The film stars Shailene Woodley as Jennifer Stirling, who is unhappily married to her husband Laurence Stirling, played by Joe Alwyn. When Jennifer wakes up in the hospital in 1960, she has no memory of her life, her marriage, or the love affair she was carrying on with a mystery man who sent her a letter signed “B.” It turns out that “B” is a man named Anthony O’Hare, played by Callum Turner. When the love letter Anthony sent Jennifer is discovered half a century later by a journalist named Ellie Haworth, played by Felicity Jones, Ellie is determined to find out the identities of the lovers and reunite them, all while she tries to figure out her own relationship with John, played by Nabhaan Rizwan.
