Today is September 11th. For those both inside and outside of the New York area, 9/11 is a solemn day of reflection, appreciation and unity. It is a day that is well-spent by taking time to honor the brave men and women lost and to be with your loved ones. People may fill that time with memorials or remote services, but we can all agree that sometimes all you need is a good TV/movie night with those you care about to put everything into perspective. And that is what we are here for: to help all of you out there find the top shows and best movies streaming now that will help you enjoy those you have by your side. And don’t worry about deciding what to watch this weekend, tonight or otherwise, because whether you’re looking on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, or all of the above, starting with the freshest titles is always the wisest move. Here are the new releases you can watch this weekend and where to stream them.

New Movies and Shows to Stream This Weekend: The Duchess, Family Business Season 2, and Coastal Elites

This weekend’s streaming lineup may not have something on every platform, but there are still some great highlights worth discussing. Netflix has a bunch of great new and returning titles coming out this weekend including Katherine Ryan’s new series The Duchess, Season 2 of the French crime dramedy Family Business, and the beloved sitcom Girlfriends starring a young Tracee Ellis Ross! New on Hulu this weekend is a bunch of new episodes of the anime series My Hero Academia. And finally, because we have all been dying for a reason to laugh at this absurd pandemic, HBO Max is debuting its original special, Coastal Elites. We could keep raving about the impressive titles new on streaming this weekend, but instead we will just direct you to the content below:

New on Netflix September 11: The Duchess

From creator, executive producer, writer and star Katherine Ryan comes The Duchess, the brand-new Netflix original comedy series out on Netflix this weekend. Based on her own life abroad, Ryan’s The Duchess follows a fashionably-disruptive single American mother living in London. Despite her myriad of powerful yet poor life decisions, the one thing that Katherine will never regret is her amazing young daughter, Olive. But is her greatest love powerful enough to convince her to have another child with her greatest enemy — Olive’s dad? It’s a question of whether two wrongs will make another right, or if insanity will be the ultimate result. Watch it all unravel in this hysterically raunchy comedy that is one of the top shows to watch this month on Netflix.

New on Netflix September 11: Family Business: Season 2

We (mari)wanna get back into The Family Business! Get it? Sigh, troglodytes. The French television series The Family Business is back for another season on Netflix. The plot revolves around a failed entrepreneur named Joseph who, upon finding out that cannabis is about to be legalized in France, takes his father’s butcher shop and turns it into the first French marijuana coffee house. Season 2 of this crime family dramedy catches back up with the Hazan family one year later and everything and nothing has changed. Joseph and his family may be living the high life, but between fights over illicit dealings, custody agreements and more, they learn that bigger may not necessarily be better. Watch the Family Business operate in this brand-new season on Netflix.

New on HBO Max September 12: Coastal Elites

New on HBO Max is Coastal Elites, a comedy film that brings humor to a much-needed time. Starring Bette Midler, Dan Levy, Sarah Paulson, Issa Rae and more, Coastal Elites follows the lives of five different people living on the East and West Coasts as they navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. This original special finally finds some humor in our current situation and thanks to remote filming and a streaming release, caters to the quarantined masses while raising the bar through its topical commentary and oh-so-relatable antics. This pandemic is so ridiculous you can’t help but laugh at it, and now you finally can thanks to Coastal Elites on HBO Max this weekend.
