Dan Chase absconded from the CIA and lives off the grid. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past. The FBI's Harold Harper is called on to hunt him down because of his complicated past with the rogue fugitive. When Chase proves to be more difficult to apprehend than the authorities expected, a highly trained special ops contractor is sent to pursue him as well. While on the run, Chase rents a room from Zoe McDonald, who draws on reserves she never knew she had to survive the day when she learns the truth about her new tenant.

I agree with other reviews - it starts off brilliantly, but gets bogged down in endless inspirational speeches, no-one talks like that. It's a worn out trope to give the 'foreign' female characters some kind of mystical wisdom that only they can see. It's reductive and tired. Despite that, it's very enjoyable.

It starts off so strong... everything is mysterious, lots of action... and then... DIALOGUE... SO MUCH DIALOGUE... ugh. Stop explaining everything with endless conversation and flashbacks and go back to the action!

Excellent cast. the 1st 2.5 episodes are great too. Hopeful even. But then moments of "out of character" pops in follow by the slow flood of melodrama. By the time you get to episode 6 your wading in it, wishing you owned a canoe while you look for an exit strategy. What a waste of great actors.
