Dear all,

I'm planning to travel from Cairo-Egypt to Lyon-France. I'm going to get my long stay Schengen visa issued by the French consulate in Egypt.

When I have tried to book a flight, I couldn't find a direct one. I have chosen a flight, operated by Lufthansa, that has a stop in Frankfurt-Germany.

I have some questions:

1- At Frankfurt airport, given that my Visa is Schengen, will I simply wait for my second flight at the transit area or I will have to go through immigration?

2- Will I have to present a document of a recent coronavirus test result before boarding at Cairo-Egypt airport, or after arriving at Frankfurt airport?

1. Your point of entry will be Frankfurt. Perfectly fine to enter Schengen-Europe in a different country than the one that issued the visa.

2. No, travelers who only transfer through an airport and leave the country with the next flight are exempt from all Corona rules. For staying in a hotel in Frankfurt you would need a negative test result not older than 48 hours, though. https://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/en/einreiseundaufenthalt/coronavirus

Thank you very much.

But in the link you provided, they said there is an exception for passengers in transit.

But I think, as I will have to go through immigration, my case would be considered "entry" instead of "transit", and this maybe require a coronavirus test.

What do you think?

No. Here transit means leaving the country. You could also get into a car and drive to France and it would be considered a transit.
