Wedding & Other Romantic Music

Schubert's "Ave Maria" isn't the only choice when it comes to choosing memorable music for your ceremony. Whether you decide to charm your guests with a harp solo, a flute duo, a string quartet or surprise them with bagpipes, the music you choose for your ceremony will directly reflect the mood of the event.

At the ceremony, choose songs for:

  • Guests arrival
  • Bridal-party processional
  • Bride's processional
  • Recessional

At your reception, choose songs to play for:

  • The introcution of the bridal party (be sure to tell the DJ to have the music low as he/she introduces the bridal party. Many DJ's have the music way too loud which drowns out the announcements).
  • The entrance of the Bride and Groom
  • Your first dance as a couple
  • Father/Bride dance
  • Mother/Groom dance
  • Cake cutting
  • Last dance before you leave the reception

Use music to further the theme or location of your wedding:

  • Island location or Rocky Point beach wedding - Steel drums, Mariachi band or raggae music
  • Country setting - Bluegrass, country or folk music
  • City site - Smooth Jazz
  • Other music ideas: Barbershop quartet, bagpipes, your university's marching band
