice murals explaining all about the plant and its collapse. There are also nice walking trails where you can take a short walk around the area or even take a longer hike.

One easy trail leads down to the water's edge. It is nice being at river level and having the unique view of the gorge and the river as you look back toward Rainbow Bridge and the Falls. And the best part is, it is completely free.

In the same area is the Maid of the Mist dry dock, where they store the boats during the winter.

The Niagara Gorge Discovery Center and Aquarium are across the street.
