Because they were NATURAL! Everything about them...from their style to their bodies to their attitude, they didn't have to force anything. Even if they were in "character" they knew how to play into well w/o trying too hard.

And also everything that's going on now has already been done before, so it's not as exciting as it was to see it originally.
