Georgan G For the first part of this movie, I found myself laughing and being engaged in the drama. But this is not a rom-com. The story became no longer funny, but actually depressing. And continued until the end, with peace there. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member A very English movie and incredibly well done. Tremendous cast and performances supporting an excellent story and script. Both heart wrenching and uplifting. Add to your watch list. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review dennis r Tremendous, witty, moving. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Very well acted and well written. A great movie to see. A drama with other aspects. Worth your time. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member I enjoyed this one overall and thought it was a good story, but I wouldn't have listed it as a Comedy since it was mainly a drama with the setting at the beginning of WWII in England movie studios. Cecilia Nowell Bitch Media It feels inappropriate to be moved by a film about propaganda during an era of "alternative facts." Yet I found my soul soothed by Their Finest. Mar 2, 2021 Full Review John Doyle Globe and Mail There's a sweet love story and some wonderful work by an array of British actors. My heavens, this is charming, rib-tickling escapism. Jan 27, 2021 Full Review J. R. Jones Chicago Reader The characters' endless revision of the film within the film tends to heighten one's awareness of the compromises that must have gone into the writing of this formulaic piece. Mar 26, 2020 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Scherfig balances what in another directors hands could be an uneven mixture of tones, carefully maneuvering around the pervasive wartime trauma to find romantic, funny, and touching moments. Rated: 4/4 Apr 4, 2022 Full Review Susan Wloszczyna AWFJ.org Sparks fly between her and a cynical fellow writer Tom (Sam Claflin, duly intellectualized with specs and a 'stache) and Arterton knows how to pretty-cry with panache when tears are required. Oct 5, 2021 Full Review Kip Mooney College Movie Review A delight from start to finish, except for the part where the film rips your heart out. Rated: B Aug 24, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews
