Olivia Austin (born August 19, 1988) is an American actress and model. She began her career at age 19 with a series of small roles on television series, followed by her film debut in WWE: The Movie (2009). Austin went on to star in films such as Microscope (2013), Walker, Texas Ranger (2014), and Furious 8 (2015).

Early life[]

Austin was born in Seattle, Washington, in a family with Czech and Polish ancestry. Since her youth, she has lived in Arizona and Las Vegas, where she began working as a waitress. It was at this stage that she took classes in gymnastics and dance, becoming interested in working in dance and strip clubs, working for a while as a stripper.

After abandoning her career as a nurse, Austin decided to dedicate herself to Erotic photography modeling, doing some photo shoots that she sent to different agencies, such as OC Modeling, which was interested in her services, getting her first tests and castings.

Career[]

Early work: 2008–2012[]

Austin's earliest acting work was small supporting roles in the television series Without a Trace (2008) and Criminal Minds (2009). She made her film debut in a minor role in the sports wrestling drama WWE: The Movie (2009), followed by brief supporting roles in films such as American Pie Presents: Girls Night Out (2010), Supermarket (2010), Back to the Drawing Board (2010), Got the Hunter (2011), Justice Battle (2011), The Spy (2011) and Traffic Trassic (2012).

Mainstream recognition: 2013–19[]

Austin gained moderate mainstream recognition for her roles in the 2013 films Microscope and Hill Street Blues, both of which were box office successes. The following year, Austin played Sydney Cooke in the 2014 Walker, Texas Ranger film adaptation, and on the FX series Sons of Anarchy.

In 2015, Austin had a prominent supporting role in Furious 8, playing a new member of Dominic Toretto's crew named Daniela De La Cruz. The film was a box office success, over $1.5 billion worldwide.[1] She won the 42nd Saturn Awards for Best Supporting Actress. Austin later had three film roles in 2016; the first was in the action drama thriller The Key, the second was the horror Attack of the Admin, which earned her a nomination at the AACTA International Awards for Best Supporting Actress, and the third was the adaptation The Talking Parcel. The Key and The Talking Parcel were modest box office success, while Attack of the Admin was a flop. Austin later starred in three films in 2017; the first was the science fiction epic action adventure Skyworld, the second was the science fiction disaster film Geostorm starring Gerard Butler, and the third was The Prophecy. Geostorm was both a critical and commercial flop.

Austin starred in two heist films in 2018; the first was in Pay to Live, and the second was The Italian Job, the second remake of the 1969 film of the same name, which earned her a nomination for the Choice Action Movie Actress award at 2018 Teen Choice Awards and a win for the Female Movie Star award at the 44th People's Choice Awards. In 2019, Austin went on to star in the action crime-thriller NYPD Red, an adaptation of the novel of the same name.

2020–present[]

Austin starred in two streaming films in 2020; Age Of Reptiles, and Paprika. Both films received positive reviews. She provided voice-over work in the animated film Noisy in 2021.

Austin was set to voice a character in the Disney animated film Raya and The Last Dragon, but she was dropped after her character was written out.
